Interview with Martyn Ashton.

Hero US Election

"Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?"

"Hello, I am a man called Martyn Ashton. I am 45 years old, and I am a professional mountain biker. I was born in Manchester, and I have a wife called Lisa."

"How do you feel about tomorrow's election?"

"That is a very good, and quite tricky question! In my opinion, I feel a tiny bit nervous, but at the same time, I also feel excited! I think this because I would like the woods saved, and if Donald Trump is elected, I would not be happy - he has not promised anything about nature and Climate Change. I also feel excited because it is a new time for America, and I am wondering who will win."

"Why should people vote tomorrow?"

"People should vote tomorrow because every single person's vote could have the power to change the whole election! Also, it is nice to have your say, and you never know, the candidate you voted for, could become president!"

"How powerful do you think your vote is?"

"I think my vote is half and half because my state is a swing state, so it has an even number of electral votes, and we could go for any of the candidate's! I have the power to say who I think should president too."

"Can you explain why some people might not vote?"

"Some people might not vote because they might not like the two choices of candidates who are running for president, or they simply think their vote would not count. Also, some people can't vote in the first place. If you are voting, you need to be a certain age limit. If you think your vote will not count, think again, your one vote will be counted, and everbody else who votes, will probably feel the same."

"Would you ever run for president?"

"I would not run for president because politics is not really my thing, and I do not think I would be able to cope with it. Also, someone else would probably want to do it, and they would probably be better at the job."

"How do you feel about the voting system in America?"

"In my opinion, I do not think it is fair because the electral votes are too much, and they are all states."

"Thank you for listening to the interview with the wonderful Martyn Ashton. Bye for now!"
