I believe that the global shortage of doctors is due to exhaustion, fatigue, and dissatisfaction with their job status and wages, in addition to their lack of appreciation from governments, and the reluctance of many to join the field of medicine due to its difficulty and cruelty. Governments must put in place attractive factors for doctors to attract the largest number of them, and not to fall into health crises And a catastrophic medical threat

  • calm_starfish | Alkhansaa Prep Co Ed School B | Occupied Palestinian Territory 16 Nov 2022

There are many doctors in all countries and all countries, but doctors are lacking for several reasons Some of them are afraid of losing the patient And there are those who fear that they will not be able to treat this patient, and there are also people who are unable to treat the patient properly And some times a person is afraid of something or is afraid that he will make a mistake in medical treatment, and this often happens There are many other reasons, and there are also those who are threatened in the field of medicine And there are those of us who can do nothing

The solution, in my opinion, is as follows:
When you want or decide to enter the field of medicine, you must make sure that there are patients waiting for you to treat them and make them forget the pain of the body or the soul You have to prepare for everything that will happen and study with a pure intention and everything that passes you have to study so that you can succeed in your career and the lives of others. When you decide to become a doctor, make sure that you will be the reason for giving life again to patients

I think that the root causes of the global shortage in the number of doctors is their travel to complete their education abroad, because the period of studying medicine is long, as dentistry and surgery consume 8 years of study at the university, and the average doctor studies for 4 years, so this is a long period, and since medicine Very expensive, we all want to learn medicine, however, in economic conditions that do not allow learning medicine, students are forced to enter another specialty

At the beginning of my educational career, I dreamed of studying medicine and enrolling in international universities, and here I am now asking about the reasons for refusing to learn medicine in the world, especially for girls. Psychiatry among doctors makes them more introverted and lonely, and in some countries the high cost of studying medicine is a major obstacle for them. Also, the medical profession is very dangerous and patients’ lives must be taken care of and their diseases treated. At the end of my conclusion, I respect and appreciate all doctors and I wish the Ministry of Health to pay more attention to doctors And raise their salaries, and get appreciation from the people, and my advice to you is to take care of your health because it is the most precious thing we have.

What are the root causes of global doctor shortages? What should be done about this?
    ..~
Developing countries often suffer from a shortage of doctors due to the limited number and capacity of medical schools and international migration: doctors can always earn more money and enjoy better working conditions when working in other countries. Developed countries also suffer from a shortage of doctors, especially in rural areas and other underserved areas.

In my point of view, Doctors are candles which burning to illuminate and give life to some patients , because of the difficulties which doctors face in the life there's a shortage in doctors, for example, the long continuous period of time they work in the day so they feel that they can't spend a lot of time with their families, I think they work under high pressure on their health because of accuracy in their work so they must have the highest salary in the country to encourage the youth to specialize in the medicine inspite of it's difficulty.
In other wise some people avoid this field for fear of getting of mental problems so medicine needs a very strong character.
I hope to decrease the number of work hours for the doctor and give them
great perks because they really deserve.

Doctors have an important role our live . There are many reasons for lack of doctors, including
1- Large numbers of doctors working in the Ministry of Health leaked .

2- The numbre of doctors immigration directly abroad especially to Britain and Europe has increased .

3- Poor income of juniors doctors poor distribution of doctors at the state level, poor work environment in government hospitals and willingness to hold doctors accountable, all of which are factors that expel doctors.

4- Work pressure for low salaries.
As for solutions, the state must close the door through which doctors leave by opening new medical colleges, improving the work environment for doctors, increasing wages for doctors, and providing material support such as rewards and morals such as writing reports of thanks and appreciation for doctors.

Doctors suffer a lot because of the spread of diseases such as Corona, and they play to find treatment, and it also accumulates and we push patients to them
Which occupies their time and they can only rest a little, and this applies to most of my family
And the doctor’s profession began to diminish due to lack of salaries or backlogs. I suggest that we relieve them and not tire them out by taking care of our health by eating fruits and vegetables and staying away from harmful foods and frying pans and by following safety instructions and not polluting the environment so as not to accumulate respiratory diseasesAll appreciated

I think that there may be doctor shortages because they were told they would be given a pay rise, but they were not all given the money. (My mother is a doctor) So, they may resign and go somewhere else because of this. Also, because of the cost of living crisis, the government may not be able to pay the doctors, or pay for their equipment. In the doctor shortages, it may cause doctors to work longer hours because there are not enough other docotrs to do the shift. This is energy sapping and tiring, making the docor more likely to make mistakes.

Even if the government did make the taxes go up, it would not generally help. If would be unfair to say to everyone else that the doctors were exempt to this. On the whole, the government should really think how they spend their money so that when they say they will give a pay rise, they will do it.

To stop the bleeding of doctors from my point of view: It is possible to work on increasing doctors’ wages to match the requirements of a decent life, adopting a single training program for all doctors that is supervised by an independent body, and for each graduate to have a place for general and specialized training according to international rules, in addition to improving the work environment by protecting doctors with a fair law to practice the profession, and providing medicines and supplies And devices that guarantee the provision of reasonable medical service, and this will not be achieved without increasing the budget of the Ministry of Health and Population. Also, it is possible to work on merging university hospitals and Ministry of Health hospitals into one financial and administrative entity, and allowing university faculty members to work in Ministry of Health hospitals and train doctors for a rewarding fee, and finally establish Private (non-profit) medical colleges affiliated with public universities or private universities With quality rules not less than the international level.

  • illuminated_chameleon | Mayflower Centre | Romania 17 Nov 2022

The root causes of global doctor shortages are that some doctors leave for better conditions in other countries, others quit during training, and others because of to much work for their payment.
Also, the big work volume doctors have to face is also because some people go too often to the doctor. A solution could be bringing doctors from abroad and spending more money for building hospitals.

Well, there are many causes, but a very important cause is being paid less than a doctor deserves. We can not just underpay the doctors, and then have so big expectations of them. All the doctors do so much work. They don't get to spend enough time with their family, and sometimes don't even sleep long enough, because they have to go to work at night. Also, medical school is so expensive and hard, that most of the people trying to become a doctor give up. Doctors save peoples lives all the time, they realy deserve more. What we can do is start speaking out for doctors. We all start protesting when it comes to some unfair things in our personal life, but just closing our eyes when it happens to others. Let's start being united and give the doctors what they deserve, before most of them just give up, and find some other well paid jobs. We can not actually live without doctors.

  • fun_rainforest | Mayflower Centre | Romania 17 Nov 2022

I believe that doctor shortages start from the fact that doctors leave their country for better salaries In other countries that pay them more, leaving poorer countries with no good doctors. It also takes longer to learn how to be a doctor than other jobs. Some doctors also quit their jobs because they don't get paid enough. Also, some people go to the hospital without actually needing to go, occupying doctors and not letting them help people actually in need. In some countries, doctors are underpaid, which makes less people want to be doctors because of the hard work and small salary. Doctors should be paid better and other countries shouldn't accept foreign doctors, because there will be more doctors in poorer countries that need more doctors. Also, doctors should be well-paid for the amazing things they do.

In Romania, doctors and teachers are underpaid, making less poeple want these professions. Here, we could fix doctor shortages by paying doctors well, just like they deserve.

What would you do to fix doctor shortages?

  • incomparable_armadillo | Mayflower Centre | Romania 17 Nov 2022

Around the world, we don’t have enough doctors because they think there is too much pressure and they are underpaid for the work they do. In my country, Romania, the healthcare system is decent, but as in other countries like Spain they are underpaid for the work they do. Also, the junior doctors quit the profession during the training because they think it is too dificult or because they dont have enough support so that is another problem . This was especially a problem during covid. I think that we should respect the doctors because they work all day and save peoples’ lives.

  • tranquil_orangutan | Mayflower Centre | Romania 17 Nov 2022

A doctor works very hard to become a good doctor. In the US there are the best doctors, because the country offers more money and more advantages. Other countries do not have so much money to spend on doctors and they do not have such good doctors.
Some countries end up having people leave them, also because of money. A very good doctor who likes what he does and would help everyone regardless of money.
Some doctors let people die in the hospital instead of helping them.

  • poetic_buffalo | Mayflower Centre | Romania 17 Nov 2022

The cause of doctor shortage in our country is that the doctors aren't paid correctly. That's why so many doctors go to other countries to get paid more. But think about the reasons those people become doctors. They become doctors not because they want to become rich, but because they want people to live, they want to help them. Most of them are passionate of what they do. I don't say that doctors shouldn't be paid at the level of work they do. I think the government should give them bigger salary. The government should pay for life.

  • bright_wallaby | Mayflower Centre | Romania 17 Nov 2022

There are so many people willing to be doctors but when they actually need to study and perform under pressure most just leave. For example in Japan one of the reasons they have doctor shortages is because patients have frequent appointments. This can also be said for my country as we are a nation of hypochondriacs. One other problem are the underpaid nurses, doctors, obstetrician, surgeons and the other heroes that save our life daily. Let's take Romania for example: Romania's healthcare is ranked last in Europe. Also this country has a big shortage of doctors. After it entered the E.U more than 15.000 doctors ended up going to higher paying countries to persuade their job. Before saying that being a doctor is easy just think the people that go to university. Most of them spend 3 years, but doctors spend double that time. And if a doctor makes a mistake you will get mad and probably just sue them even if they are human beings. As a doctor you are literally playing with a humans life. Do you think a doctors mistake is bigger than a lawyers?

Doctor shortage is a problem in India because people want to be doctors and then they go in other countries to work.
    What can we do?
We can convince them to stay at work in India because people need their help and they don't have any motive to go in other country but when coronavirus came the doctors were exhausted and they foughted to keep patients alive.

  • generous_lime | Bal Bharati Public school A | India 17 Nov 2022

The root causes of doctor shortages around the world is due to very long period of time to pursue medicine and unsatisfactory results after the getting a job. After studying for years, people become doctors but then also they have to find jobs in a good hospital which can pay them good salaries but then also they have to practice their skills for years to get to a higher position in the hospital. Today, most of the people don't have that level of patience to struggle for years and still not getting satisfactory results. Indeed, being a doctor is a noble profession but it kind of not satisfy them to live happily if they don't get constant motivation. It's very hard to for a doctor to see people suffering in front of their eyes and doctors toil hard to save their patients, if there is an emergency at 2:00 AM in the night, they will leave their sleep, family, everything just to save the person. It needs a lot of dedication to become a doctor, they should be respected by all of us.

