Women being biased against women

Break the Bias Feature Image 9

Hi my name is Emotional_Piano,

I want to talk about women being biased against women. For example, a student is suspended because of her dress code from school. The female headteacher meets a student, who is a girl, wearing shorts. The Female Headteacher said, "your shorts violates the school dress code - they are too short" and her friend said, "NO! they don't...,". She took her books from her and asked her to go to the office for disciplinary action, which was not right because the school allows girls to wear shorts as part of the school uniform. Next to her were some boys passing with the same size of shorts and some even smaller than hers, but the headteacher did not bother to ask them why they had those shorts. This shows that the headteacher is biased against the female gender.

Another example is a lady who applies for a job and luckily gets selected for the interview, but at the interview panel, she meets more more ladies, who tell her that unfortunately, we already have more women and we are looking for a male to take up the position. This is bias! Every job should equal employment rights. All genders should given equal rights.

A really interesting story here that raises a couple of points we can discuss. Well done!

Sometimes there are rules that try to make men and women, boys and girls equal. Are there occasions/examples when these rules don't work and there is still bias?

Why are women biased against other women, when they face those prejudices themselves?

Because if a woman is married, she takes the rationale and nature of her husband, and if she is single, she imitates the stamps of her brother, father or one of her relatives.

    Q. Why do you think women are biased against other women.
    1. A major reason for this is jealousy and I think this issue is one of the things that give the opposite gender the courage to discriminate against women. For example, a man can see a woman being biased toward another woman and think"oh, if they do it to themselves then surely I can do it to them too". A woman can be jealous of another woman for a reason and sees that the only way out is to criticize attack and try to sabotage the woman because she sees success in the woman that cannot be seen in herself.
    2. A woman seeking approval from others especially the opposite gender can stop so low as to criticize another woman to adapt to new trends in the society without stopping to think about whether what she is doing is right.
These are my sincere opinions about this issue. I am talking from experience because I too have been a victim.

In the battle for gender equality, women face not only masculine discrimination that discourages them, but also feminine prejudice that makes it difficult for them to achieve equality between themselves and men. Sociologists confirm that the stereotypical culture in which women were brought up, especially in Arab societies, is what made them deny the rights of their female cousins and do not work to change the prevailing mentality in dealing with them, which further marginalized them.

I think that one of the most important reasons for women's bias against a woman like her may also be due to the social sediments that some women suffer from.
For example, if compared in terms of aesthetic or academic, then here is the problem. The nature in which a woman was created does not like to be compared to her peers. This is where jealousy begins and turns into a prejudice that may become aggressive between them.

Please can you explain what you mean by "the nature in which a woman was created"? This implies that all women are the same - but this is not true.

        Katie @ Topical Talk's comment 15 Mar 2022

No, this is not what I meant. I mean that women, by their nature, do not prefer to be compared to a woman like her, so you find that she hates some questions from each other.

            Katie @ Topical Talk's comment 15 Mar 2022

It may not be fair, but the female always prefers to be distinguished from other women, so she wants not to ask about something that may bother her, such as asking, for example, about her age or even about her salary or job and how she got her. All these things make her nature so

Ok l say The woman performs the role of wife, partner, organizer, administrator, director, re-creator, economist, mother, disciplinarian, teacher, health officer, artist and queen in the family at the same time. Apart from it, woman plays a key role in the socio-economic development of the society.

Some of the major reasons why I think women are biased against women include:

    1. Jealousy: This is a major reason. I think this issue is one of the things that give the opposite gender the courage to discriminate against women.

    2. A woman seeking approval: When a woman is seeking approval from others especially the opposite gender she can stop so low as to criticize another woman to adapt to new trends in the society without stopping to think about whether what she is doing is right. This happens when a woman does not know her worth and what she is capable of doing and she is trying to bring down another woman who is trying to show her what she is not seeing.

    3. Another reason is that some women have grown into the mindset women are indeed inferior to men. They have come across it s much in their day to day life that they now believe that it is true so much that when they see another woman trying to make a difference and take a stand they try to bring her down by discriminating against them.

These are my sincere opinions about this issue. I am talking from experience because I too have been a victim.

Yes, it is true, for many women become prejudiced in the first place, especially when they become convinced that there is a woman who may reach a position and a decision-maker here, who starts trying to bring down this woman by the girls of her gender

Why do you think women are biased against other women.
The reason being that, the training given to them by different parent also lead to this because, some parents are not fair.

one reason is they are jealous to women on how they look or maybe their had a brother and the parents like the male gender ( which is the brother) in most of situations like that the women will likely pretend to be the opposite gender because the way she was raised was in a very bad way that made her hate her gender. And in the world they are more reason.

Someone who is bias make decisions based on how he/she already feel rather than by looking at the facts t hat we are all human no matter our differences, so we should not hate one but love one another. So let's all love each other and not make bias seperate us. If bias comes between two people it easily separates them.

In August, our country conducts elections, and sometimes women vie alot. These women who vie, normally get 20% of their fellow women's support and this is showing that women are being biased against each other in society. This bias made women not get represented by the government because they did not elect women who can understand their daily problems and cab them. We need to cab this inequality to also get equal governmental support as men and boys in society.

About boys wearing shorts that are to short that is not fair but for girls to wear shorts that are to short can attract unnecessary attention from boys so I think the shorts should be longer just by maybe 3 inches

      intuitive_dinosaur's comment 17 Mar 2022

This sounds like you are asking women to dress differently to stop a bad behaviour from men, which doesn't sound very fair. Should the women have to dress differently? Or should the boys giving unnecessary attention have a consequence for their actions instead?

HI intuitive_dinosaur the comment is not that true . That not true. It is like your saying that all men get attracted so easily but it is not true. Some men of the world are not attracted. like a man l now has a small brother they are all grown ups d and they all have different behaviours. The older brother is attracted so fast so easily that when he saw a girl he love

Loved her but the smaller brother is not attracted easily like his older brother . Not to be mean but how women dress is not the problem in this situation .

A very notable point there emotional piano. To Olivia's question, I believe that this happens (women being biased against women) because of traditional reasons. Majority of the human population has chosen to see the picture just as it was originally painted to be. If we accept this picture, then there will be no moving forward for us. I believe that no matter how we try not to be biased, there is still a part of us that connects to our ancestors (who originated this issue of gender inequality) and makes us to accept what they introduced. This is why it is possible today for women to be biased against women even when they face the same prejudices themselves.
I believe that the way out of this ditch of gender bias is to attack that part of us that identifies with that negative aspect of our ancestors. Fix this and the whole thing is fixed and the world will be free of this menace.

To build a more gender-equl world, we need to break bias!

Unconscious gender bias remains a significant barrier to women’s career advancement.

The unconscious gender bias continues to impact women in the society activities, and more must be done to enable highly skilled women to advance into leadership positions.

So, we need to break the bias, to have a diverse, equitable, and inclusive world.

To break gender bias, we need first to understand what is gender bias to avoid and eliminate it. Societies should make every effort to educate people through ongoing training.

Also, it’s important to recognize our personal bias and acknowledging it. This allows us to actively set it aside in our thoughts and actions and build positive experiences that will broaden and adjust our thinking.

When a woman is prejudiced against another woman, the nature of the society in which you live is prejudiced against women, so these women tend to this society, so they have to stand against it, but sometimes these women do the opposite, and that is not the main problem against girls' bias Against each other, there are feelings of jealousy and rivalries that occur between them that motivate this problem.
