How would you rethink education?

Hub Headings Thinking Question Thursdays.png

Schools in Ceará made reading a bigger focus for younger students. In fact, it’s now a target that every child should be able to read by age 9.

What one thing, or area, do you think should be a bigger focus in schools where you live? Why?

This could be a particular skill, subject, or something else!

Extra challenge: Say how you would measure whether the focus had worked.

Additional challenge: Say how you will measure whether the focus has worked; I will measure my answer that if this focus works in my school, if we give teachers plans, free lessons, one day a month for planning and a reward for achieving goals * If we give teachers the opportunity to give plans, they will succeed in teaching 9-year-olds.

The thing I think schools in my area should focus on more isReducing the number of students in the classroom, which ranges between 40-45 students, as our schools suffer from overcrowding of students in the classroom
This is because it has a negative impact on both the student and the teacher, as it causes psychological, health, educational and behavioral problems for students, which affects the student’s level and academic achievement, and the large number of students in the classroom deprives the student of many of his educational rights, and distracts him, and we do not forget the impact The negative impact on the teacher, as he loses his ability to give all students the required attention, and does not take into account the individual differences of students by focusing on a specific category, and also the teacher does not focus himself in the practice of teaching and gets distracted with the large number of students, so the teacher enters to teach his students with routine work without the educational passion to communicate information to students love on
We could measure whether this had worked by This will, of course, affect the students’ psychology and their comfort and improve their academic level, and evidence will appear of students’ assimilation, and the teacher’s love for his work and the psychological comfort he has for giving his lessons with love and mastery and giving attention to all students without exception, and this all has an impact on the level of students and then on the level The school, the fewer students, the greater the focus and the result is satisfactory

You are right in that, as this matter affects the safety of the students as well, as this large number of students means continuous mixing and the lack of sufficient distances between students and the inability of the teacher to practice various activities due to the large number of students and the shortness of classes

The thing that I think the schools in my area should focus on more is to reduce the number of textbooks, because if a student carries 7 or 8 books, that is very heavy, and the number of these books should be reduced, as it has a very negative effect. After a few years the student feels back pain, the number of books should be reduced or school lockers should be placed for each student so that the student does not carry books when he returns home and registers at school, and when he returns to school he only takes homework

For the school to learn, but at home, many students, and even we are in distance learning, are attracted to social networking sites and video games more than education, and we leave the videos explaining the lessons sent to us by teachers .And sometimes we say that we watched it and followed it, but we did not do that because I think we should focus on how we will attract the student and make him pursue distance education.

I agree with you on this because technology has become half of life these days, meaning all professions have electronic parts, for example: engineers draw maps on electronic programs or teachers, they fill test results on programs such as records or doctors, they depend entirely on medical technology devices, for example. Dialysis devices or catheters and large screens, and as you go, you find people in meetings or meetings talking about technology and the great uproar it has caused, and it must be taught to students, as if another global crisis occurs and education is disrupted as it happened, and this guarantees the delivery of electronic education by 95% and not the same as before 40%

The thing I think schools in my area should focus on more is practical and experimental learning ( although it's present but not every teacher focuses on it).
This is because practicals and experimental learning make learning fun and students are able to understand everything very smoothly and are able to find reasons behind things on their own. This also encourages students to perform other experiments by implementing their own ideas . This all finally adds to their knowledge.
We could measure whether this had worked by asking them question based on their observation and most of the time the children are able to answer these questions. This time they didn't needed any time for preperation and cramming of text. This will be all based on their thinking and understanding of the concept.

According to me practical and experimental learning means that students should be shown live ( if possible) , what they are being taught in books. For instance, showing live demonstrations of laws of physics and let students themselves think what the law is describing and this should be done with the things and examples that a student could relate with. And definitely it will be fruitful.