The problem of lack of doctors is due to many problems, including the long period of study, the high cost, and the psychological pressure that afflicts the learner, instead of the fact that some countries do not have universities to teach the profession, and it is necessary to travel abroad, instead of the practitioner receiving many problems such as low wages, high pressure, and others at the expense of the person So he takes refugeStudents to practice another profession or enter the medical field, but within a simple work such as a pharmacIn my opinion, 1. Universities should be provided to teach this profession. The medical profession is not like building houses and other things, but rather to build hope for life.
2 Provide university scholarships for students.
    3. Increasing doctors' wages, as humanity's lives are in their hands
    4. Finding places for employment for doctors, which reduces immigration and keeps the poor in the country
5.It is true that doctors are tasked with taking care of us, but this does not mean that we should not take care of ourselves and those around us

In addition to all this, with the spread of cholera and corona patients, we must wash vegetables, take care of our cleanliness, and help nature

  • involved_mood | Alkhansaa Prep Co Ed School B | Occupied Palestinian Territory 17 Nov 2022

In my opinion we have a doctor shortage because people don't want to go to school for the long time that being a doctor requires. Iam sure many people would have to be doctors but motivation isn't there for them, they'd rather take the easy way out and become a nurse or physicians assistant. Also another reason might be because college is becoming more and more un affordable. If students don't have a local college that they can can go to the price is out standing and many students don't want to go into that much debt for all degree, they will be paying student loans off for awhile and that is something most people don't want to do. It is hard enough trying to support yourself but imagine having $100,000 indept you have to pay off. I don't necessarily think we have a general doctor shortage but I do think we have a specialist shortage for the a mount of people who need to see them in America. When you go to a specialist you wait forever because they have overloaded schedules with too many patients that the realistically can't see in one day because they are the only specialist in the area.

I think that the root cause is the high average required to enter the Faculty of Medicine, as well as the high costs of studying it, and the length of the study period, as it takes more than 5 years,And let's think about it, why would I spend my life and reach the age of thirty for a job when I am able to get another job with a close salary after studying 4 years at the university only!
What must be done is to grant poor students with high averages in high school free scholarships to study medicine and try to develop academic methods in teaching medicine so that the student does not feel burdened,Also educating students in the primary, middle and secondary stages of the importance of our human feeling about this profession and also stimulating their passion for it! If society deals with us entering the Faculty of Medicine only because we have obtained a high rate, this will reduce the interest of young people in it, and they will be frustrated by entering it.

  • glorious_lake | Alkhansaa Prep Co Ed School B | Occupied Palestinian Territory 17 Nov 2022

The number of doctors decreases from time to time due to their dissatisfaction with what is happening in terms of: the many pressures, the lack of salaries, the lack of any rest for them, and the absence of any rewards or incentives for them.
Consequently, the number of students who learn medicine and so on over the number of years is few, and there is little opportunity to get a job after graduation.
And because the medical profession needs patience, courage, and strengthening the heart because of the injuries and diseases that it sees. The patient’s life is a trust in the hands of the doctor, and any slight error leads to the incapacitation or death of the patient.

  • triumphant_mango | Rhemaville Christian Academy | Nigeria 17 Nov 2022

    I honestly feel that we have shortage when it comes to doctors because;
    1. Doctors have to deal with patients with various diseases and if not detected on time it would be air-borne and the doctors would be infected which could course the dead on such individual(s).
    2. People also think or believe that becoming a doctor is difficult which honestly it is ,so the run from it .
    3. when a patient dies under the watch of medical personals must times such personals are blamed for the death which course a lot of trauma to some and some could give up on the career.
    What should be done;
    1. People should be encouraged to follow there passion no matter how it may seem hard.
    2. People should learn that yes some doctors do make mistakes but we should not always give them a hard time about it
    3. Even if you are insulted, disrespected or even embarrassed do not give up someone someday will think you for doing good

  • receptive_editor | Rhemaville Christian Academy | Nigeria 17 Nov 2022

I think one of the causes of doctor shortages is an increase in population of a country. Most countries with high population tend to suffer from doctor shortages because the higher the population the higher the demand for services. So in order to solve this problem family planning devices can be distributed in such countries and the citizens should be motivated towards it. It would really help control birth rate leading to better efficiency in the medicine sector.

  • accurate_wombat | Rhemaville Christian Academy | Nigeria 17 Nov 2022

Well in my opinion, the excess demand for them causes the shortage of them, yes, what do I, mean well I believe that because of the way most youths want to become doctors, people believe that at a point the supply of doctors and the jobs available would be at an uneven ratio. The idea that doctors would one day be too much in the world is exactly what would cause their shortage. I hear statements like THE WAY EVERYONE WANTS TO BE DOCTORS ONE DAY THERE WOULD BE TOO MANY DOCTORS. To be honest i kind of agreed with that ideology up until I realized that it was wrong, we have increasing rate of hospitals around the globe. So, if we really think about it everything sums up.

The reasons for the shortage of doctors in the Arab countries: because doctors suffer from pressure in the hospital, exhaustion and fatigue, and it may also be because of the financial cost because it requires a very large amount, and it may be because of the difficulty of learning. That it is due to the lack of giving enough money to meet their needs, and the solutions are to give the doctors a leave for a measure of rest, to return to activity and vitality, and to give enough money to meet the needs

From my point of view, the medical profession has features that push and encourage me as a young woman to strive to join the elite of doctors. On a personal level: The medical profession has a great impact on the lives of doctors, as it contributes to the expansion of thier awareness and recognition of God's creativity in ceation.Researches, reference, and books about the accuracy of its knowledge, and how this body can be a single, interconnected entity,as one piece, Which will suffer if any one of its injured, and it will remain healthy with the safety of the rest of the parties medicine affect the lives of doctors and opens adoor for them to interact with the most talented minds of their colleagues and teachers, and to the outside world as well, where the doors of grants and missions are opened for them to travel to complete their specialization in all countries that are concerned with developing medicine and creating new methods ofe treatment. On the social level, the doctors life is very special, as the doctors finds himself at the top of the social pyramid, where people meet him with love and respect. The economic receives a high salary that qualifies him to lead a decent and comfortable life in which he achieves what he aspired to, as a reward for his diligence over many years in acquiring science and scientific and theoretical knowledge.

What are the root causes of global doctor shortages?
the way most doctors are paid matters. According to research, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, or orthopedic surgery and report earning over half a million ($500,000) per year on average. making these doctors the most paid doctors worid wide and these doctors are known to be so scarce. Now for the lowest paid doctors are the Pediatrics. these pediatrics have the most basic jobs which are to provide preventive care and also diagnose and treat infections, injuries and diseases.
Many doctors give up even before making it up to 10-14 years
What should be done about this?
Increase Interest in the Field, Establish Centers of Excellence, Integrate Environmental Medicine with Occupational Medicine Training and Research Programs. Increase Funding for Faculty Development. Support Residency and Fellowship Training.

Reducing the amount of health care provided to patients that hinders the ability of health systems to achieve primary health care goals, such as the Millennium Development Goals.

Low quality of health care provided to patients as a result of the short duration of doctor visits.

Increasing workloads and the large number of patients assigned to each doctor lead to increased workloads on doctors and sleep deprivation, which threatens patient safety.

Unnecessary deaths of patients while waiting for health care.

High prices for practicing medicine as a result of a lack of competition, according to the rules of supply and demand in health care economies governed by the market.

    Lower medical costs for clients.
Unlike other industries, when market share is high and competition is low, physicians are less inclined to increase the frequency or intensity of medical services in order to maximize allowances through limited patient visits.

Since I was a child, I dreamed that I would become the greatest doctor in my country. I started my career when I was 13 years old. I planned and dreamed of that, but I knew that there was a great shortage in the number of patients in my country.
    Why?
Well, I will tell you that the Ministry of Health does not know how valuable a doctor is in life. If they knew what his value is, they would give him half of the bank.
And the lack of doctors’ salaries and not giving them a chance to rest or plan something, as there are those who have a home, a woman, children and a family to meet with.
#I hope the Ministry of Health will address these problems so that doctors will be enthusiastic about doing their work. Thank you...👩‍🔬👩‍🔬👩‍⚕️

The major causes of doctor shortages are; low pay, harsh working environment, lack of recognition and being overworked. There are also immigration issues for some doctors so it makes it hard for them to work.

Solutions to the issues above would be paying doctors equivalent money to their work, giving doctors some credit for their work, giving doctors enough vacation time to rest up and come back performing better than ever and making immigration for jobs that require medicine easier to come into the country.

I feel that if all the above conditions are met the shall no longer be a shortage of doctors.

Since childhood, I find myself an independent doctor, according to what my parents say, that he achieves valuable material profits, but when I grew up, I did not find myself there, so I decided to pursue my dream, and there are many reasons that did not make me study medicine:

There are no good universities in my country, so most of those who studied medicine went abroad

High costs, you find smart people but they do not have the price of universities, so I think that opportunities should be provided to smart people for free

Sometimes in my country they don't give a good amount of money to the staff, because this causes the tuition fee percentage to be low

I also see that children of these years see themselves in the world of fame and social media, and this is what makes them forget to study and reduce their intelligence.

  • brave_forest | Alkhansaa Prep Co Ed School B | Occupied Palestinian Territory 17 Nov 2022

In my opinion, the reason for the shortage of doctors is because of the high university fees in the medical specialty and the low standard of living for families, which led students to go to specializations whose fees are lower and because of the high price of medical tools and because of a shortage in the number of hospitals in developing countries and the large number of unemployment in them and because of the large number of The years of study and because it has become the tendency of students to work for jobs that have few years of study. Although there are students who have something that may help reduce the number of deaths and find a cure for many diseases; Therefore, we must support students who want to become doctors to help people.

Well, there are many reasons for the lack of doctors around the world. The first reason is: it is possible that the rotab is a reason for this. For example: If the doctor's salary is low per month, he will resign from his work because he will not be able to pay his bills, house costs, food, and clothes, and this is a reason for the resignation of some doctors. The second reason is pressure at work. It means that the doctor is very busy, goes from one patient to another, treats more than one patient, and his work is always exhausting. This is something that will cause him to resign from his work because of his fatigue, which will reduce the number of doctors. The third thing is the psychological conditions of some doctors. It is possible for the doctor to enter into a psychological condition, which he sees during a patient’s surgery, and he becomes mentally ill and fears blood or operations, and this thing causes a shortage in the number of doctors. The fourth thing is mistakes in work. It means that the doctor makes a mistake in his operation and causes the death of the patient, so the doctor regrets the mistake he made in the operation, which led to his resignation and his regret for what he did or his expulsion from his work. This also relates to age. There is a specific age for a doctor to resign from his work. Frankly, I do not know what is the exact age for doctors to resign, so I will give you an age from me. Well, if the age of a doctor is around 59-60 years, he will not have a good health condition, as he may have diseases at this age such as heart disease, diabetes and pressure, so his health condition will deteriorate if he is He works a lot so he will quit his job.Not only that . My father is a doctor who goes to work from nine in the morning until ten at night. We do not have time to see him or talk to him because in the morning we are at school, but in the evening we are asleep, so we do not always see him. When we see him, he tells us that he is trying to quit his job so that he can stay with us and we will always be with him. You also saw that this leads to a shortage of doctors

I want to become a doctor, because I simply hate feeling helpless when someone or someone I love is in pain in front of me. This is killing me a lot.. I want to offer something for them and the world, even if it is just a little. I'd take a path other than medicine to make this happen, if there was one!

There are a lot of people graduating privileged in their studies and they want to make their dreams come true and become doctors and so forth, but their physical circumstances don't allow it because teaching medicine needs a lot of money, and also there are men and women learning.Medicine and graduate with a certificate but they are not fortunate to hire and work and also because of fatigue, fatigue and working day and night. There are elderly doctors who are tired and sick and also the salary that good gets is little and not suitable.

