Improve the innovation!

Watch the two videos below from this week's Learning Zone.

In the videos, Tom looks at four problems caused by the global biodiversity crisis, and presents four solutions.

Your challenge:

Pick one of the solutions and suggest how it could be improved. You could think about:

  • How could you help it have a bigger impact?
  • How could more people be made aware of it?
  • How could you convince people to donate money to it, so it can make a bigger difference?

If you can, try to suggest more than one way to improve the innovation.

The frozen in time, while a revolutionary solution could be improved. Instead of preserving the DNA of animals we are causing extinction we should save the living specimens. Through this method many could ignore the struggling endangered species as 'we simply could clone some more'. This solution needs to be handled in a way so the public will still work to conserve and save endangered species but use this as a last resort or a way to repopulate the species.

I would like to answer about the last solution about cutting trees. As we all know trees play an effective role in balancing climate change and cutting them is so harmful for the environment. For that solutions should be done and awareness should be spread, in order for this solution to be improved it has to be shown on international platforms to spread it everywhere , as it is an effective solution for this issue. For example, International Internship University made a virtual session entitled "Climate Action" which teaches ways and measures that have to be done for climate change and environmental problems.
    Link of the video: https://youtu.be/SvQ9fq_NwBo
If the solution presented in such program, it would gain a huge amount of support from different nations of the world and from a lot of people which will convince these people when they touch the solution's positive outcomes to donate for it and give financial aids, even it may convince governments to use such measure.

We can reduce the global biodiversity problem by:
The use of renewable energy and the use of environmentally friendly products. Reducing overfishing and avoiding hunting endangered animals. Preserving biodiversity by moving away from urban sprawl in areas where plants and animals are widespread, and urban expansion in untapped areas and desert areas. stay away from chemicals; such as fertilizers, pesticides, and the trend towards organic and natural foods

Giving people awareness seminars and environmental recommendations that will protect what is left and what we can benefit from in biodiversity. We tell them that it is in your hands to stop the crisis and address issues related to the loss of diversity and climate change. We give people hope and encourage them to stand up to their responsibilities and hope for a green future.

The solution which uses microphones to record sound could be improved by: 1) Adding cameras in areas as well to catch culprits of illegal chopping of trees and see the animals that pass by (2) The government could enforce stronger rules or penalties on illegal chopping of trees (3) Alerting people about the state of places losing biodiversity telling them how it will not only affect the animals but if it reaches far enough the whole world.

The camera can identify the target species of animals, in addition to the detection methods of killing animals and the type of weapon used in the killing of the animal will help develop solutions such as innovation shields to protect the animal and the closure of reserves to ensure that fishermen have access

The 'Listen Carefully' is a really good, non-impactful solution but it could be improved by adding a way to distribute seeds if it picks up that the biodiversity is struggling in that area like 'Speed For Seeds' as well as adding a camera function in order to actually see the creatures and have another way to check their wellbeing and how their lives are structured.

The 'Speed for seeds' is a great idea for growth of trees, however, it can be improved by having it test the soil to make sure that it is fertile and that it is suitable for growing trees. This is important because 89% of the world's soil is limited in some way for the growth of nature and these seeds, though plentiful, might not actually be able to germinate in the soil which it is planted in. This could be a waste of seeds, which could be used more strategically if the soil was tested beforehand.

The drones firing seeds under the soil is an exceptional innovation to reduce carbon emissions and to produce much higher levels of oxygen. This incredible idea should be distributed between a multitude of governments which leads me on to my idea about government and council awareness of this fundamental creation.

Cameras should be placed on to the drones in order for the government to have a good knowledge of what these drones are capable of. This means that governments can order a mass production of the drones, therefore we will have a greener Earth and more trees will be planted compared to the numbers that are being cut down, and there will no longer be any carbon emissions in our world to effect climate change.

How can you help make a bigger impact? I think the solution to the global biodiversity crisis is that we have to deal with this solution in a way so that people continue to work to conserve and save endangered species, but use this as a last resort or as a way to reintroduce animals instead of preserving the DNA of animals, we are causing extinction but as “Three UK scientists have set up the charity Frozen Ark, which preserves the DNA of endangered animal species by freezing it in tanks of liquid nitrogen. To date, it has been preserved. The DNA of more than 700 threatened species,” she states in the video. extinction), we must save the living specimens.

Building back better means protecting biodiversity to put us on the path to sustainability. But to achieve this, bold and coherent actions are needed across several fronts - each of which is necessary and not sufficient on its own. Efforts to conserve and restore biodiversity must be scaled up, addressing climate change in ways that limit global temperature rise without imposing unintended pressures on biodiversity, and changing the way we produce, consume and trade the goods and services that depend on and affect biodiversity. Unsustainable subsidies must be redirected to positive incentives for nature.

