The journalist who will report the events of the November conference!

The world is facing a climate crisis. In November, world leaders will gather at COP26 in the Scottish city of Glasgow to discuss what needs to be done. Therefore, in order for all the peoples of the world to know what will happen in the conference, we must see the characteristics of a good journalist who will report to us the news of this important conference.

Who is a good journalist?

He is the person who conveys through writing his presence of a specific event and thus conveys the experience that he lived and witnessed to the reader, in order for him to live the same experience, and make him feel that he was present in that event.

What are the qualities of a good journalist?

1_ Curiosity: The curiosity that distinguishes the journalist from others comes in the first place, as he must be able not only to question, but to know and clarify things. The journalist must ask the six questions, which are "Who...? What...? When...? How." Where...?Why...?

2_ Creativity: Because when you present an idea in a creative way, it makes the largest number of people interested and look at your ideas and act according to your advice.

3_ Courage: because it will help the journalist to talk about the real scenario that is visible and amplify the ongoing problems.

4_ Honesty: because it helps deliver the right messages, making it more trustworthy and avoiding misunderstandings. Also, the journalist's skills become useless unless they are reflected in ethical behavior.

5_ Language proficiency: Language is one of the most important conditions for success in the profession of journalism, because the distinguished journalist is the one who writes articles and news in a sound language and correct grammar.

6_ Self-confidence: One of the most important characteristics of a successful journalist is self-confidence and awareness of the nature of his work and all the circumstances and risks that surround him in order to be the best carrier of his profession.

What is the role of the press and media in spreading awareness of climate change?

Studies that have focused on analyzing the causes of climate change indicate that there are natural causes for this phenomenon that have no human involvement in it, but that irrational human behavior is a key factor in the causes of this phenomenon, including (burning fuel and waste..etc) that produce gases from It would multiply this phenomenon, and all these behaviors result from the absence of environmental awareness, which means that the success of countries in confronting this phenomenon is related to the awareness of their citizens and the rationalization of their environmental behavior. This highlights the role of the press and media in solving this issue by:

1_ Attention to climate change in the media discourse: by publishing many seminars, workshops and discussion panels related to climate change through channels and newspapers.

2_ Media treatment of the phenomenon: by paying attention to extensive and in-depth coverage that is dominated by the analytical and interpretive character that sheds light on the various causes of the phenomenon and discusses its repercussions and multiple risks in a way that achieves a full understanding of the citizen and increases his awareness and contributes to rationalizing his environmental behavior.

We also see that a good journalist and the press in general have a great role in spreading environmental awareness of climate changes. Do you have another characteristic of a good journalist? Do you have any other work done by the press to reduce climate change? Share your opinion with us in the comments.

The journalist has a role in spreading and developing environmental awareness, and the issue of protecting the environment has become a responsibility that requires us to move to save it and spread awareness to preserve it. The role of the media in developing environmental awareness The media in all its forms contributes to the development of environmental awareness through cooperation between institutions, universities and schools in order to prepare media campaigns that are related to environmental protection. Detection of infringements and abuses that have an impact on the environment, and the media aims to develop environmental awareness through the allocation of a weekly program, which is presented on a regular basis in order to increase public awareness of the protection of the environment in which they live. I think that the media does not negatively affect the environment, but the more it knows that it is not hidden from many media outlets that countries with commercial interests refuse to abide by new laws and regulations and environmentally friendly machines, on the pretext that they harm their national economies or the high cost of environmental and nature protection measures, the responsibility of the media is to educatePeople are constantly aware of the importance of environmental issues and make them feel that they are concerned with environmental disasters and have a moral responsibility, or a role to play to protect what remains of natural life, or clean air and water, and to make them also partners in remedying the direct and indirect impact of environmental disasters on their overall health, economic and moral life .
It is true that the media did not commit any sin against the environment, but it is responsible to the public, and its responsibility is no less than that of universities, environmental institutions, ministries and the government. Rather, I think that its responsibility goes beyond that because it is first and foremost the first and essential source of knowledge for all people, so the media cannot, in all its forms, To remain absent from environmental concernAnd this specialization falls from his calculations. No, but I think that it should form an effective environmental media and not leave this field for any other media, such as artistic, sports, economic and other media.