  • outgoing_perspective | Shouka Prep Girls School | Occupied Palestinian Territory 18 Nov 2022

I think that doctors’ refusal occurs because of the difficulty of this specialization for some, and also there are countries that do not recognize education (ignorant countries) and they do not care about education much, so there is a great shortage of doctors, and also some people get tired of their situation and it happens with them Depression

  • inspiring_shrimp | Mayflower Centre | Romania 18 Nov 2022

Doctor shortages are becoming more and more common over the world.
One of the most common causes is the salary. Money are controlling our lives and you can end up in a dead end if you don't have the necessary amount. As a result many doctors choose to work in other countries/places that pay better. The country must give the doctors a reason to stay in and try to give the salary that they deserve.
This brings us to the next cause. Doctors leave their country to work in other places. There are many reasons why a doctor would leave the country but a lot of countries don't have the necessary equipment or condition for them to work in. If the country really can't afford the equipment I think the best idea would be to make a donation box for people to donate and to find other ways to solve the underfunding problems.
And one of the last causes is that some people want to become a doctor but can't afford. This issue is kind of common in poor countries and is sad to think that people can't make their dream true. The country should offer a extra amount of money for the family where a kid has chances to achieve becoming something in live so that they can pay for their studies.

Most people dreamed of being doctors when they were young, but when they grow up, the dream changes, especially for girls, because some fathers and mothers say that the doctor is hard work for the girl, and if she works as a doctor, it affects her home and family, and also that the doctor’s work is very tiring, and whoever becomes a doctor must bear the responsibilities that This specialization also follows that the study of this specialization lasts for many, many years, approximately 7 years without specialization and 12 years with a specialization. The shortage of doctors. The second reason is the lack of expertise in the world and also because of the high rates that the country allows to enter medicine. For example, in my homeland of the year, the lowest rate of entering medicine was 94%.
This rate is few people can achieve due to the lack of achievement rates in the world that are allowed for the specialty of medicine, and sometimes the financial situation does not allow the individual to enter the Faculty of Medicine, and there are many reasons, but these are the reasons that prevent the individual from entering the Faculty of Medicine, but these are the reasons that circles in my head when I heard about this.
The solution that I want to say is for the student to be confident in himself and that he can overcome the difficulties of this dream as long as he finds hope and persistence in it, and that the parents must raise the morale of their student even if he is of low achievement, so his academic level must be raised to achieve his dream, and you must consider it from the story of Edison And his mother, and also the state must lower specialization rates for medicine to allow most students to enter it.

I've always been passionate about anatomy and the human body but once I learnt about how hard it is to become a doctor and how mentally fatigued you can get, I immediately checked it off and never considered it ever again.
I feel like THAT is the main reason why there are shortages of doctors, the process of actually becoming a full time doctor is one of the most difficult and exhaustings things ever. You have to study almost every single day for long hours then after that work atrocious hours every single day after you've successfully become one.
Also another reason why there are little doctors in countries is because of wages. Why would a person work in a poor country where they get little to no money, when they can just go to a rich country and get a higher salary because the government isn't as corrupt? This leads to a small amount of doctors in the poor countries.

To help target these problems, I think we should reduce the hours of studying but increase efficiency in those studies. Decreasing the hours of studying can help tremendously, it reduces fatigue and stress by a long shot also increasing the efficiency of it like making it more enjoyable and much easier. And to resolve the wage issue is to financially support the poor countries with better trade routes and more donations to them.

The cause for the shortage of doctors in India it’s because they don’t get paid a lot and if they aren’t paid a lot, after they finish the doctor school they go to get a job for that profile that they were and after a month of work hard in india they see how much they were paid and after they see they go in another country that it pays better then India and another example is that in india there are a lots of doctors that are reaching retirement age so that means when they do retire there could be no more doctors if all the young ones leave. To help these problems we should send more money to india or we can send to them more machinery that are helping with making the money, then they can increase the payment for doctors and a lot more jobs that are in india and thats how we can solve the problems

I think the root causing the global doctor shortages are quiting from training because they realize it’s difficult to become a doctor, or doctors may quit the job because they think they aren’t payed well. But if they love their job, they might not quit it, because if you like what you do, the money doesn’t matter.
Another root causing the global doctor shortages in many countries is that people study so much in their native countries, but they leave their country because of the unnecessary equipment or poor conditions.

  • victorious_leaf | Mayflower Centre | Romania 18 Nov 2022

Since joining the European Union (EU), in 2007, Romania has been dealing with a huge emigration of medics. I think that many people here, in Romania are studying medicine more for the money than the joy of helping people.
As many as the country's doctors flee the system for better-paying jobs, the profesionalism of the medical staff who choose to remain is increasingly in question.
Several hospitals outside the capital of Romania, Bucharest deal with the lack of the personal.
In 2016, nearly 10 deaths per 1,000 live births were reported in Romania - a significant drop from 15 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2003. Dealing with these shocking statistics could affect a doctor's mental health.
I think that it would be a good idea to give the people more money and more security for the future. Maybe that would make them more into staying in Romania.

The medical profession is very beautiful, but some do not like it and some love it, and there are those who dream of becoming a doctor and there are those who never dream of it, but I say that medicine is one of the greatest professions and studies because through medicine you can save many lives And treating large numbers as well, but I think the reason that makes people turn away from medicine is because it needs a high average of high school, and also there are people who are afraid of medicine because there are those who hate blood, and some of them are afraid of entering Operations, and among them are those who fear that one of the patients will lose their lives during an operation or otherwise, so the doctor blames himself. I think that people think that the medical profession is difficult for them, but medicine needs those who master it and who have the courage and the strength of the heart.
I think that we cannot do anything for people who hate to enter operations and other things that make it difficult for them to enter the medical profession, but we can convince some who love medicine very much, but are afraid that they will not master it through experimentation with an animal first or Experimenting with games and other things, or watching many videos on the Internet that talk about medicine and give them more experience and enthusiasm, so they enter the world of medicine and become good at their work (the medical profession is difficult, but it becomes easy for those who love it).

What i can say about all this is that ,Doctors are not well paid ,their work is too much and they are paid less compared to the work they do and they also have families to take care of not only patients .Most doctors do not sleep, they are ever awake to look after their patients and others do not even get time for their families because of their work yet they are less paid.It is very expensive to learn medicine and becoming a Professional Doctor needs requires too much money and a long time , so that makes some people live their dream career for other careers .All this will make the world a disaster for living with out doctors because most of the future doctors will end their careers in the present.
What we should do if to fight for the doctors rights and the government should do something for the doctors payment and bring unity among us .

As all we know that doctors are considered as god . doctor saves one's life . there is a lack of doctors . there may be several reasons like : low wages offered to them , many more doctors are in this field , in rural areas there is no hospital which can be a part of the reason . we need doctors in our life . whether we have cold or a big disease the first one we contact is the doctor only . in my opinion several this can de done from preventing this like I wish the Ministry of Health to pay more attention to doctors And raise their salaries, and get appreciation from the people, and my advice to you is to take care of your health because it is the most precious thing we have. to conclude my answer i respect each and every doctor . they are real time warriors and saviors ..

    What causes doctor shortages?
In my opinion, there are many reasons for doctor shortages.
One of them:Delaying or reducing their salaries and we all know that doctors deserve everything good for them Because they do their best to treat patients, if there weren't any doctors, probably half of the world would be sick or even dead! They also risk themselves in times of war to treat the wounded, so doctors deserve to give them all their salaries and what they need.
The second reason may be because there aren't Jobs for doctors, and there are many unemployed doctors, which leads them to travel abroad to search for job opportunities so, I think the government should provide jobs for them and support them with everything.

  • supportive_clarinet | Scoris International School | Uganda 18 Nov 2022

Around the world there are many doctors being employed, but hospitals have realized the high number of doctors resigning from their jobs, one of the main reasons of shortages of doctors is lack of fair payment. Doctors are also fatigued and frustrated of the long days and night due to the fact of late and long shifts. The fear of loosing their patients in their hands makes doctors lose confidence. I think by loosening the weight of the workload and distributing the work evenly between the doctors can solve some of the cause of the shortage, the hospitals should offer at least a one year training course to make doctors more confident about what they are doing, the doctors should be appreciated not only in pay but also recognition to boost their motivation, I believe the doctors should also engage themselves with their patients to create a bond and more freedom between both individuals. This way doctors will find more peace in their workplaces.

  • wondrous_lime | Scoris International School | Uganda 18 Nov 2022

I believe reasons for global shortage of doctors are as follows. Firstly is the education system, and another is the low motivation of a person who wants to become a doctor. And there is also laziness. People of now days like the sweetness and pleasures that came with such big jobs like being a doctor, lawyer, engineer and more others, but they never want to put in the hard work and they also love taking shortcuts to success not putting in mind that the more you take corners the harder you fall and to get back up will take more effort energy strength than if you just took the right way.
I feel that to solve the current situation that we have at hand is we should work on the education systems because most people are under the influence that studying to become a doctor is really hard. I also feel that still in the education sector we should making studying to become like doctor enjoyable. We should also teach how becoming a doctor helps a lot of people and also. l feel like government can also motivate the doctors by providing for the some basic needs to motivate people. and as a community we should spread word about all the goodness that comes with bein a doctor and we should also make our current doctors feel appreciated because they deserve it and more.

Despite the increase of diseases and pandemics in the world, doctor shortages in a world wide problem that is growing very fast. Possible causes are long period of studying, low pay, poor working conditions, scarcity of jobs among others. As the root causes, I would consider low pay, long period of studying and poor working conditions.
    • I would like to kick off with low pay. Doctors work more than they are paid. In some countries doctors are paid less than teachers but yet in deep detail, a doctor deserves more than a teacher. They wake up early in the morning, go to their work stations and work with a lot of concentration keeping an eye on the patients and drugs administered to them. This causes a lot of fatigue because the doctor doesn't have to let his guard down or the patient may suffer further injuries and perhaps death. In this type stressful working environment, doctors really deserve more than they are being paid currently which forces most to live their home countries hoping to find better working places that offer higher payment options. Which causes a shortage of doctors in their home countries.
    • Next is long period of studying. In most countries getting government scholarships is hard and tuition for the courses like medicine and surgery, doctrine. are very expensive so therefore many people don't make it through mainly not because they don't want to but because of high costs of learning.
    • To sum everything up is poor working conditions. Doctors risk their lives treating patients of all kinds of diseases but the fact that they are usually not provided with enough protective gear and equipment when handling patients of chronic diseases makes them to fall victim of the diseases hence dying and reducing the number of experienced doctors like many that were lost in the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition the doctors are given low salary and sometimes it delays which has a negative impact on their families as they aren't in position to provide full basic needs. This makes doctors think they are not being appreciated for their hard work hence quitting and discouraging those that want to be doctors and thus shortage of doctors.

  • generous_coconut | Govt. Comprehensive Boys High School | Pakistan 18 Nov 2022

Well, there are many causes, but a very important cause is being paid less than a doctor deserves. .
I suggest that we relieve them and not tire them out by taking care of our health by eating fruits and vegetables and staying away from harmful foods and frying pans and by following safety instructions and not polluting the environment so as not to accumulate respiratory diseases all appreciated

I imagine that doctors leave their jobs for different reasons, and I also think that there are lots of different reasons that people are not actually getting the jobs as doctors.

One reason why I think people are leaving jobs as doctors is because many people such as myself struggle with anxiety and when you actually see someone's life come to an end it just really makes your anxiety come to life leading on to my next one, the pressure is unbearable especially as a surgeon knowing that a person's life is in your hands.

