March 8: International Women's Day

Happy women's day to all women out there. To the caring sisters, the loving wives, the concerned moms, and the working women. In this day, we raise our voices reminding the world who we are. We celebrate our rights and call for change: fighting against discrimination. It's a long way up, but we will get there.

Happy Women's Day to all the amazing girls and ladies who refused to be erased or made invisible. Keep shining on!

Now tell us, why are you proud to be a woman?

and, a question to the boys, who is that one woman in your life that you are so proud of? the one that reminds you how powerful and capable women actually are?

I'm proud to be female because I know that I have the gift of influence, because I have a dream of a time where women will be appreciated for who they are and there will be no exact need for us to stand up for our rights... because we will be understood, and because I have the privilege to bring forth life.
To every girl out there, I hope you find reasons to be proud of yourself no matter what you're going through... as I have always been told, "It's a phase and it will soon pass." Don't let yourself be discouraged by the society, it's not always right.

I am proud to be a woman for so many reasons. One of the major reasons is that women are capable. Let me give an example. I come from Nigeria where we farm a lot and where a woman needs to work very hard to keep her family together. It's only a woman that will wake up early in the morning, prepare breakfast for the whole family ever so silently, while everyone is still in dreamland without even alerting the hairs on their head, wake everyone up, prepare and go to the farm with her husband, come back home around noon with firewood atop her head, and perhaps she has an infant child fussing at her back, even when her husband probably starts complaining of fatigue, she goes to prepare lunch, pounding a local food we call, "fufu" and making soup, serve the family, wash the dishes, she might have some laundry to do, she will get started on those, pick the clothes up when they are dry, iron them, arrange and fold them properly, she will go to prepare dinner again for the family, feed them and prepare everyone for bed. All these daily. This proves that women are indeed capable and are essential to the survival of a family.

I am proud to be woman because I can be on my period for 1 week and not die and this phenomenon also gives me the privilege to have babies and then breastfeed and I get to have a bond between me and the baby as they grow inside me, this process is really amazing and the fact am given a very rare opportunity to birth a living person is really exciting.
Also I am very simple but stylish and make fashion of my own. It is a proven fact that we also grow faster than our age which makes me emotionally strong and helps me understand people better. Lastly I can multitasks no matter the pressure and can make magic out of a mess so am proud to be an opportunist and a woman.

Well in terms of biology girls undergoe puberty earlier than boys due to hormones, but from where my point of view women are trained to be strong emotionally right from a little age and a major factor is our environment. Take for example a girl who loses her mum at a very young age and is forced to take up the responsibilities and role of her mother especially if she has younger ones obviously this would make her more mature than her peers, apart from this I feel its a natural gift to be able to think ahead and know how to easily express and control emotions and also the role of her father is also important.

I am proud that I am a woman, because the woman created societies, she was the mother, the educator and the caretaker of the family. She was sometimes the mother and the father at the same time. She was and still is the sacrifice, the love, the dreamer and the supportive. She fought customs and traditions, pulled herself out of the shell of societal norms, confronted and did not stop dreaming, demanded her rights and freedoms, stood and declared that she had rights as men, and reached equality with men except in some matters, but she will continue to be able to gain her rights more, she entered professions and businesses in all fields, she resisted The difficulties, she made success and her ambition did not stop, she lived through the stages and came out of them stronger, as she is a teacher, an engineer, a lawyer, an astronaut and a doctor. With her rights, she obtained the greater part of her rights, and perhaps from this position, I realized my rights, thanks to her. It ensured the rights and dignity of future generations of women,

I’m proud to be a woman in 2022 because we have a voice. The volume of our thoughts and expression are as loud as ever and matter the most especially today. We have the freedom to use the power of our minds, and our hearts are impacting more individuals than we could have ever imagined . I mean looking back at all the progress and how the bias is actually breaking I am surprised but no doubt but also happy. I may not be old enough to have experienced every prejudiced act that has afflicted the female gender over the past century, but I easily stand with those who have expressed the trials and tribulations that women have faced for a long time.