In my opinion, what should be focused on is (education and ethics).
Well our teachers always tell us (we want your literature before your knowledge)!
That is, literature and morals are more important and greater than science!
Morals are what determines a person in fact before his educational level!
If it is absent or people fail to adopt it, the whole society and all people will fall into embarrassment, and their lives will be severely affected. Good morals are the mainstay of societies and nations, and they are the ones that protect them from deviations, and protect them from corruption and slipping into the solution of cultural and civilized backwardness.
That is, it is not only important in school!
Students need to learn a different kind of social ethics to teach socialization. Therefore, learning literature is an important factor for leading personal, social and corporate life. ...and thus cultural lessons become more important for children if they can relate them to their own lives and they often encounter these situations in their working lives..!

    ## I will measure the success of this point
If we find many students in many talents such as (singing, dancing, drawing,...)
Gifted students can also be known before training and reinforcement with their teachers and after training.
It is possible to measure it by the extent to which students employ their talents in their lives, broadcasts, and concerts.

This is because of arousing students’ interest in the lesson, motivating them to exert effort, raising morale among them, and increasing the value of the educational material for them. And to identify the capabilities, abilities, aptitudes and tendencies of students, discover and develop strengths and weaknesses and address them.

That everyone knows it to bring about some positive changes on the earth, and studying it gives us wide opportunities to verify the information obtained. Because, in tunisia, many kids sacrificed their dreams just because we didn't offer them the support they needed. Instead, we did the opposite. We discouraged them and made them follow our dreams, and if they refused, we would think that they will have no future and that they couldn't take any risky decisions that may ruine their lives. But personally, I think that we should all support our beloved and encourage them to go forward to achieving their dreams. Because "the secret in success is support".

The thing I think schools in my area should focus on more is having a larger range of extracurricular activities and a set of sports/art events.
This is because It will allow one to release all the unwanted stress that the day may have brought upon them and allows them to embrace their talents to their deepest extent. Additionally, it allows students to be involved with new skills, making them grow a possible love towards a newfound subject. Also, there can be numerous children with a desire to have a go at a particular subject ( such as netball ) and strives to improve at it, if the school can not provide them with this then they will be unable to perform as well as they would have if they had training/experience.
We could measure whether this had worked by Events and casual tests to see if the student/s have been able to improve their skills, take a liking to it, and be able to perform better than they had before. Also, close observation can be done to ensure that the children participate and to see if there is a gradual build up in knowledge of the subject and if they are able to show a larger understanding in the specific area.

Each school has a library rich in books, and this in turn constitutes a safe haven for students to borrow books they want and read, or they may exchange books with their colleagues to increase their culture, especially if there are teachers who encourage the cultural movement in the school, and school activity days allow students to show cultural talents And show their abilities in discovery and creativity!
It is also known that acquiring or reading books (mind filters), whether they are fictional, cultural, religious, social, or ...etc!

If you search anywhere, you will find that reading books in itself saves us from very serious diseases!!

This is because we see that it has now become the first language in the world and is required in all fields and we should focus on it in my area. As Arabs, most students find it difficult to learn English because it is not our main language. I think this should be done through projects such as our Global Conversation project and the Hands Up project. When we talk to people whose native language is English, the language reaches us in a correct form and pronunciation. Therefore, I think that we should focus on the projects that are held with the English in the schools of my area.
We could measure whether this had worked by By evaluating the students through these projects, how their language has become, and how they are active in the projects, and also by holding exams on a regular basis.

I think that the thing that schools should focus on is reading, because reading is the primary means of educating the student and making him aware of what is going on around him, and the transfer of the student from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge and knowledge, and then reaching the degrees of intellectual and mental maturity and the formation of his personality in its various dimensions.