There is also another way to look at it, it is extremely hard to get a job as good as a doctor because you have to train for ten years, and I imagine that the training must be very hard and very expensive. You have to be very talented.

This is a very interesting discussion. I would like to bring my discussion to the case study of my country, Nigeria first. People is a shortage in Nigeria because:
1.) Many students are thinking twice to study medicine.
2.) Students who eventually become doctors in Nigeria move to work in other countries leaving behind a shortage in other countries.

1.) In my country, Nigeria, the reason why fewer people are studying medicine is because of factors like the cost of study, and length of the study period. I know this because I wanted to be a doctor at some point in my life and I have made my research based on my country. In Nigeria, the cost of studying medicine is very high. Many people prefer to go to public universities because the cost of study is less than that of private universities but there are downsides to public universities and the major one is: The incessant strikes organized by the ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities) that are effected mostly in public universities. This prolongs the already long study period for medicine by years. Many students have really been affected by this and because of this, they have switched to courses with shorter time of the study. I have a friend that is studying medicine at a public university. This is one of the comments he made while we were discussing it some time back.
"I really do not want to study medicine anymore I was supposed to graduate years ago but because of the ASUU strike, I have not graduated yet. I am really getting frustrated. I feel like I will be wasting my time following my passion of studying medicine so I will switch to an easier course"
It is not uncommon to hear stories like this where I live and undergraduates who hear stories like this quickly change their minds about studying medicine.

Moving to private universities, the cost of studying medicine in Nigerian private universities ranges from (1,000,000 to 4,500,000 naira) per year which most families cannot afford to pay. So many people leave studying medicine out of their options.

2.) There are many push factors for medical students out of Nigeria and into other countries. They are things like poor salaries, poor working conditions, and so on. Doctors leaving Nigeria to work abroad have now become the freshest thing since sliced bread and it is causing a brain drain and a shortage of doctors in Nigeria which is not good for our system. When students who end up studying medicine in Nigeria despite all odds come to look for work in Nigerian hospitals, they are paid stipends compared to what it took for them to study the course and this discourages them from working in Nigeria. The working conditions are also poor. There was a story in Nigeria of a hospital in Nigeria where when surgery was taking place, the power source went out and since there was no other power source at that moment, a rechargeable lamp was used to finish the surgery. The patient still survived after the surgery but it is because of working conditions like this that doctors are leaving Nigeria for other places.

Usually people choose a career based on various points like a career they love and a career that is profitable that's able to make them wealthy. We can't deny that medicine career is a very profitable business, but at the same time it is so hard and the path for being a doctor bumpy with a lot of obstacles. Being a doctor will take you a lot of time like 5-7 years at first to make general health medicine then to be specialized in a specific issue you have to learn more years for about approximately 5 years. For that reason people search for other jobs that can be easier with less time taking and at the same time profitable. So here comes the technology field that doesn't just have high demand but it's also a lot more profitable with less time of learning, for that people are avoiding medicine and searching for other majors.
As a personal experience I always hoped and wanted to be a doctor specialized in cardiovascular system, but then I thought of it why wouldn't I think of something easier that take me less time of learning, so I found software engineering as a major that I'm in love with and it can being a lot of money and with less years of learning, so I found it the perfect major to learn.

  • emotional_meaning | Rhemaville Christian Academy | Nigeria 18 Nov 2022

There are many causes of doctor shortages.
Doctors are well engaged in there duties and the years that is needed to study medicine is longer than that of other courses. The question that we should be asking ourselves is how many people are ready to to put in that amount of years on studies.
A major cause is the recognition of doctors, when you are putting in much effort into something and your effort is not seen it will make you feel less of importance or spending time on an effortless job and most doctors today feel that way and it is making them draw out of medicine and look for occupations that their effort will be more recognised and respected. I also feel due to the increase in diseases the demand for doctors is way more than the normal supply for doctors.

  • credible_emotion | Shouka Prep Girls School | Occupied Palestinian Territory 18 Nov 2022

I believe that the reason for the lack of a number of doctors is that they believe that the field of medicine is exhausting, tiring and difficult, so they resort to other fields, as well as the lack of a suitable environment for learning medicine in some countries and the lack of financial resources that the student needs in poor countries to travel abroad to learn and the fear of some of making medical mistakes that lead the life of the patient or put him in danger.

  • victorious_concept | Shohour Public High School | Lebanon 18 Nov 2022

The world suffers from the problem of a shortage of doctors, especially in developing countries, because they lack the ability to build medical colleges and support them adequately, and this happens especially in rural areas. On the other hand, doctors emigrate to other countries to take more income than they receive, and this is another reason that leads to a decline in health care. In addition, the doctor's psycological health is another reason, as he may fear losing one of his patients and living in a state of grief and blaming himself. Likewise, this profession exhausts the doctor and makes him live in stress and lose his ability to absorb that huge amount of work . So do you think that we should first help those people to skip their fears and encourage them to learn and work hard to become doctors ? Or country it self should find a solution ? Which one is the main cause of this problem ?

  • lovely_meteor | Rhemaville Christian Academy | Nigeria 18 Nov 2022

Ok i think that the main reason why Doctor elope to other country is because of the insufficient payment in the organisation. My aunt is a Doctor in a teaching hospital but due to low wage rate of doctor her work mate are now eloping to other country .they have requested more raise but it seems that , there orders were decline, some even got sacked due to the request . so my aunt had an oppurtunity to leave when she passed the doctor examinations . Others doctor find new oppournities due to better pay rate in other country's , for a better standard of living. And some doctors leave due to lack of facilities in the hospital some lives could be saved but for the lack of facilities they left to placed that they can save as much lives as possible due to great health facilities

In some contries, ministry of education is very strict in allowing the students who want to enter medicine fields to enter as if they don’t accept them only if they score the full mark in the study, and that off course is one of the causes of doctor shortages.
And from her we can ask a question: Is the ministry of education wrong in such law ? Or It should be like that in order to save the maintain of doctors and people’s lives.

Many have long dreamed of medical school because it is considered to be the highest and most humane profession..... Many parents dreamed of seeing their children study medicine.... But we always find it difficult to realize our dreams.... Working as a doctor is not as easy as others think...... Here are some of these difficulties... First, length of medical education, about 10 years of study in most countries.... Their financial burdens are expensive..... Also the night shift which is stressful to the doctor.... Psychological and physical stress due to the long hours of work as well as seeing the problems and deaths faced by doctors.... I remember watching Grey's Anatomy.... Their suffering in treating patients, how they should treat patients with kindness despite their fatigue, how anxious they are when performing surgery, and sleeping on the floor because of the severity of fatigue, exemplifies the reality of doctors' lives. One of the major problems is the decline in doctors' wages, which has led many doctors to migrate in search of a better standard of living..... The Ministry of Health should be working to increase their salaries, to reduce the emigration of good doctors...

We have many reasons for the shortage of doctors in the world. The first reason is the economic problems in most countries of the world, which do not enable most students who want knowledge to reach their goal. Also, there are students who enter medicine and then, after a year or more, change their career path, but this reason I do not consider convincing because whoever aspires to achieve his dream (if it is to become a doctor) will face all the challenges and difficulties that face him. There are also doctors who have graduated and practice their work, but due to mishandling by their managers, they may prefer to separate from work rather than work under pressure and somewhat servitude, but in this case they have to strive to secure independent work in which they will be rulers, not ruled, not to resort to abandonment. their work.

I do not have the desire to be a doctor, although the medical profession is one of the most desirable professions, but it is not without defects and negatives, which are represented in the doctor facing the risk of contracting any infection that may be widespread as a result of their direct dealings with patients, in addition to that the doctor may fall into A catastrophe of misdiagnosis for some cases, which leads to the death of the patient and his subjection to legal accountability, and because the doctor suffers from permanent exhaustion as a result of working for long, continuous hours without rest, and because he may be exposed to a catastrophic death of the patient during surgery as a result of the occurrence of some internal complications in the body, and also doctors may be exposed Radiation into harmful radiation that makes them vulnerable to various injuries and health risks.

At the beginning of Covid-19, a lot of doctors has been needed to cover for the virus and posters has been stuck in public transport telling us to wear mask, stay two meters apart and more. What’s more worse is that there are not only people suffering from Covid-19, but there are also people suffering from other illnesses, diseases, such as: cancer
and loads more.A good way to understand this is to imagine a thin glass table placed with buckets of water. Similar to this, each year, hospitals also have certain amount of patients, too. If you put more buckets of water on the weak glass table it will eventually shatter. All that is left is the shattered pieces on the floor, unable to control the water into splashing onto them.
This works the same for hospitals too, as the numbers of patients grow larger, doctors won’t be able to handle it.

There are many problems that cause a shortage of doctors, including the very high cost, and the length of the study period. Some of them need 8 years to enter the field of medicine, and some of them need 4 years or even more than that, and psychological pressure affects a lot on the student. In my opinion, getting a doctor A high salary, in addition to that, they were told that they would give them an amount and a high salary, but they gave some, and others did not take (this is an inequality), so he is the one who stays up to treat the sick, and he is the one who does not see his family much because of his work, and he is the one who studied and tired to achieve This dream, which is the one who stays awake in the middle of the night, he deserves a nice and high salary, and enough universities must be provided for the field of medicine specifically, because it is not a simple thing, but rather it is saving the lives of patients who are between life and death by only one hair. This does not mean that we neglect Our health and we do not care about it, it is more precious than everything. I also have something else, and it is very important that we do not tire the patients, because if we eat healthy food, wash what we eat well, and exercise, this leads to an increase in immunity, and thus the number of patients will decrease.

  • centered_robin | Shouka Prep Girls School | Occupied Palestinian Territory 19 Nov 2022

1 I think that the reason for the lack of doctors is their tendency to other jobs or their love for other jobs, because they believe that the medical profession has become widespread and that they are tired of this number of doctors

2 Or the other reason is that whoever needs to become a doctor wants a lot of money for that

3 The other reason is that they need many years of study to enable them to graduate from the medical specialty, and they can be rejected after these long years.

4 Or because the medical profession is very difficult and you want to make a lot of effort so as not to lose the patient, this negatively affects the doctor, so losing the patient is a great responsibility.

5 Or because of the spread of epidemics and their fear of infection due to exposure to many patients.

  • committed_tsunami | Beit Hanoun Prep Girls A School | Occupied Palestinian Territory 19 Nov 2022

I think that the reason for the shortage of doctors may be the lack of job opportunities and manpower, which is that there is not enough space in hospitals to work.
Another reason is that the income they provide to the doctors is not liked by the doctors or is not sufficient for them. It is not sufficient for the household expenses and the requirements of his children and wife, so he resigns to look for another job.
Doctors may be overworked and tired after work
And there are doctors who resign when they cannot find a cure for the patient's illness, for fear of losing the patient (if he dies under their hands).