+ Create natural reserves fit the nature of living organisms, or private environments live in certain types of plants and animals, it is through this method is the protection of living creatures and not exposed to the risk of extinction or fishing. Put laws + ads announce which state that a particular area is a nature reserve should not approach them or compromised in any way, for example, it prevents the harvesting of all types of plants, orchid or any type of terrestrial plants, or there are animals to prevent hunting Kalzuahv for example. The establishment and the establishment of banks for the preservation and collection of genetic material for all plants and animals in order to develop cores proliferative if endangered species

Question 1) You could help by change you lifestyle and make that type of impact to the environment to help stop to in danger and lose some type of species int the world.Question 2) this can change because you could make people more aware by putting posters or spreading the word of what is happing. This impact needs to happen and needs to happen fast.Question 3) You could help by donating so money to a charity who helps the environment to save species and the world. You could go to a club and help plant trees or help the environment physically. More people need to think about the environment, species of animals and there habitats. This needs to change and more people need to make more important it needs to change and it needs to be done fast.Otherwise more animals will come extinct or lose there vital habits.

Population growth, which is the main cause of the crisis stopped because this increase leads to increase the need for natural resources and converted for human consumption, which will force many people to the use of agricultural fertilizers to meet the need for food, so it will be a reproduction pattern is the first and most important secret in reducing population growth, which is the Hbb crisis

My answer to solve the "seed problem" as I mentioned in the video: a drone was built to plant trees. That is, it means that governments can order mass production of drones if we distribute this idea among several governments which leads me to my idea about government consciousness , so we will have greener land and more trees will be planted than the numbers are cut down, and there will be no more carbon emissions in our world {climate change} reducing carbon emissions and producing much higher levels of oxygen. Even the drone will plant up to 400,000 trees in a single day. This will make our world green and the world will not become "climate change" If we publish the method to governments and councils! I also think that we should leave nature as the survival of the fittest and not leave it to leprosy and climate change!

The speed of the roots is the solution for each problem and can be resolved and can work on the improvement of soil and growth for trees and consider a large proportion of soil countries are not valid for cultivation, with the consumption of large kims from seeds without knowing and may also be another problem Seeds are not suitable for planting in soil must be checked until the soil is not damaged and be filled with non-damaged seeds in an invalid soil cultivation.

If i can convince people to donate I would convince those who cut trees to build their homes where they cut I don’t replace, and as we know alot of animals live between trees as its their habitat (monkeys, birds ..) and not only them , alot of dangerous animals may lose their homes as forest and come to live in our villages and between us which may cause harm . So the only thing i might say is to plant their homes to save your and our homes .
And i got this idea from the topical talk video where Mr. Tom talked about deforestation and cutting trees .

Since it is difficult for most scientists to monitor different animal and plant species to find out if anything is threatening them, I will suggest that other countries should in coalition with the Mexicans to produce more of the monitoring devices. Countries should adopt these devices and ensure they create the technology needed to enhance the functioning of the devices so that these monitoring devices will be available for all to use, this will help all countries to be able to detect the noises and sounds that comes from a particular habitat.
People can be made to be aware or to know about the device through advertisement on the internet, social media platforms and television channels. It should also be taught in schools and colleges across the globe. The importance of the device should be printed on newspapers so that everyone will be aware of it. People can be convinced to make donations by educating them on the dangers of biodiversity and also to let the people know how important it is to proffer such solution, also people should be convinced about why the idea of the monitor devices are suggested in the first place as it is important that they know the advantage of using a monitoring device.

The solution I have chosen is the preservation of endangered species of animals.
If it is possible, I can help it have a bigger impact by encouraging the government to make stringent laws that will support and preserve the lives of endangered species. The laws will include that poachers would be arrested and prosecuted, everyone should be involved in protecting the habitats of these species, if you see people working against the law, make a report so that we all end up working together to save all animal species.
More people could be made aware through jingles on posters, prints, social media, radio and television also students should be taught about preservation of animals lives.
We can convince people to donate money by informing them about the importance of animal life to the ecosystem. Animals are part of nature that balance ecosystem and makes life pleasant.
In order to improve this innovation, we should protect the lives of endangered species living in the wild through the use of drones, selective images, cctv cameras and park rangers.

[Seed Speed] is a great idea for tree growth, as it can be improved through soil testing i.e. making sure of the “soil fertility” so that it is suitable for tree planting and growth! But in fact the soil may not be able to germinate, so if the soil is tested earlier it will be better; Because if the soil is not able to germinate it will be a waste of seeds!

My answer to the problem of [cutting trees] Trees are being cut down and plants are dying due to climate change, construction and pollution in all its forms, which has led to the planet losing plants much faster than what is being cultivated! Therefore, solutions must be made and awareness spread, and in order not to cut trees, the solution must be presented to governments and international platforms to spread awareness throughout the world! It is an effective solution to this problem [logging]!

It can be preservation and freezing of DNA. We can develop a cloning program where an animal identical to the clone can be cloned. Genetics can be written broad and sophisticated and we are working to develop it more and more widely and take advantage of every biological organism and preserve extinction
