Sometimes propaganda from different sides gives contradictory information.

Governments who create propaganda might also select particular information that promotes what they want people to believe.

Your challenge:

Come up with a new idea that helps people access all the factual information that they need and check whether propaganda is telling them the truth.

It could be something to do with technology - like an app on a phone...

...or it could be something that someone finds within a newspaper or on a website

...or it could be something that is taught in schools

...or something else!

Also, remember to explain why you think your idea would work!

Of course, in our modern age, there is a lot of information and propaganda that we do not know if it is real or fake, but how do we know that this propaganda is real? Advertisement is real or fake.
1- Reading: Reading is one of the most important sources of obtaining real information. We can know whether this propaganda is fake or real by attributing the information published by this propaganda, according to the information we have read. We can tell this post is fake because we've read this information2- Websites: We can obtain real information through some reliable websites that base their information on real facts and evidence, or from websites that are documented and supported by some well-known trusted channels.
3- News agencies and news sources that investigate accuracy and integrity
4- Trusted person: We can get information from someone we know and are sure is publishing real information
In the end, reading books and magazines and learning from school remains the most important source for obtaining true and reliable information.
    Do you know other sources?

Well, since you did not specify the type of information, I will say several types of information and how to make sure that the information is valid..!

1_ Information about cases: We often witness news about cases and crimes, especially at this time, and in order to know the correct information we want, we will demand that everyone who publishes new news about the case that occurred with (conclusive evidence) such as a video or a statement from the victim..!

2_ Information about the war: As we see these days, there are thousands of news about wars, but some of them are not true!!
In order to ensure that people hear true news, the person who publishes the news must also come with conclusive evidence!! Such as (a statement from a president, a statement from an army, or even a video confirming that this is what happened!!)

(We should not believe what we see of news unless we see conclusive evidence for what we heard..!)
(Most of the ways that we confirm the authenticity of the news or information is “a video filmed from inside the event... a statement from the person who did something and made people hear..”)

Good ideas, independent_technology. You said that news and other important information should be based on conclusive evidence, such as authentic video clips and eyewitness accounts. Can you say more about how we can confirm the authenticity of such evidence?

My idea to help people access the factual information they need is to weigh out the options, usually when some is trying to spread false propaganda there has to be some truth in it. To create propaganda good or bad there is always some atom of truth in it, so I believe that in any news of the war between the Russia and Ukraine the people just have to do their research and they will find out what they really need and want to know. In my school we do programming so I am pretty sure we can make an app that is able to weigh out the options of the propaganda being true or not, we can all it propaganda screener.py
I think this idea would work because we all have common reasoning if we think and carefully reason through propaganda we can find out what we need to know and choose who we want to support.

Or they can take people’s opinion, search and pay attention on the Internet. A source is said to be factual when it is reliable. It is strenuous to detect if sources are reliable or not, because airing an assumption or dispensing misleading news is trouble-free for anyone, particularly when it is electronically connected. Although, news sources can be reliable as far as there is a small confirmation to back them up. It is quite sad to know that it is mostly fake news that goes viral before the blink of an eye. With time I have used some guidelines to ensure that the news I get comes from a well founded source and I think this is a great opportunity to share it with the rest of the world.

    1. Try to doubtful or unconvinced not all the time but most of the time.
    2. Ask a lot of questions.
    3. Inspect the source of the information. (this is very important).
    4. Read the comments people make on a post, you never know what you can find.
    5. Make sure your information source is always current.
    6. Make sure the journalist who gave the information is well known.
    7. Make sure the information is not racial, oblique(any form of bias).

This has helped me a lot and I am sure it will help others to

The media can greatly influence the opinion of the people, and false information that the propaganda intended to convey to the people may arrive. What is the solution?

    1) Before being reckless and judging anything, we must verify it through news, television, and reliable media (that is, the media that is from the heart of the event (direct filming) as it is the most real and trusted media), this is the simplest solution anyone anywhere can obtain it..
    2) As for the innovation program, this is a nice idea,But with the development of technology, it is likely that the bias of the country that owns the most softwareevelopment. It will not be difficult for a country capable of technology to penetrate applications for its benefit...
    3) As for the school curriculum, if the state is with Russia, it will support Russia's propaganda, and if it is with Ukraine, it will support Ukraine's propaganda, the school curriculum is very smart and depends on persuasion, and it varies from state to state...