Psychiatry among doctors makes them more introverted and lonely, and in some countries the high cost of studying medicine is a major obstacle for them. Also, the medical profession is very dangerous and patients’ lives must be taken care of and their diseases treated. One of the greatest professions that may serve humanity is the medical profession
They are the ones who help humanity eliminate many diseases and perform operations that save some.
However, we may find a significant shortage in the number of doctors in some countries for many reasons, including low wages or salary deductions. Is it reasonable for a person who works a day or two extra hours and studies throughout his life to keep up with the development of medicines and operations, that he cannot secure his daily sustenance or livelihood? On the other hand, the long working hours that doctors spend away from their homes and their children, they need to live with their children all the days of their childhood.
Or during surgical operations, doctors may get injured despite sterilization and taking precautions, and then some infectious diseases may be transmitted that may take their lives. If we were able to secure everything that doctors need, we might find an increase in their numbers.
Let us mention, for example, Germany. We currently find the huge number of doctors who have emigrated from our country to it. When I asked one of them, he answered the many privileges offered to them, such as housing or living insurance. They even provide them with work during their studies, and they can attract their children and wives with them, and the father is not in a country and his family is in a country.
Here we say that if you honor a person, you find him creative.

Perhaps in the previous era, there was a shortage of doctors But now, in light of the era of modern technology, prosperity, and the large number of universities that support medicine departments, specializations, and private hospitals, we no longer have this crisis as before. For example, in my country and in the alley that I live in, there are about 20 doctors, between those studying medicine and those who finished and joined a job. Medicine has become an easy profession, especially after there are universities that do not look at the level of the student more than they look at the exorbitant financial return for studying medicine, not to mention specialization. Therefore, I see that this is the main reason for the overcrowding of doctors, not their shortage.

I think that the shortage of doctors graduating from my country is very low because the entry rate for surgery in my country is 98% scientific and higher. Therefore, few of them get this rate and enter medicine as well as the high costs of studying medicine. Many of them have high rates and cannot pay the costs. Therefore, few of them are accepted for the scholarship. Therefore, many of my country do not want to enter medicine because of these reasons and also the lack of hospitals in my country. Their daughter goes abroad to study. These are the reasons that caused the shortage of doctors
I would like to say that although there are doctors, few have sufficient experience in medicine and the majority do not have sufficient experience and may cause the death of a person. Therefore, I say they should make the rate of studying medicine 90% and above, provide an opportunity to study medicine inside the country, reduce the cost of studying and also have medical teachers with sufficient experience to teach medicine...

What are the root causes of the global doctor shortage? I believe that developing countries suffer from a shortage of doctors due to the limited number of medical schools and their limited capabilities and emigration abroad. Doctors can always make more money and enjoy better working conditions when working in countries other than their own.
What should be done about it?
1- Increasing the number of medical colleges, the size of classrooms, and increasing the number of medical college graduates.

2- Easing the requirements for admission to the Faculty of Medicine, such as canceling the need for a bachelor’s degree in some disciplines.

3- Reducing the costs of studying at the Faculty of Medicine (free or reduced) and providing more financial assistance to students.

4- Improving doctors' hopes for their future career path, by reducing the use of temporary jobs.

5Improving doctors' wages, and thus improving market competitiveness in front of whom They want to be doctors.

In my point of view, the shortage of doctors lies in several reasons. First, every person, from his childhood, dreams of becoming a doctor, but plans to study medicine in countries other than his own, or he can study medicine and travel, so the reason for emigration is a big reason for the loss of doctors in the country. The other reason is the low number of doctors in hospitals and the high demand for government hospitals, which are a haven for the simple and the middle class.

    Hello.

There are many reasons for the shortage of doctors around the world, and among these reasons: In some countries of the world, doctors do not receive a sufficient salary from this job, and we all know that the cost of learning medicine is expensive and not everyone can learn it, and also death due to wars. I will talk specifically about Palestine, because everyone knows that there are many wars In Palestine, a large number of doctors die because of wars, and we do not forget the Ukraine war as well, in which a number of doctors died.
Therefore, I hope that the cost of learning medicine will be reduced, because there are people who cannot learn medicine because of the financial cost, even though they are very educated and wish to help people through this field, and there are people who learn medicine and engage in it only to earn money, not to help people and society, and only that is all.
Waiting for i comments on the comment that you posted.

    Thank you.

In my opinion, the reasons for the shortage of doctors are:

1-Not giving the doctor the monthly amount he deserves, even though he works hard and spends most of his time treating patients, which led to the emigration of a large percentage of doctors abroad.

2-High tuition costs and the length of the study period..

3-Many students resort to study technological disciplines

One of the solutions that must be followed is improving work conditions and environment, providing doctors with financial fairness, and providing them with legal protection that will bring back immigrants.

Another problem is either the teaching or the students interest to understand because in my country we are having many students at the universities who are ending up failing their exams and very few granduandsin medicine and for those who succeed opt for jobs abroad hence shortage of doctors in our country

Global Doctor shortage is one of the biggest atrocities that the world is facing right now .
Teenagers are not willing to take medicine as their career option because doctors have a very hectic schedule moreover the salaries paid to the doctors are quite less as compared to other professions adding on to lack of good quality of living. Also the lack of medical institutions have led to acute doctor shortage across the globe and the expense that is involved in private medical institution is so much as a result the poor people are not able to afford it , this had made the situation worse .
We can tackle this situation in many ways :
Firstly setting up enough medical institutions to increase the number of medical graduates, secondly bolstering medical profession in schools so that the young generation can realize their role and opt for this noble profession in future, thirdly increasing the pay of doctors and assuring them favour in government schemes and lastly giving a round of applause to all the health care workers .

  • busy_temperature | Rafah Prep Girls | Occupied Palestinian Territory 21 Nov 2022

I think that the root causes of the shortage of doctors may be due to their salaries, because they do not take their full right from the salary of all doctors. They do their work properly Some of them spend long days and hours in the hospital because there are not enough doctors. Some of them also do not sleep and do their best to save lives. Some people dream. To be accompanied by doctors in the future, but they are not able to spend the money because it is very expensive and difficult. Therefore, we must appreciate their tiredness and staying up late and leaving their children and their homes
The government should give doctors what they deserve so that we don't lose them.

  • cultured_gazelle | Shouka Prep Girls School | Occupied Palestinian Territory 21 Nov 2022

The root causes that lead to a shortage of doctors are the high financial cost and the psychological pressure experienced by the educated person, which leads to introversion, isolation from people and low wages. This what I had said concerns the world in general.
But what my residential area (Gaza) suffers from is a very large shortage of doctors, meaning that the patient may die on his way to the hospital. Moreover, the siege, injustice and criminality of the Israeli occupation have the most prominent role in the shortage of doctors, for example, when a university student almost finishes his education He wants to complete his education abroad, but the biggest catastrophe is that the occupation prevents him from doing so. This student sits sad and gloomy and becomes distrustful of himself and says I can't, but in fact he can, and thus the doctors are lacking.
As for what should be done about this, it is necessary to provide free universities in order to study medicine, treat students’ psychological stress, increase wages, improve the work environment for doctors, and close the doors through which doctors leave.

The world Health Organization refers to lack about 43 million doctors and nurses around the world .
The reasons for the lack of doctors' numbers all over the world are many ; first of all Mdicine Colledge puts restrictions to let the studeants to join such as the high marks , high fees and long study period .
Doctors and nurses face many difficulties work long hours and in all shits .
Also they work in E ids , wars , catastrophes , holidies .... etc .
In some countries doctors get low salaries .
Because of the lack of doctor's numbers , doctors should do their best and work over time , they feel tired and sleepy and that threats the patients , safty .
Also patients may die while they wait their role in the health care .
To solve the previous problems , I suggest rising medicine colledges numbers , decreasing the university fees , and Remove restrictions to join to the medicine colldges Doctors should get the highest sarlaries in the country , as well as incentives better for doctors .

I think the reasons for the shortage of doctors are: 1- Learning medicine is expensive. 2-This profession is a matter of life or death. 3- Fear. 4- The difficulty of this profession. In my opinion, the reason for the lack of animal doctors is the underestimation of this profession, perhaps they do not realize that this animal is a spirit that eats, drinks, lives and cries. I would like to become a cardiologist, but I am afraid that someone will die because of me. Perhaps this is the case for some. I suggest writing a book called (Your Career Path) and that this book includes reinforcement and guiding phrases so that the student forgets the negative aspects of this profession. Some people focus on the negatives of something and forget the positives, such as saving people's lives.

In my society, I have seen many healthcare assistants and doctors and I personally consulted them but the reason to pursue medical was appalling! They elucidated how they had a great family and peer pressure to gather that ‘high reputation’ in the community and earn enough wealth to keep themselves contented. If we will compactly analyse data, we will see this issue as a major drawback for pursuing medical. Nonetheless, there are hidden gems in the world who are intrigued in pursuing there passion for medical and global science. Nevertheless, every occupation if given respect are at the same level.

From my point of view, I see that the lack of doctors is exhaustion and extreme fatigue, as they need a rest from time to time, and also the lack of appreciation of their value in society by giving them a small salary in exchange for their continuous hard and tiring work. The state must value them and raise their status, and thus become doctors
I also see that the spread of infectious viral diseases is a direct reason for the shortage of doctors, such as the Covid-19 virus, and also that they do not see their families for long periods, as they miss their families and they also have the right to spend enough time with their families.
We, the people, must also take care of our health by exercising, eating healthy food, avoiding harmful foods, and sleeping enough to reduce the burden on doctors.

People, and the doctor is respected and appreciated because of his hard work in the lives of patients. The reasons for the shortage of doctors are many

    1- Difficulty studying medicine

2- Not having enough money to continue studying medicine, because studying medicine costs a lot of money. Many dream of studying medicine, but money is a major obstacle in the way of this.

3- Sexual discrimination in countries that prevent girls from studying medicine, and in other countries where most doctors are male, which has led to a decrease in the percentage of doctors.

In today's situation, there is shortage of doctors but also increase in unemployment; then, Why don't unemployed people join doctoring?
    Here is why...
Well, in my opinion, there are many causes of global doctor shortage, but some of the rooted causes can be said as due to overload of work, underpaid, exhaustion, fatigue, lack of appreciation, cost of study and long term of study. These causes are mostly likely to be in any country in the world. Students are thinking twice to take a step towards being a doctor.
Doctors today are unsatisfied with their job and many of them has already retired as well which is causing a serious problem about shortage. The problem is that doctors pay a lot of fees for their study but when it's time to work; they are not being paid as much as they have spent. They are not being paid according to their work. And they cannot recover their expense even after earning which has create a great problem.
Being unfairly paid is the problem that students face AFTER being a doctor, but before being a doctor or before graduating THEY should pay fees for their studies and students are taking their step back not only worrying about their salary in the future but also worrying about the fees they should pay at the present. Also the time that takes to complete their studies is too long that they feel that it is just a waste of time.
Doctors are given so much pressure during both the study and work that they feel exhausted and become forced to leave the job.
Now when there is lack of doctors and increase in number of patients; Patients are not getting enough human resources to care them which is leading to increase in number of death. This is truly a very serious topic to talk about.
Now the question remains: What should be done about this?
The thing that needs to be done is by governments by increasing the salary of doctors and decreasing the amount of fees they need to pay. Also, easy and fast method of teaching should be managed. The next thing to be done is by we people by maintaining our health care by ourselves as mush as possible. This helps in reducing the work load of doctors.
Doctors are form of god who gives hundreds of people life. So they deserve to be paid more.

I think that there is a major reason for the shortage of doctors in my country that the percentage of male doctors is higher than that of female doctors, because it is normal in my country for males to travel abroad to complete their education. But females cannot travel, and this thing helped in the lack of doctors, and there is another reason why fathers should not allow females to complete their studies, and they allow males to do so. When males complete their education, they travel outside the country due to wars and disease outbreaks and to get better job opportunities. As well as the increase in the number of doctors who are requesting to resign from work due to the pressures they experienced in the outbreak of the Corona virus....