The media is one of the basic ingredients in preserving the environment, as it works to disseminate environmental concepts and values that would promote and consolidate the terminological and ethical foundations for the environment. It also seeks to achieve awareness and develop the environmental sense of each recipient of the environmental media message. Simplified and comprehensive for the public and providing them with information related to the environment, informing them of all new locally and globally by conveying the most important news and topics related to the environment and following up on all actions and decisions taken by entities in the public and private sectors that would harm the environment, and thus contribute to the efforts that are being exerted to pressure to stop The formation of environmental awareness in a positive way aims to contribute to prompting citizens to change their behaviors harmful to the environment, and to participate effectively in its care, and thus create motivation for the individual to participate in solving environmental problems by highlighting the element of benefit or interest from his participation

We are all aware of the importance of the journalist in our lives and the amount of trouble he faces to obtain information or to publish a socio-political or even humanitarian issue. It can be likened to “like a candle that burns to light the way for others.” Therefore, from my opinion that the journalist plays an important role in informing people of the environmental problems that We are currently facing it and making people more aware of environmental issues, for example, in the crisis of Corona Covid 19 and the subsequent noticeable environmental improvement and a decrease in emissions, the whole world is linked to news and its transmission, so in such crises the focus is on the journalist And what it transmits in numbers, other and urgent news is the first place for people to listen to, as they were the first line of environmental statistics in terms of fires that cause floods, and also even telling them that the land in this crisis has restored part of its health, such as news of reducing emissions and the layer of weight, as well as the emergence of new plants that had become extinct And other news.
I believe in my opinion that one of the most important characteristics of a good journalist is objectivity and lack of bias towards a particular aspect. A good journalist has the ability to separate truth from opinion and also has flexibility in dealing with emergency stories and following up on their details. The validity of the news that he reports by referring to its reliable sources is not suitable to be a journalist. But in general, a good journalist transmits news or information in a circumstance that is similar to an eye surgery in its severity.
Finally, I want to ask you if a journalist can turn into a bad person who broadcasts false news? What will you do if you meet a journalist who lies in his news!?

I think a lot of journalists turn out to be bad news broadcasters because fake news lures viewers to journalists' websites and publishing a story with false content that attracts users benefits advertisers and improves rankings. There are a lot of journalists who spread false news in order to gain fame and attract people. I also think that people should be warned about them because they spread rumors and we should not call them journalists.

We all know the role and importance of a journalist in society as a journalist works to raise awareness among people and works to improve the level of culture and the way people live and creates a state of awareness about issues that affect them, such as the climate crisis and the Corona virus.
I want to tell you that a journalist must be honest, but if a journalist wants to lie about some things, he must have reasons:
Or it could not be that he wants to work on increasing the growth of his country's economy, increasing the visits of tourists to his country, and increasing economic and other investments, and then this has a connection with his country.
Or maybe he wants to preserve the privacy of the individual and his personal secrets and not to leak them so as not to insult the human being, take away his dignity and humiliate the people.
Or that he wants to convey his lessons or wisdom, educate people with it, and make them care about what surrounds them, such as the climate crisis, disasters, and work to protect the environment.

I think the journalists has to first feel the pain of the people who is living under enoromous pressure due to climatic changes. Other than they will not be able to feel the vulnurability of the crisis . So, the journalist should must visit the low laying countries first than they should go to cover the COP26, then and only then it will be possible to get some benefit by the journalists , as they will be able to question and bergain with the world leaders about the decisions they are going to make.