Well, I think that fake news has several dangers, including a misunderstanding of social and political issues, such as the issue that is currently causing controversy in public opinion, which is the war between Russia and Ukraine. The writer, if you want to know a news, you must verify the credibility of the writer and the correctness of his news. 3. Have a critical mindset, as many false news are published to provoke anger and feelings. There were pictures attached to the news and we must check them very carefully.5. To verify our personal biases, we all have prejudices and whether this news will affect it or not when you read it. Also, the idea of a person accepting a subject or idea makes his thinking able to believe it faster than the ideas that this person rejects.🤷‍♀️🦋

In my opinion, the best way to recognize the real true propaganda comes from very early stages like working on the educational system at schools. In this way, you can builg generation thah believe in truth an reality. You can also pave tge way fir small kids to think critically of their current issues . Gradually and through a well desgined educational systems, change can successfully done. These system have to make awareness compaign to raise students understanding of their global talks like the policy of their country. Step by step, students will be become able to think deeply and distiguish between the right and wrong and bad and evik. They will cime to a stage to differentiate between the ture and the fake proaganda! So yes, the content of materials at school can focus in some argumentative issues like this and that will be accordingly.
Methodolgy also play a role in awakening students mind. The audio visual materials used can be helpfulin streesing the propagandas and agendas country lije sharing videos, wepsites, pictures and audios.

It is possible to verify the truthfulness of propaganda or news by comparing it with reality. For example, the presidential tower will collapse shortly. People will automatically say this is a lie or it is impossible for this to be true.
False news can be from unreliable sources, or the name is suspicious or strange, for example, news, and the name of the source is the dark horse, for example. This is funny and questionable as well.
Also, when society sees a kind of "rumour", it must be keen to limit it, not circulate it and accelerate its spread.

The question is for you, do you see the ads that suddenly appear to you on the sites? Some people ignore ads by clicking on the (X) sign, but there are ads that we are forced to watch because of the timing!! Why don't we use ads to spread the hidden truth? .... From my point of view, making a video that does not exceed 30 seconds containing correct news with clear evidence “photos” and placing it in YouTube videos as an advertisement that appears to the user while watching videos on the YouTube platform seems like a great idea to spread the truth faster and larger, you can imagine that the number of YouTube visitors around the world 30 million visitors per day, suppose that each person watched 3 videos before leaving the platform, and out of every 3 videos, there a video that contained the ad we made, and now he is forced to watch the ad because we used timing.
And here we are making progress in revealing the truth in a single day to more than 30 million people, The idea seems good if we think about it deeply because it will help to reveal the truth in
    1_ faster time
    2_ less effort
    3_ more people
But we have to follow the law of attracting the viewer in the video, we should make video short , and at the same time mysterious so that the user feels that he wants to delve deeper into the topic and discover more and this will make him search more on social media for the truth and the rope of lies is short, then the correct news will be revealed from the fake and false ...

With help from my programming instructor and some of my friends, I think I can make this work. The news will be based on researches and proven facts and it will include thoughts from world-renowned experts that are famed for their honesty. We can name the robot Stacy and We can program it with cool features such as being able to talk. The robot will be able to go online just from simple words. For example, the user can say "Hey Stacy, what do you think about bias in Nigerian workplaces". All results will be based on factual information. The robot will be child-friendly and will have assorted IQ enhancing games that will provide creative ways for children to learn about the world around them. From time to time there will be fun facts and tips on how to stay safe online and quizzes too. There will also be recommendations for news websites that one can trust to give him/her factual news. My idea to help people access the factual information they need is for the media to look for sources they can rely on, and then fact check the stories before uploading it. Because the media is a big influence to the people and whatever is on the media, that is what people will believe. I can testify to that. So the media should be mindful of what "they" upload.
I think this idea would work because people always wait for the media to upload stories before assuming things. When people see or hear what has been uploaded by the media they believe it. And if what was uploaded was wrong, people will see it and believe and that is how rumours might spread. But if what is uploaded is the truth, then people will be on a "safer side"

  • British Council.jpg engaging_queen | Bomas Academy | Nigeria
    15 Mar 2022

My idea to help people access the factual information they need is To get information from different sources, this will serve as evidence on perceived accuracy of statement. The sources could include the media for example, internet, newspapers, television; government owned news channels and independent news channels. Getting information from various sources is more persuasive than a single source, when people see information, they should trace it to its actual source, most time it takes a thorough search on Google like going through two, three or four links because it is always better if you can get the original source and see if it is trustworthy. It is always good to see the fact verification email at the end of every post.
I think this idea would work because people will assume that those sources contain different argument that point to the same conclusion. Information from a questionable source may be tendered as true regardless of the source it was gotten from. Any information that is initially assumed to be true but later proven to be false always have a way to influence people’s memory and their reasoning just as people say in every rumour, there is an iota of truth. So people should not accept information when it is inconsistent regardless of the quality of the argument because someone who is misinformed is less likely to accept evidence that goes against the information gotten.