I think that the thing that we should focus on in schools is the picture that we convey of the situation that the world should look like in global issues,So that we show the children that the world needs unity to overcome the problems it faces, and this is how we cultivate in our children the love of unity, which will make this world cooperating with each other and eradicate the hatred that different groups carry for each other, This is how we eliminate the cause of our perishing as a scientist and our failure to achieve peace

I think that the thing that we should focus on in Gaza schools is that in these emergency situations, the development of online learning as a replacement for face-to-face
learning is the most efficient and cost-effective method to continue learning and should be part of a
school’s overall crisis response . The Internet
and mobile networks are crucial modes of communication during emergencies. At the beginning of the pandemic, most teachers and parents do not found that there were no strategies on how to safely continue learning
through face-to-face methods while trying to use social distancing. Two choices are presented to
schools during the COVID-19 pandemic 1) ceasing all instruction, or 2) using mobile phones and
Internet access to deliver instruction online .
Online learning allows teachers to continue teaching students, with a variety of online tools
. Plans should be made to transition online before emergency situations arise.
Both teachers and parents should put together organized plans via different social media such as ( facebook, whats up and telegram )
Also we need online learning because of such circumstances when we have heavy rain we can not go to school because of bad infrastructure in Gaza and the bad streets we have.

I think that the thing that schools should focus on is activities and entertainment because the school creates the appropriate weather for receiving activities, and the administration finds that many students become more joyful and fun by practicing the activity, and it becomes confident that the time the student spends during the activity is a time to expand horizons Intellectual skills and the development of hobbies in order to turn them into studied skills to benefit from. These activities also enhance capabilities, enhance competencies, and benefit from them in increasing educational attainment, whether methods, expressions or words, as well as linguistic and scientific outcomes.

The thing that I think that schools in my region should focus on is the attention, development and development of students’ talents. Frankly, we have a lot of talented students who have beautiful talents such as the talent of singing, just my reality in school they don’t care about it, so why? If we develop her for sure, she will become a famous singer and thus we will have developed her talent and raised our name in the reasons for her success, and there is also the talent for drawing. Schools should focus on paying attention to students’ talents, because firstly, the school earns a beautiful reputation, which makes many students study in it, and secondly: this is how we have paid attention to this generation, revealing and developing their talents, and this also helps to develop the state and its prosperity through innovation, creativity and design, Third, we make the students love the school and make it a reason for their change and prosperity.

Frankly, both because first the student must tell his talent to the teacher, for example, his talent for singing goes and tells the teacher that he has such a talent, so the teacher asks him to sing. Financially and morally, or recording him in voice competitions and after that he became famous and sings in big parties, and this thanks is due to him because he expressed himself and revealed his talent and to the school that developed his talent, and so if the student had told the teacher about his talent, she would not have known his talent or developed, and also if the school had not developed The talent of the student when he became famous.

Yes, schools should be on talent because

There is no doubt that discovering talents early and developing them is one of the most important means of achieving progress and advancement for any society. Creating a good educational environment allows the gifted to highlight their abilities, develop their capabilities, and show their talents through enrichment programs that schools are keen on, in a way that meets all the educational, personal and social needs of the gifted, as well as the needs of self-realization and others.

It is important to develop the lessons of thinking and creativity, focus on applied sciences, take advantage of various activities to develop the capabilities of the talented to their maximum limits, and work to enhance the strengths of all students and in almost all fields. But the most important question now is what should schools and teachers do in order to discover, develop and nurture students’ talents different?

The thing that I think that schools in my area should focus on is educating students about how to solve their problems and overcome them in sound and wise ways because this is one of the reasons why anyone’s life is happy and beautiful. We are ready to overcome it in wise ways, and also to focus on understanding and supporting students and treating them well so that they can trust us, so that they complain about their problems and thus we can solve their problems for them, and also we must focus on preventing bullying from school by holding a meeting to educate students about the dangers of bullying on The individual and society and to clarify its negative consequences, and so we may have built our school on love and peace.

I think the thing that schools in my area should focus on is ethics. Ethics is the mainstay of nations. A man who has knowledge and knowledge without morals will not succeed, and as some say in our society (a man without morals is like a tree without leaves).

, morals and integrity are important characteristics to demonstrate, we instinctively know that it is good to be ethical and act with integrity, but by understanding the importance of ethics and integrity, we will be motivated to champion such behavior and it will create a prosperous society!