There may be a shortage of doctors because the government cannot pay salaries
For doctors or paying for their equipment in some countries, some medical professions are not studied, which leads to travel to other countries to learn them.
The other country may have the most opportunity to work in it with a medical degree, and this causes a shortage of doctors, which leads to a deficit in obtaining nursing services in hospitals, and this leads to the deterioration of the health condition of people and the spread of epidemics.
In some countries, it is not desirable for a girl to study in the medical profession, as a matter of customs and traditions. Also, the majority of parents do not accept that their daughters travel abroad, which leads to a shortage of doctors.
Therefore, I hope that countries that have a shortage of doctors will eliminate the education of medicine in all its forms for both sexes, and that the state will be a role model for their students in the future, and that they reduce the cost of studying.

I believe that the causes of global doctor shortages
    1) The reluctance of young people to study medicine for reasons including the long years of study, the high financial cost of studying medicine, the low financial compensation compared to the salaries of other fields, the difficulty of social communication due to the conditions of the medical professions that make the doctor absent from home a lot, and the existence of many professions that have the same financial return with less effort, and studying medicine does notIt stops at a certain limit, because medicine is in continuous development, so the state must provide scholarships and also academic guidance during the high school stage, presenting doctors as role models and highlighting their role in the media
    2) In my country, one of the reasons for the lack of doctors is to dispense with doctors in the way of retirement when the doctor reaches the age of 60. It is possible for the doctor to stop at a certain age from performing difficult operations, but he should not be dispensed with and can be used in the field of training, and in the field of research and medical studies. Therefore, doctors must be excluded from compulsory retirement
    3) Doctors appoint employees and managers of a department so that the doctor becomes an employee who signs the employees’ leaves and transactions instead of practicing his work as a doctor.

First // I believe that the main reason for the global shortage of doctors, especially in recent times 1/ is the spread of the Corona virus (Covid_19), which has led to an increase in the number of patients beyond the capacity of doctors and health systems and the lack of preparation for such matters, 2/ the inability of people wishing in this field to Enrollment in the Faculty of Medicine due to the high costs of this specialization) so the need for money became the main reason for that, and there is a point I would like to focus on is that we all know that the goal of any business is to obtain money, so in the recent period online marketing has become profitable without getting tired or bothering and in different ways It is easy, and many people of intellect have resorted to it.. 3/ Not receiving adequate wages that cover their life obligations.. Secondly// And I believe that the appropriate solutions to this problem include the following: // 1: Good preparation for any sudden pandemic by developing a future strategic plan to deal with it ./2: I think it is very important to train non-doctors from the professions whose work is related to hospitals, so that they can be used in times of need and fill that deficit after completing the necessary training.//3: Develop a fair wage scheme that takes into account the workload and an appreciation for their efforts and provide incentives for those who are more qualified and distinguished./, 4: easing conditions And the costs of joining the Faculty of Medicine and improving the wages of doctors, /5: And the last reason, from my personal point of view, I see that the lives of others are a great responsibility that falls on them and because they do not want to feel guilty because of any medical error.

i think the root cause of global doctor shortage is most developing nations often have doctor shortages because of limited numbers and capacity of medical schools and because of international migration since physicians can usually earn much more money and enjoy better working conditions in other countries, the leave their current country to another in search of greener pastures.

  • frank_outcome | Bomas Academy | Nigeria 22 Nov 2022

I believe that the phenomenon of "brain drain" is a major cause of the doctor shortage. Trained professional doctors leave the country to work in other countries where they believe their career opportunities and pay are better. Another reason for the shortage of doctors is that many doctors do not want to work in certain areas, such as rural areas, and as a result, there is a shortage of doctors for the rural population.
More incentives should be given to trained doctors such as an increase in their salaries and or grants towards helping with the education of their children for example.

  • content_shark | Tarun Madhyamik Vidyalaya | Nepal 22 Nov 2022

If you are talking about the shortage of doctor, then the thing that comes on our mind is what may be the total population of doctor in the world , there are about 9.2 million doctors among the 7.837 billion citizens around the whole world. It is not too obvious that there should be a lot of numbers of doctors, but also we need to ensure that health is our priority and also our main charm we have been getting. Days to days numbers of patients get to the hospital, but we see very few numbers of doctors are seen. In my opinion the main problem of the shortage of doctors around the world is that the wages is not given according to the work, lack of time schedules, lack of their self- confidence, lack of interest and many more. But the main thing to be ensured is that every doctors are the one saaving the life of people, curing the one in their day to day life. Doctors are the one going through every work and I think doctors gives their hark work so much that they have ust forget to livr their own life, and due to the pressure of work doctos have found very few time to spend the pleasures with their family members. The main causes also includes exhaustion, fatigue, and dissatisfaction with their job status and wages, in addition to their lack of appreciation from governments, and the reluctance of many to join the field of medicine due to its difficulty and cruelty. These are the main cause of doctors shortages.

While we need to think solution of the problems as well, some of them includes: Government needs to pay attention , a federal funding program that would reduce the overall burden of the cost of medical school, the country needs to remove barriers to create new accredited schools and training positions for physicians, they say, including developing shorter and less expensive ways to train doctors, government should pay or give the salary as per their work and the hard work daya and night. We also need to remember that, MEDICINES CURE DISEASES,BUT ONLY DOCTORS CAN CURE PATIENTS''. So we need to understand the importance of doctors.

The reason for the shortage of doctors is due to the rich countries importing competencies, as 57 countries suffer from a severe shortage of medical staff and medical services, including the Arab region. It causes a lack of turnout to the Faculty of Medicine
By this we say that the massive shortage of doctors and nurses causes preventable diseases and death in most parts of the developing world, while health care professionals are looking for jobs in rich countries. Every problem must have a solution, and one of the most prominent solutions to this problem is to attract countries to their children and provide them with a suitable work environment And the capabilities that help them in their work and the provision of free government education, especially for qualified students

First, easing the conditions for admission to medical school, such as eliminating the need for a bachelor's degree, thus making this educational path more attractive to potential students.
Secondly, reducing the costs of studying at the Faculty of Medicine, such as providing subsidies for free college fees and providing more financial aid.
Third, increase the role of the National Health Service, which helps provide debt-free opportunities for primary care physicians

  • intuitive_reflection | Bomas Academy | Nigeria 22 Nov 2022

The capacity of medical schools and their limited numbers, particularly in developing countries, is one reason for the global doctor shortage, in my opinion. Another reason is that doctors can earn more money and have better working conditions in other countries. A third reason is the number of graduates and the retention rates of the profession, particularly in developing countries. The money required to train doctors is quite high, and in most places, families are unable to meet their debts, which may prevent their children from completing school.
The government can increase the capacity of medical schools, provide necessary equipment in universities, and try to eliminate poverty as much as possible. Increased funding and training for resident doctors, increased use of technology, innovative care delivery, and efficient teamwork among professionals are all things that can be done.

think the reason for the lack of doctors is the increase in the number of doctors who emigrate abroad. When the doctor obtains the certificate, he goes and searches for an environment and a country that provides him with all his requirements, respects and appreciates him, and makes his monthly income high. Also, because of the doctor’s exhaustion from working continuously, he works almost 8 hours a day for a monthly income. Low This makes him think about changing his specialization, and I say that if you want a solution to this problem, you must raise the status of the doctor, reduce his working hours, and raise his average monthly salary

  • rational_knowledge | Shouka Prep Girls School | Occupied Palestinian Territory 22 Nov 2022

So that a person can live without fear of chronic and various diseases.

I believe in the phrase that there is a difference between someone who dreams and someone who wakes up to carry out the dream. My sister, who is older than me, entered medicine, but when I looked at her condition, she did not sleep for two days, and if she slept, she slept for two hours. I asked her once. Let me take a minute and imagine your sight, and you are happy and proud of me. She also said that I imagine myself wearing a white coat and treating patients. This is a wonderful feeling and I get paid for it. I believe that the shortage of doctors is associated with several effects, namely the decline in the quality of health care provided to patients as a result of the short duration of the doctor's visit.

Studying medicine is not an easy task, but its shortcomings are what make the shortage of doctors a difficult issue. Its costs are very high..as it requires a lot of medical tools and references...etc..not to mention the long time in training shifts..in my opinion, as long as your goal is medicine, you will succeed in it and you will overcome all obstacles in it. Therefore, there are other reasons that lead to a shortage of doctors.. For example, the monthly salary of a doctor may be low in some countries, and the weakness of capabilities and the inadequacy of the legal environment, so the doctor is forced to migrate, not alone, but a large number of doctors.. We can put solutions to stop this shortage.. For example Such as changing the educational curricula of medical colleges and institutes.. and continuous measurement of performance and fair wages for all doctors..

There are many reasons to which there may be a doctor shortage. In many low-income countries people cannot afford to become a doctor due to having to work from a young age in order to help financially support their families. This means they cannot gain the education they need in order to become a doctor. This removes possibility from people as they can't afford to educate themselves in that way. Further if a person from an LIC can complete their studies they typically decide to move to HICs in order to gain higher finance. This is called brain drain. This type of migration has caused doctor shortages in LICs where people health may be worse than in HICs which may lead to more death and more health issues in these countries.

I believe that the shortage of doctors is a new phenomenon that has spread with the passage of time in the world. Why did the shortage of doctors appear and what will happen in the world???Because every year of studying medicine bears a development in the world of medicine, technology, competencies in transportation, retirement, and termination of services. The Palestinian Doctors Syndicate announced the suspension of work In the operating rooms in some government hospitals due to the small number of anesthesiologists and the increase in the incidence of serious and chronic diseases, which are rare and have no solution, so their difficulty and cost increases, which led to a shortage of doctors and also focus on solving patients’ problems. Some medical specialties need accuracy and consideration. And enormous pressure not to lose lives.

Because medicine is difficult and also costs high. In my city, there are many students who get high marks of 90 and more, but there is not enough money. I think that there are people who have a phobia of seeing blood, but in a small percentage. The solutions are to provide university scholarships to students who do not have the money to complete their dream like others.

Since childhood, I have been hoping and my only dream is to become an international doctor, and until now I am wondering about the reason for refusing to learn medicine in the world, because the medical profession is one of the most difficult and dangerous professions at all, so they must treat people’s diseases and pains with conscience and accuracy. In conclusion, all due respect and appreciation to the doctors who are making efforts to save the lives of children who are in pain, and I hope that the Ministry of Health will raise salaries in appreciation of their efforts, because they are the heart and pulse of society.
My advice to you is to take care of your health, because when you lose yourself, you lose yourself. Take care of her, take care of her.

Personally, i think doctor shortages in my country are because of how hard it is to get into med school, on a personal experience i have seen many people try for years and still be unable to become a doctor. Also being a doctor isn’t as easy as some people might think, because some doctors have to stay up late to tend to a patient or even they might be woken up in the middle of the night, because of an emergency. Finally, although doctors have good wages some wages may not be enough for all the hard work they are giving.