My idea to help people access the factual information they need is Is to educate people about how to get information online and also on the different types of URLs and domain names. URL that ends with .com .org or .net as their domain names are sites easily bought by anyone so their information can be biased or manipulated. Using sites whose URLs end in .gov or .edu in their domain names hardly posts fake news unless they are hacked. People should always take a closer look at the source of the information to know if facts and credentials are listed, or are the authors writing in their opinions. Additionally people should check the date of publication to avoid using an information.
I think this idea would work because educating people on how to use the internet will help them know the sources and the different suffixes that are trustworthy. The organisational purposes and agendas are very important so people should always consider these when surfing the internets and also reading articles or news.

Propaganda is the weapon many countries use to falsify and hide facts, so how can we tell false news from the truth?
Not to take the news from a specific source, but rather to take it from several sources and compare it to find out the fake from the real.
Obtaining information from reliable websites (that do not have political goals to achieve or seek to falsify facts for their sake).
Design software capable of distinguishing between fake and real news, and this solution is suitable for our current age because it is characterized by technological development.
Refer to the information of the writer or the owner of this news and find out the authenticity of the news or the authenticity of the source from which it was transferred.
Weigh what is happening on the ground with the news to see the consistency and credibility of the news.
I believe that these solutions will have effective results because they are appropriate for our times in various fields.

My idea, which helps people to reach real and logical information, is to search in the smallest things of information and search for all the options and facts that are published about propaganda, meaning that if a person wants to know the extent of the truthfulness of propaganda, he should search for it carefully, meaning that, for example, he must attend Propaganda and looks at all the news that has been published about it, researching all the facts and evaluating them, thus helping him to know the truth, and also it is possible to help the media. This also helps to know the facts.
Also, I was going to say that it is possible to search from the Internet, but these sites may be controlled by the government.
Also, if a person wants to know the facts, he can go he saw the propaganda with his own eyes and heard it with his ears and could tell him everything, and (and if it was permitted) the same person could go and watch the propaganda to discern the facts.
In fact, if anyone wants to know the truth, he must start researching propaganda from the time the propaganda begins, and follow it step by step.
I have several ideas that I will say to help people know the truth, which are: We can go out to the streets and ask people questions about propaganda and introduce them to the facts, and make them also help us spread the facts more and more to the world, and this method I am sure will succeed if we do it together.
It is also possible to express through drawing, to draw expressive drawings that express the truth.
We can shoot documentaries or plays in school and act and create something wonderful, because people are fascinated by these things and pay attention to them, and we send them to the world.
Finally, in my school we learn programming on a program called (Scratch) and this program allows us to design games, arithmetic programs, animated banners, advertisements and many other things, and we can design advertisements in which there is truth for people and so they will be impressed by it and from them they will love this and draw their attention to this things, and we can also design a game in which there are two characters, and the good character is the correct truth, and the other character is propaganda.
I am sure if we do any idea we will implement it perfectly, because we all have the same thinking, and we want the correct facts in the world and we want to live in a world full of security and happiness.

Well, my idea is that I and some of my friends in our school will set up a school radio about false news and ways to reduce it and verify the information, or perhaps we will do a theatrical sketch and a dialogue about it. This theatrical sketch shows the negative effects of false news.

From my point of view , to know whether the propaganda announces a text of real or false information , one could go back to the past of the two countries and study the relation between them .
In terms of their interdependence and the method of the sequence of emergence and occurrence of this war that occurred between Russia and Ukraine, and a review of the events that were published, and whether the events that were published are from a trusted advertisement page or not .
Also to analyze the direct reason that was established on the basis of this information?
Well, I'll tell you how I chose this idea in order to know what is going on between the two countries and the reason behind this dispute .

-2 In my opinion, fake news has several risks, such as misunderstanding about the issue that raises controversy in public opinion, which is the war between (Russia and Ukraine). !! 1- It may be related to technology - such as an app on the phone. If we create an app that is able to balance the advertising options, whether they are correct or not, we can check everything related to the ads, such as a “tracking app.” If we think, this idea will work, we can see what We need propaganda, whether true or false. It is easy to distinguish between what is true and what is false. Or it could be something that is taught in schools. One of the best ways to identify true and false advertisements comes from very early stages, such as advertisements. For this example, there are negatives in schools, including: (students will be drawn into advertisements, advertisements reflect the educational process) The media can affect greatly On people's opinion, false information the propaganda aims to convey to the people may arrive. What are the solutions?? 1- For schools, if the country is with Russia, it will support propaganda
The Russians, and if they are with Ukraine, will support the Ukrainian propaganda, and the curricula are very smart and depend on persuasion, and each syllabus is different from other countries. 2- We should not believe everything we see on the news.

We can detect fake news through Snopes, which detects fake news spread on the Internet and can be used to verify user-generated content and also many of us may be deceived by some false news, but if you follow the steps I will tell soon, you will be able to ignore the scientific topics with a fragile foundation that we may read Daily .
1- You should search for the source of the topic to check whether this method has a good reputation.
2- You have to ask yourself whether the results of the study you are looking at are valid or not.
3- You can search for the name of the journalist or writer to see the nature of the topics he usually writes about.