The thing I think schools in my area should focus on more is thinking schools in my area should focus on more teachers' staff and the internal friendly environment and I think it is important to focus on technical and vocational education.
This is because there are many schools in Pakistan that are in dire need of teachers and do not have adequate teachers to teach. Teachers staff plays an important role in ensuring students are learning in a safe and supportive learning environment. They can foster positive, trusting relationships with students and improve school climate by encouraging parent and family involvement in education. In any school, Teachers play a and there is also a big need that schools to have a friendly environment because for enhancing the interest level of the students a friendly school environment is necessary for the students. A friendly school environment helps to increase the knowledge, skills, values, norms, and the Morales and make the students harmonious towards others and their own life and technical and vocational education are also important because Technical and vocational education and training play an essential role in improving the wellbeing of youths and communities. It increases productivity, empowers individuals to become self-reliant, and stimulates entrepreneurship. Businesses are more willing to invest in a community with strong human resources.major role in maintaining the standards of.
We could measure whether this had worked by I will measure my answer that if this focus works in my school then the school will become a generous foundation for the students and they will develop further because if the students are provided with the best teaching staff and given a friendly environment then they will learn a lot in their life. they learn more about life roles and how lives life is. they will promote meaningful learning experiences. they will become one of Self-Discipline. Discipline is a must in a student's life and they will become one of the best Problem Solver in their own life.

We can rethink re-education by training them to use technology in education Technologies such as online courses and robotics in the classroom allow higher quality, standardized curricula to be delivered by experts who truly understand the topics being taught, and this type of education dramatically increases access to Classrooms in urban and rural areas that lack the resources to maintain a well-trained staff!

We could re-think education in the UK by teaching essential life lessons such as paying taxes and things you need to do in order to live as an adult in Britain. These are essential life lessons that many people in the UK aren’t taught before the age of 16 when they leave school. Meaning many people suffer with mental health and struggles.

I think schools near me should re-think education by concentrating more on mental health. This is because schools think by putting a poster up for mental health it cures all mental health problems. This doesn’t have any significant impact on children. This could be improved by mental health being taught about in form times and specialists coming in to talk about mental health.

I think schools in my area should focus on more is The most important aspect to focus on, I think, is reading and writing, but the teaching method must be able to communicate the message of learning to read and write in a clear and well-understood manner.
This is because Because the teaching method is what gives us the appropriate assessment of the extent to which students absorb the learning and accordingly, learning, intelligence, understanding and comprehension are determined.
We could measure whether this had worked by By conducting tests and dictating metaphysically for students what has been learned and setting grades for students so that the good and the distinguished are known

The thing I think schools in my area should focus on more is on practising for the 11+ ( at least in year 5).
This is because when you are 9 or 10, you need to start studying if you want to get into a very good school. If you don't, you might not do very well in the test and might even fail. But if we practise at school, we will gain more knowledge about it and know a lot about how it will be like. However, if we choose that we don't want want to do the 11+, those children could just practise some things that they might find difficult in the tests from the people who are doing the 11+. That way, they will be learning new things but will also be preparing for any exams they might have later on.
We could measure whether this had worked by setting up an exam at the end of term to see whether they learnt anything about the topic or not. After they have got their results, the teachers will know where their weak spots are and will try to help them in doing better in those questions. I think this will be a very efficient method and will help children pass their 11+.

Schools should focus on having more exposure to clubs such as learning musical instruments and possibly build a school orchestra.

First and foremost, children can develop there academic skills such as : long-term memory, concentration skills and mathematical adroitness. To be able to synchronise the notes you play with the beats you have in a bar obliges you to use your concentration skills, memory and adroitness. This will make a child have an edge over everyone else at maths as they will be much faster at calculating things. Music is like a foreign language, depicted by sounds rather than words.

Secondly, a child would have an optimistic, positive mindset as they get to play soothing, harmonious melodies. Music is like love and happiness; first you must learn how to play by the rules, then you must forget the rules and play from your heart.

Last but not least, children can nurture a talent and discover a passion they never thought they would do. Maybe one day, they can even become part of an orchestra or a musician. Music is a key that opens a door to a remarkable path of amazement, happiness and even a whole other universe!

That is why schools should bring in musical clubs as it helps kids learn at school, make them more happy and can nurture a talent.