  • amusing_measurement | Bal Bharati Public school B | India 24 Nov 2022

These days there is a global shortage of doctors because it is a very nerve-racking job. Doctors are admired a lot but it all comes with a sacrifice. Doctors have to work long and unpredictable hours and sometimes have to do 12 hours shift and treat patients at odd timings also. Often during emergencies, they get calls at night because of which they are not able to get enough sleep and their health is deteriorating.
It takes 14 years to become a surgeon! And another 5-6 stressful years are required to fully establish oneself in the medical sector. And the heavy student debt they have to take is another hassle because of which most of the doctors lose out on their young life studying hard rather than enjoying themselves.
Doctors faced a really hard time during the coronavirus pandemic. One example showing their hardship was the case of Mousimi Das who had to treat her own mother in her Kolkata hospital as countless patients including a colleague’s father died around her, she worked 48 hours in one stretch without a break!
And Mousimi Das was not alone. A dozen doctors described a nightmare scenario where they had a high-risk exposure to the virus, a never-ending flow of patients and deaths and long hours in sweat-drenched PPE kits that made even washroom breaks difficult.
We have to raise our voices for the doctors and help them before most of them give up and we run out of doctors in this world. Being a doctor is a noble profession and we should be united and try to save it.

Doctor shortages are not only frequent but the other prevalent occupations connected to medicine are also suffering from the disadvantage of this ambiguous issue. If we will compactly analyse data many medicine-related jobs are either arduous to do or the vicious cycle of societal pressure tangles these jobs. Personally, if doctor shortages are continued like this, the whole economic cycle may disrupt which will in turn be a great cause of poverty for all nations worldwide! Moreover, poverty may lead to other significant concerns consequently, affecting every citizen.

One main reason for doctor shortages I think would be how time-consuming and expensive it is to train medical students. The medical field is a much-needed aspect of society because without health, where is our wealth? However, I do encourage this way of practice. I mean doctors are dealing with lives, our lives. We cannot expect them to rush such a delicate and critical thing. Medicine and healthcare should be of a high standard in theory and practice and no expenses should be spared in ensuring quality. Instead, I think encouraging more people to enroll in medical schools and pursue a career in medicine should be more appropriate.

At the beginning of my education, I dreamed of studying medicine, and now I am asking about the reason for the world’s refusal to learn medicine, and what I think is that there are several reasons, including:
1 The length of the study period
2 The high cost of education, which led to people turning away from studying medicine
3 And it is the most important reason that we must talk about, that we give the doctors less than they deserve, and less than the effort they put in, then we have high expectations from them, and we have to give the doctors more than that, because they only sit with their families a little, and they only sleep at night A little, because they are forced to go to work, and from here people who dreamed of studying medicine surrender to this reality. Doctors really deserve more, more, because they save people's lives, day or night in peace and war.

To me the lack of doctors can start right from the universities. In nigeria there are a lot of universities which their cut off mark for medicine is very high, some schools cut off mark can be 250 and for example you got 240, considering the fact that you were not up to 250 they can decide to give you nursing to study instead. And this reason can contribute to the shortage of doctors.

From my experience a cause of global doctor shortage can start from the belief of the parent, because the parent are the ones how pay for the education so the are the ones how have the final say on what the child will study. 🥺 By this time next year I should be in my first year in university studying Business Administration.

The root causes of the shortage of doctors are: the difficulty of the profession, the difficulty of studying, and pressure on them during study. If we come to reality, medicine is one of the most difficult studies in the world, as they study for 7 years. Also, the income rate, although the doctors are tired and exhausted, but they take a small salary, and this is the case in my country. Also, if we come to reality, we see that most doctors are reckless about the situation because of the pressure on them.

But if we cooperate in increasing the income of doctors and not forcing them to work beyond their capacity, and we love them at work, then no doctor will be lacking Also, one of the factors in the shortage of doctors around the world is the spread of the problem of gender inequality, which is the refusal of parents to educate girls in order for them to get what they want from the professions, and they say that girls should not work. Except for a housewife, and this is the main reason for the shortage of doctors, but the problem of inequality must be eliminated, and then there will be no shortage

Global shortage of doctors and medical professionals has been lately seen as a critical problem worldwide. It has led to a serious imbalance of healthcare provisions facilitated across different countries. In my opinion, some of the major reasons, which I have personally seen in my close family relatives are as follows:
    1. It takes a very long time & huge investment first to secure a medical degree and then to train one as a doctor, before he/she can actually start earning as medical practitioner. So clearly there is no balanced trade off between the time and effort spent Vs earnings . Additionally, it is very expensive to start off a doctor's clinic on their own - it needs huge infrastructure and other investments.
    2. Medical practise is very stressful- a doctor cannot really afford to mis-diagnose. Patient, nowadays are pretty savvy due to social media channels and hence often play defensive diagnosis proactively, hence defending their cases and often filing letigations against doctors to challenge their diagnosis. Hence, as evident across my family relatives, majority of the doctor parents are not longer encouraging their children to become doctors or choose this as a profession
    3. Disturbed Work life balance and moral responsibility to support patients 24 X 7 , is yet another reason leading to make this profession not longer a choice for upcoming student learners.
    4. At least in India, there has been increasing incidents of voilence against doctors for any unprecendented medical complications that their diagnosis unattentionally causes.
    5. Commercization of medical profession , making it hard for new candidates to onboard this . Care for the people has gone past , this is often not seen as a noble profession anymore , since the outreach of best of medical facilities to rich and wealthy communities.
    6. Last but not the least, there is no job even after a simple MBBS degree, spending years of education. Most of the MBBS grads still have to go for post grad education and specialist degrees and hence a doctor is often half in grave by the time they start earning actually.

Some of the reasons for doctor shortage are low health care spending causes doctor shortages thus health care hospitals suffer from lack of staffs and poor infrastructure facilities and there is shift in patients and doctors population and then absence of physicians in rural hospitals,It's a tough job to convince a young doctor to move to a region with few other young professionals or opportunities.
High debt contributes to doctors shortages in rural and backward areas.

    1

There is plethora of reasons as to why there's a shortage of doctors in this generation.
Now, i would like to hint some of the points we discussed in our classroom session on this topic.

    1) Fear of failure
One of the main reasons why many students fail to do medicine is because they think medicine is too hard than the work they'll be doing after they actually become a doctor. Not only the syllabus is vast, but even the rigorous examination procedure is exhausting. For instance, in my country, we have an entrance exam called NEET to get into a good medical college. But the difficulty faced here is that many students fail to clear the exam properly and in-turn they aren't able to achieve what they want.
And clearing the entrance exam NEET calls for rigorous preparation. Which means we have to prepare for our government conducted public examination at the end of Grade 12 and then this. Our country is not that rich that everyone can afford to pay for the tuition fees or the training institute fees, which is humongous.
Honestly speaking, just the phrase "medical school" sends shivers down many youngsters, including me.

    2) Post-work stress
All of us have a vague idea about how a doctor's job is stressful and exhausting. Majority of the doctors I know work almost 15 hours a day. Sometimes, they even get called to hospitals during the times of emergencies, and these not necessarily be during their time of work. It may be during midnight, early morning, or whenever. Many doctors give up on their job because of the amount of pressure it carries.

    3) Lack of investment
Some countries fail to give a good amount of importance in the health sector. Again, my country, India spends only about one percentage of their total GDP on healthcare. This affects the quality of the services provided. The government hospitals aren't in good condition, there's a lack of medical staff, and there aren't many educational institutions for medicine. The same reason leads to another one - many medical graduates, go to other countries for their higher education since they can't find what they actually need in their home country. This again, contributes to why there's a shortage of doctors.

    4) Covid Pandemic
The covid pandemic has adversely affected the medical industry. There was a sudden deterioration in the revenues and employment of medical staff. Although, it is in the recovery stage, it really isn't up to the mark. There's still paucity of doctors.

  • aware_leaves | Shohour Public High School | Lebanon 27 Nov 2022

There is shortage of doctors in the country. There are many causes for this effect
    1) Doctors are being paid less for their efforts to save people. So they should be paid little better for their hard work during emergencies and for their sleepless nights.
    2) High cost for the education affects the poor but talented students who has financial instability. (Price for the application of doctor seats).
    3) Knowledgeable doctors are moving abroad to make their income better and to make their living standard better. They are not thinking about the country where they were trained.
    4) Increased disease lead to increased patients which results in the shortage of doctors.
    5) Doctors are working 24/7 it leads to work pressure, it makes them to retire from their profession before their retirement age.

    How can we avoid shortage?
    *Provide scholarship for talented students.
*The country has to increase the number of seats for medical students and increase in medical collages.
    *Reduction in payment for education.
*Study period has to be reduced.
    "SAVE DOCTORS TO SAVE LIFE"

Why there is a shortage of doctors? There are many causes.
    1. The students who want to become doctors move to foreign countries to get education and they did not want to return back to home country. This is because the population in our country is very more and the chances of getting an admission in medical college will be more difficult as the number of medical college seats are limited.
    2. The wages of the doctors should be increased as per certain criteria. For example if a person is working as a doctor for more than certain years, he should be given some increase in wages (or) salary. The doctors work for 24/7 to feed for his family but no increase in the salary will make them to opt for a different profession.
    3. It is not only about doctors but also nurses. The nurses also play a vital role in hospitals. The doctors just give treatment to the patients but it is the nurses who give extra care for recovery of the patients. When there is a shortage of doctors, there is a parallel decrease in the number of nurses.
    4. Shortage of Hospitals in rural areas. The rural people who want to get medical treatment from doctors they have to travel approximately 20 to 30 kilometres to go to hospital. The doctors are not interested to work in rural areas for many reasons such as low income, improper transport facilities, unpredictable weather conditions, negligence, etc.
    5. The doctors work for 24 hours without any rest to saves the lives of many patients. But they did not have any time to speak to their family members. Because of this they have physical stress and mental stress and they are affected by many health problems. As a result of this, some doctors had even died and many of them retired early from their profession.

These are some of the common causes of doctor shortage in the world. I think that the government has to solve this problem. They must be given some remedial measures like
Free medical education to poor students, creating qualified doctors in our country and the world, setup of new hospitals in rural and remote areas, shift based work, etc.

Once upon a time there is an abundance of doctors in the world. But now there is shortage of doctors. There are many reasons for this but some of root causes are:
    • They are shortage of doctors in rural areas because many doctors want to live in urban areas with facilities.
    • And some are moving to other countries for their better life styles.
    • Doctors life are little stressful , nowadays we don't want stress so they're choosing other jobs.
    • Because of some hard examinations people don't want to become doctors.
    • And Lack of medical colleges.
The solution for doctor shortages is:
    • Government should built and provide education for the people who are willing to become doctors.
    • Government should set an time limit for doctors because rest is important for all human beings.
    • Government should give some advantages to the doctors .
Doctors = God . So we all should respect them . This COVID time shows how doctors are important. Salute to all Doctors in the world.