So that we can distinguish the contradictions in the news, and believe the true news and negate the false news:
1- We must follow neutral television channels in transmitting news.
2- Ensuring the authenticity of news from more than one channel and not being satisfied with one channel.
3- Conducting interviews with people affected by the audio news to obtain information from its source.
4- Going to the field and searching for the truth and documenting it with pictures of reality, numbers and proportions.

My idea to help people access the real information they need is to make an electronic watch that contains applications that transmit real information to them from all over the world at any time and place, provided that the “internet” is available. The watch allows people to send suspicious news and it makes sure of its authenticity. The user of this watch can browse social sites photograph them if something happened in front of him that deserves to be published to the world and he wants to broadcast the news as soon as possible. This watch will help to document the real events that happens around the world. It will be accurate in telking time and place of the actions without lies or exaggerations.
The idea is very good and suffice because the watch will be easy to take with us anywhere, and people like to wear electronic watches because of their beauty and the fact that they add elegance to the style.

Well, my idea is as follows:
The first step 1: Placing the facts, non-discrimination and bias in the school curricula. This has a role in knowing the truth, even if it is small.
The second step 2: The person must look at the information he needs from more than one place in order to verify its authenticity, taking into account the focus on the images that are spread, as they may be old images and have been published or re-published now.
The third step 3: Agreeing on a newspaper or making a new newspaper based on facts only.
Fourth step 4: Make awareness segments for people every month about false and unreal advertisements and listen to their advice and opinion on the subject.
Fifth step 5: Creating entertaining and educational programs and applications that spread the truth.
Sixth step 6: Talk to famous social media and social networking sites and have them talk about these topics and educate followers.

My idea, which helps people to reach real and factual information is to intoduce subjects like History in schools at the senior level. This helps the students to acquire sufficient knowledge and hidden facts about the kind of environment they live in concerning both the past and present. I believe that my idea would effeciently work out because we study History in my school, and when scenarios like such arises, it helps one to compare and weigh the propaganda the government is giving them and the information they must have been able to gather about their country from what they have been taught in school, so it helps to discern true from false propaganda.

Thank you sir I really appreciate. An example of a past propaganda was during the first and second World War. Posters urged women to help the war effort. The women really contributed to the success of the war whereby the women's land Army of England, went the extra mile to have worked on farms to grow crops for people to eat and be physically fit for the war. Young women, as well as mothers were also encouraged to put pressure on their sons, brothers, husbands and fathers to join the army, which they did efficiently and through them the British were able to conquer and stop the Germans successfully. I believe this propaganda really helped the people, and I suggest that the women should be given all the credits and appreciation they deserve.

Yes, as I earlier mentioned, there will be cool features on the robot that is sure to attract both parents and children. When parents hear that only factual news is gotten from the robot they are sure to be attracted. Also, the cute nature of the robot and its ability to talk, combined with the fun games and activities are sure to attract children. To ensure it reaches a wide audience I can get a few of my friends to help me advertise it by writing blog post about it, I could also offer complimentary upgrades for first 10 buyers, spread the news through email and with the help of some people I could put up ads on popular social medias such as Youtube, Instagram or Facebook.
Yes, there will be cost in the beginning but as demand increases the price will also decrease. It is simply the law of demand and supply.

For me, there are many solutions, and I have a solution: to have a global channel that monitors all the international propaganda, media, programs and news that are important, and this channel must combat all lies, and publish correct and appropriate things and information. Do you have other ways? Do you think propaganda has a positive or negative effect?!

In my point of view, I think there is no need to invent or develop any kind of technology to test the accuracy of news. I believe that awareness comes from rising the generation well. Family is the most important factor in socialization. It is the first representative of culture and the most powerful group influencing the behavior of the individual, and it is the group that contributes to the greatest extent in supervising the social development of the child, forming his personality and directing his behavior. After that, the school system and curriculum direct the individual sights towards critical thinking and distinguishing the truth.

    My idea of helping people access all the factual information, is simply teeling them to do their researches, and since I'm giving you this recommendation, i will tell you how;
1- search about who said the propaganda:
You have to check how honest are they, there's some people that are known for lying so you can't trust what they say, same thing applies on propaganda.
2- read the other side's propaganda:
If it's a war or a fight, it definitely has two sides or more, so you have to read all perspectives.
    3- compare the propaganda:
I said that you have to read both propagandas, so, next; compare them, which one seems more accurate?, From the way the propaganda was said, which one belongs to a liar? (You can tell that by the wording, the way the teller "express" their opinion, or even the energy it gives!) And by that, chose your side, and make sure to stand with the right one!
    4- spread awareness:
Tell people what you figured out so they don't fall for lies! And making it in a fun or interesting way is much better (people often follow things that aren't boring).