I am proud to be a woman because I believe women were made as pure gold. Every woman goes through fire, series of pounding and smoothening and through thick and thin before we are polished to be as shiny and beautiful as gold. Despite how unfair the world may be to us, we still have dreams that we would like to bring to reality. We believe strongly that our present situation can not stop us from being excellent. Women are so creative and Our creativity surpasses all imaginations. Women are so beautiful, our elegance is not something that can easily be graded. Women have words of different kinds of emotions and we know exactly what we want, how we want and when we want it. Women are the best description of love.

I'm not a boy, but I want to talk about that one lady in my life that constantly reminds me about how powerful women actually are: My Mom. She married a man, the type of men who believes that women belong to the kitchen, women don't need to study because they'll end up as house wives, and most importantly: Women MUST obey. She's so ambitious. She never let him crush her spirit, so she left. It is hard to choose independency, but it is harder to live in a mental and physical jail. My mom now is continuing her studies in Political Science in college, working a job where she's the boss, and taking care of the family. Since I was little, she always said to me:" You are your only limit".

I take pride in being myself . I am able to stand up for what I believe in, no matter what the cost. My intelligence and knowledge makes me strong, I'm beautiful inside and out.

I'm a boy, and that one woman that I'm inspired by is my mom, and here's why, my grandparents moved to Saudi Arabia, and my mother was born and raised there, it's known that over there everything is taught in Arabic, so when they moved back to Lebanon in her teens she faced the struggle of not knowing a bit of English in school, however that didn't stop her from acquiring the basics of the language. Moving on at 20 she gave birth to my older brother, and then at 22 she had me, and just when I was about 40 days old, the 2006 war broke out, it's quite unimaginable how hard it was back then. Of course that crippled her college education, however as time passed by, and at the age of 31 she gave birth to my sister just as she was finishing her degree in Arabic Literature, although she was facing both being a student in the Lebanese University which is know to be not that cooperative with students in terms of luxury education, and being a housewife, she finished her degree successfully, and is currently a teacher, proving that both the Husband and Wife can work and have a well family, and that all the struggles she faced didn't stop her from continuing her education successfully!

I am proud to be a woman because I believe that women can do anything, I believe that women are strong enough to face any problem or challenge before they can be as shining and beautiful as the sun. Women don't belong to the kitchen, women aren't born to be a maid in the house ,women can educate and teach, and be an educated woman that helps herself by herself in all her life. And another imortant point, women can depend on themselves, they don't want anyone to protect them. As they say "A woman is the half of the society ".Briefly women are the vertibral column of our society because without women no one can live .

On the occasion of International Women's Day I would like to say a few words
    .
You are capable, O woman, able to achieve the impossible, and this has been proven by history day after day. The mirror is the center of the universe, which has always redirected the helm of civilizations to the right place.
That woman who rocks the bed for her young children is the same woman who is able to shake the world, because she is the first factory for leaders, with which men increase their firmness and determination to achieve goals.
Women's Day is a special day in which women are keen to color stories with stories of success, because they deserve to be celebrated, and they deserve that award that has always been for the struggling woman.

Today is 8th March 2022, we are celebrating Women's Day internationally. What do you think? Can men help women achieve the equality that is so sought after by the world to create a peaceful environment for people to co-exist in?

It is just like the process of creating delicious food. All ingredients have to come together in harmony to create a mouth-watering dish that will tickle the taste buds of people and spread the pandemic of happiness and satisfaction throughout their bodies. It is the same in this case men will need to work together with women in harmony to create a peaceful environment free from bias for the benefit of everyone.

Gender equality can't be achieved and strengthed without cooperation of men. Working on the future generation and teaching the importance of gender equality will be the only way to get free from those old bias based- beliefs

Women should be celebrated because they complement 70% of the agricultural sector which gives food to Kenya and earns revenue to Kenya which builds the cities and brings more growth to the economy.
Women should be celebrated in Kenya because they helped s in fighting for our freedom. For example, Mekatilili wa Menza was a Giriama leader who fought for peace against the British Colonizers. In Kenya now, Raila, a political leader is vying and is trying as much as he can to bring equality by electing women he selected Martha Karua as his running mate and the president is also trying to help in reducing gender inequality.

    Link: youtube.com/watch?v=QHIMg35Adfc

Is your country's government trying to curb inequality in this sort of manner?

What other reasons are there for women to be given a day for celebration?
