The People.
The ones that got us into this mess.
Two thousand, five hundred, and twenty-seven years ago, democracy was created by the Ancient Greeks; several years later it had been divided into two different categories: direct democracy and indirect democracy. Indirect democracy is when Mps are voted into Parliament and make decisions there. Direct democracy is when people personally vote for what they believe ; I am against this.
On the contrary, by saying this I know that some may believe that I am showing disbelief to the people of Great Britain; however, by leaving the fate of the country in the public's hands shows great naivity and lack of maturity. Mps didn't just wake up and become what they are; they earned their status; they have experience; they have what the public don't: political wisdom.
To explain my view further, Franklin. D. Roosevelt -former U.S president- stated the following: Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.
Education.
What 'the people' don't have. I believe that we are a well-educated country; however, if only they were as educated in the politics field, we wouldn't have fallen into such deep trouble.
A real-life example is from the 23rd of June 2016: the Brexit referendum. People voted whether they wanted to leave the EU or not; the outcome of this vote showed that the people of Britain wanted to leave the European Union; however, they were not educated.
So, I believe I am right because any that propose the motion want a divided, uneducated, catastrophic Britain.

Wow, this is an excellent Final piece and your unique beginning makes it really powerful. You have chosen really different adjectives to describe 'the people'. I wonder if you could take a couple of these and explain them further?
