The American Election

On November 3rd, voters in America will choose their next president. The presidential campaign is now in full swing and, as always, it is dominating the country’s media and capturing the world’s attention. This half-term, students will explore where the power lies in the American election: who can become president, who can vote and whether some people’s votes are more powerful than others’.

Welcome, or welcome back, to the Burnet News Club. In Issue one there are six sessions plus an additional Introductory session, so don’t delay! Start your club! Get them thinking! If time is tight, you could merge sessions five and six by completing the final piece as a discussion, rather than a written task.

All activities have been planned in line with the government guidelines on social distancing. We will continue to adapt our activities as these guidelines change.