A journalist who promotes climate change and climate-related activities is known as an environmental journalist.
In addition to informing and raising awareness among people in society, other environmental journalism objectives include:
Generating debate on issues related to the environment.
Promoting climate change among the population.
Providing synergies to topics ignored in the general media.
Promoting the approval and improvement of environmental policies.

People are immensely attracted to magazines that come with the newspaper. Like in our country, a magazine is attached to the newspaper every Sunday and people are really eager to read that magazine. Since people are eager and attracted to the magazines and comics that come with newspapers, attaching some comics, essays, and photos that show only about climate change and making it a monthly magazine with newspaper will definitely create public awareness and people will raise voices about climate change.

The journalist has an important role in our daily life, so the journalist works in the written media such as the press, magazines and newspapers for advertising, and also works in radio and television and in the means of communication with the public, offices and news agencies. Many journalists work as a freelance or freelance journalist who travels to different countries and transmits news from them،Some people realize that the journalist is the media person. They understand that they do not believe that the journalist has a profession and a role for him, as well as the media person, because they share many work duties and goals, but they differ in the percentage of time available, the speed of showing the results of news work, direct interaction with events and independence by working away from association with institutions Therefore, there are differences between them, but they are very simple, and despite that it is not possible to confuse the journalist and the media person. We often hear the word journalistic or media work, and here everyone is confused, are they two names for the same job? Or two different jobs? Do the journalist and media person share the same tasks and duties or not?
To clarify this, we must determine who is a journalist and who is a media person, what they have in common, and what they differ،First: Whoever works at the headquarters of a newspaper or magazine is a journalist, and whoever works in a channel or radio is a media person, and they both hold a university degree in media.

Second: The journalist is usually not very well known unless he conducts a major journalistic investigation, so his name becomes famous, but his appearance remains unknown. As for the journalist, everyone knows him, especially if his work is on screen and radio, such as broadcaster and program presenter.

Third: The journalist's profession is rather calm, does not contain pressure and specific times, and does not react to events quickly. As for the profession of media, it is always under pressure, and it interacts a lot with events that require direct transmission, commentary and interaction.Fourth: The journalist progresses in work within the newspaper or magazine, within a specific sequence, he may start as a reporter or editor and then move to another job such as a language proofreader, assistant editor-in-chief, and so on until he reaches the editor-in-chief. As an editor, or a reporter, broadcaster, and program presenter, the media choices are greater. As for the differences between a journalist and a media person in the workplace:
First: The percentage of financial income for a journalist is lower compared to that of a reporter; Because newspapers and magazines usually do not have the financial resources, as do television channels and radio stations.

Second: Moving between television channels and radio stations is easier for those who work in them, so they can switch here and there, while newspapers and magazines are difficult to move to others, due to the lack of funding and the lack of opportunities available, compared to the number of channels and radio stations.

Third: Journalists in newspapers and magazines move to channels and radio stations, but we rarely see the opposite.A journalist can also be independent, and practice his work away from newspapers and magazines. He establishes websites and communication pages, and publishes or sells his work to newspapers, magazines, or channels and radios. As for the journalist, he usually works within channels and radios.

In my opinion, a journalist should have these qualities as well:

    1. Objectivity in the journalist’s writing: One of the most important basics of success in journalism is objectivity in the journalist’s writing, and objectivity is presenting facts to the masses and discussing general topics without being affected by personal opinions. Interconnect, accept and criticize others, listen and diversify, and then thank him with a wide horizon

    2. Credibility in writing and reporting news: The journalist must be honest in reporting events, news and the press text in general, because credibility is one of the most important basics of journalistic work and the absence of any important details in the journalistic work may lead to the transmission of inaccurate news and the weakening of the journalist’s credibility among the people .

    3. Verification of news sources: The diligent journalist must verify the source of the news before publishing it and transmitting it to the general public. He must be keen to know all the information, even the minute, from the source of the news itself, even if this requires going to the source himself so that the news is It is reinforced, documented and ensures that its news is not false or far from the truth.