    My views on Doctor Shortages:
In India, If anyone wants to become a Doctor, we have to clear NEET Exam. There are many stereo types revolving in our country, which makes every student think, Medical is tough to study. Approximately 21.9% are below Poverty line. So, Talented children who have dream and ability to become Doctor are not able to study Medical because of Poverty. Hence India is losing Talented students in this field due to financial problem and family situation. As per Article, Indian Government is spending only 1% in Medical sciences. As there is corruption and lot of donation required in Indian colleges, students are preferring foreign colleges to study Medical and wanted to get settled there after studies. Hence the service is possibly rendered to other countries instead of our country.
I am thinking, "Being a Doctor is not as difficult as becoming a Doctor".
There a no equal opportunities in education to become Doctor as only who has money goes for NEET coaching. Only who are rich is able to afford to study medicine and after spending a lot of money for studies, the new Doctors wanted to earn the money being spent, hence they tend to become money minded. Ofcourse, not all Doctors fall under this category as we see Doctors doing service for the poor but majority of the treatment starts only after money is paid,
    My thoughts on betterment:
Automatic Robots should be in place to treat patients wherever it is possible so that Doctors have ample quality time to review or spend time in research,
Doctors should need ample rest as well as we saw in covid times, Doctors worked round the clock to take care of patients. In that case, Doctors wages need to be increased as well.
Dream to become Doctor and Devote yourself to People irrespective of any challenges!

The reason for the shortage of doctors is often in non-developed countries, there are no opportunities that make these doctors practice their profession well, for example, the lack of equipment with advanced knowledge, the lack of job opportunities in these countries, and the economic and financial crisis. Many people want to study medicine, but their living conditions do not allow For them, this is what reduces the percentage of doctors, as well as customs and traditions. For example, there are many parents who deny the idea of studying medicine or engineering except indefinitely. Some of them say: What will you benefit from studying? You will not succeed and you will stay at home. This is from my point of view.

There are several reasons for the shortage of doctors around the world, the most important of which is the lack of appropriate educational opportunities, especially in developing countries, and even if they are available, they are very expensive. Likewise, in our country, studying medicine requires a lot of expenses. Likewise, studying medicine depends on high averages in secondary school. If teachers are not qualified Efficiency The youth of these days will not be aspiring to become doctors
Therefore, most doctors take the medical profession as just a job
Perhaps there are many doctors around the world who are not famous because of this
If we want to solve this problem, we must start from its source, which is basic education

I think that the shortage of doctors is caused by exhaustion, unfairness and not getting payed enough this could also lead to sexism like woman not getting payed enough or making men do all the work. 1

Doctor shortage happens due to a variety of reasons.I would like to list below some of it.I have divided my views into three divisions for better understanding. The first is, the factors contributing to shortage of doctors at the time of pursuing medicine, the next is,the factors affecting at the workplace and the third is, the factors which are common at both these areas.

Factors affecting at the time of pursuing medicine:
Less number of medical colleges-Heavy cost to pursue medicine
I feel that these two are interconnected. The number of medical colleges is very less in many countries and hence the seats given. As the demand by the students to take up medicine is not at par with the number of seats available, the cost for each person is going to be high.Though, students have the required talent and skill, they do not have so much money to pursue their dream.Hence many people do not take up medicine to pursue.

    Factors affecting at the workplace:
Lack of investment in healthcare-Less reward to doctors
In many countries, there is not much of investment in the medical field. As a result, the doctors are not being paid the right amount for their selfless services. The doctors though working day in and day out to deal with so much cases are not being paid the right reward. This induces many people not to take up this field as they can get better benefits in other professions.

Factors affecting at both these levels:
    Sacrifices-Stress
Both at the workplace and while pursuing medicine,a person who is a doctor or aspiring to become a doctor goes through a tough time.Medicine is one of the toughest stream to pursue which requires hard work, perseverance and sacrifices.Even after going through so much and becoming a doctor,he/she has to toil hard and sacrifice his own time and his family time to serve and save lives.Doctor is one of those professions where time isn't a factor.He/she goes through so much of stress and hard times due to their sacrifices.

I feel that this chain of factors which causes doctor shortages can be avoided with lots of investment in the field of medicine.Government should increase the number of colleges and seats available to students to enable them to pursue this field. It should also provide doctors with more rewards and remuneration which would serve as a motivation and would be like a call to many others to take up this field.

I think that there may be doctor shortages because they were told they would be given a pay rise, but they were not all given the money. because of the cost of living crisis, the government may not be able to pay the doctors, or pay for their equipment.

I believe that what cause shortage of the medical workforce is the fact the most people get discouraged from being medical practioners right from their young age. And also the fact that there are not enough lecturers to teach the course.

What is the main cause of doctor shortages?
In many country there is a problem arising due to shortage in resources , food , and so on .
As we can that there is doctor shortages in many countries because of lack of medical institutions, lack of money to pay the fee to institutions , lack of interest due to high fees in many institutions and their exist a thought that when a person become doctor he has to go to developed countries so that he can get more salary. These are the main cause for doctor shortages .

How can we increase the doctor availability?
The government of each country has to take step to build sufficient medical institutions, and provide scholarships to the students and also they can reduce tuition fee .
When a person become doctor the government has to provide job in government hospitals which can improve the standard of treatment in such hospitals.

I agree that there is doctor's shortage but actually,It does not matters that you are facing problem. Many people die due to lackness of doctors and many people come to hospitals because they are suffering head pain. As it is doctor's duty,so doctor says them for tests in laboratory. After report,we are informed that it was only headache due to overwork. In this period of time someone suffering his last stage dies . Who is responsible? I agree that it was his luck but many peoples can be save. Our society has lack of awareness and is careless in health suits. If we take precautionary measures about health,we can stay healthy. If we have some problem,we should consult with basic health centers. As we are causes of doctors shortage, so we can save doctor's time in which they can treat serious cases. "DOCTORS ARE NOT SHORT , TIME IS SHORT AND WE CAN SAVE THIS TIME BY SHOWING RESPONSIBLE ATTITUDE IN HEALTH SUITS" Thank you.

There are many psychological features that also affect the doctor shortage and not just physiological. For example, anxiety can be a leading factor o the doctor shortage. many people may worry about what they are doing as it can harm another person. To be a doctor you have to be confident in your ability, so they have to possess a high internal locus of control. If they do not have this, then they will have lower self-confidence and will be doubtful in their abilities. This we cause many people not to take the path of becoming a doctor as they believe they are incapable. There's no way to solve this as it is dependent on the individual however there is a way in which to make people gain some confidence towards themselves by allowing more help in education. this will create a better learning environment and create confidence within students.
A physiological factor may also be exhaustion. Doctors on average work between 60-80 hours a week in demanding positions, this can cause not only stress but exhaustion. Working for long periods in such stressful environments can both physically and mentally drain a person. Therefore, many doctors are quitting their jobs in order to lead a more stress-free life and many students question their decisions in going into the medical field as the negative connotations around the job can be off-putting.
In order to solve this, I believe doctors should be provided with more well-being resources to create a healthy work environment.

I think in my country the reason of shortage of female doctors is the stereo type nature of society. The females who are passionate to become doctors are discouraged due to hectic routine which later i.e. after marriage cause them to leave the profession. In this way the seats are occupied mostly by the medical students who are more likely to leave it before joining professionaly. Due to society and religious restrictions mostly females think it safe to get examined by female doctors and when they will not get the female doctors in remote areas that will cause the hazard to the health of a society as the healthy female leads to the healthy society.
For me there must be an attractive packages for female doctors should be introduced in order to attract and facilitate the female doctors and their family members to get free services in this regard. There must be free daycare services for their children.

I would like to be a doctor personally. A lot of people actually would want to be part of the medical sector in my country because most young children who are asked what they would like to be in future. Most of them normally say that they would want to be a medical doctor. But what usually discourage them from being medical doctors is that the educational sector doesn't have adequate number of lecturers to take the course. This leaves many youngsters discouraged from going to the medical sector. this reduces the possibility of the medical sector having new feathers in its wings.

i think doctor shortage's are being caused by not getting enough money so they are going on strikes. That means there is going to be less people working because they are not getting enough money. Then not every patient will get treated like they used to.The number of workers are leaving more than ever it needs to be fixed. If there is no doctors then people will be very ill without treatment.

  • intrepid_sea | Lyons Hall Primary School A | United Kingdom 02 Dec 2022

doctor shortages are terrible because it means less treatment for sick patients. if the sick haven't got anyone to care for them then they could end up seriously ill. there are many doctors in the world but people are getting ill every minute and if doctors are going on strike they wont get the treatment they need.

Well I believe the root cause to the global shortage of doctors is one educational career how? Many doctors leave their countries to go to other countries to study and by the time they are done it is hard for them to go back to their original counties because they have already gotten employment in the counties they traveled to study .Secondly most doctors say they get little salaries in their country so they decided to travel to another counties hoping to get more money .thirdly some doctors are scared to lose patients that even when a patient dies they to quit their jobs thinking they are not good enough . Well I think the possible solutions to the global shortage of doctors is the government should look into their salaries and make sure they get the right amount of money ,the government should also improve on the educational sector so that the doctors don't need to travel abroad and lastly the government needs to improve on the medicine provided in the hospitals . Surely we need doctors alot and if the following measures are put in place then the global shortage will reduce

Clearly, doctors play a very huge role in our well being that is, they find solutions to our health issues for example vaccines and cures to dangerous diseases
Just like the other occupations, these doctors face many problems which can even lead to global doctor shortages for example the costs of medical studies in some countries is very high which leaves some of the people with dreams of being doctors optionless but to join other courses since they don't have enough funds which leaves a huge global gap of limited doctors and that is why there are doctors being imported to some countries to cover up that gap.
Also, in case of outbreaks of diseases like the COVID-19 pandemic, there might be shortage of needed equipment in some countries which might lead to spread of such diseases to the medical teams leading to shortage of doctors.
The wages of these doctors should be highly increased because of such huge roles they play for our well being and to encourage them to do their jobs well.

I believe why there is a doctor shortage because it is due to retirement, stress, and burnout.

I believe that the doctor shortage is due to covid, during the pandemic a lot of doctors were stressed and overworked. Many doctors also have gotten ptsd or have been in despair after losing a patient, which can scare many workers away. Another reason why there is a doctor shortage is because the environment they are working in is sometimes not dependable. Meaning the pay and environment is not always worth the stress being a doctor adds.

  • dependable_fly | Adamson Middle School K | United States of America 05 Dec 2022

I think that one of the reasons why there are global doctor shortages is that people don't want to study for health because they think it's difficult to do, and they don't want to become a doctor because they will think it opens up a higher possibility to get sick. Another reason is that doctors aren't satisfied with their job, so they quit their job to find another job. Others might also think that doctors get underpaid, so that's why they don't want to be a doctor.

  • lucky_shrimp | Adamson Middle School K | United States of America 05 Dec 2022

What are the root causes of global doctor shortages? I think the cause of doctor shortages is from money because money is very important in this world and not having it will suck for you and others also another thing is stress a lot of stress can cause death another thing is disease a doctor having to work with disease is unsafe for the doctors and it can get them infected which can lead to harm on your body or to death. What should be done about this? To do something about is to give them more money for all the work they have to do all this work risking there lives just to help us we can also give them better protection because of the crazy risk and how much danger there lives are in.

I believe there are multiple factors that are contributing to the shortages of doctors, many coming before someone is even a doctor. The first is A-Levels, you are required to take A-Level Chemistry but many more universities require other A-Levels such as Biology, Physics or Maths, this can be a problem if someone is interested in becoming a doctor but doesn't want to dedicate to these subjects at A-Level. As well as subjects many universities also require high grades which can be a problem if some can't perform as well under exam pressure. Another problem is the cost of university on average it costs £220,000 over the 5-year degree. There is also a really long period of training after graduating, it could take as long as 15 years (including 5 years at university) to become fully trained. After all of this doctors have long and stressful working days. This is why I believe there is a shortage of doctors.
