How do you look at money? Good or bad?

You would think that money was a good think, wouldn't you? If course for some it comes easily and they can throw theirs around, while others treasure every penny. So if we consider the points then maybe we can realise the effect it has on the majority of people.

Personally, my first impression of just money in general is something that...

• May course problems mentally and physically

• May course jealousy

• Might course arguments.

I don't know about you (but I would like to later if you comment) but I don't think that my first impressions are TOO great. If we look at it from another angle though...

• Money makes you more responsible and can help you to spend it more responsibly

• Money can have a positive effect on people that find it hard to talk - it's an interesting conversation to chose what you can spend your money on.

• Pocket money helps adults get a hand around the house and this is a large positive part of money.

As you can see, there are many reasons on both sides. However, there is an example I spent a long time thinking about that may help us see the situation a little more clearly.

You are in a class and your teacher is nice when she's nice, though unpopular when she wants to. So, you often like her, but often don't. When she\he is kind, they are like money when you aren't in a mess. But when they are grumpy, they are like money when you are in trouble - like bankers in the financial crisis.

So, how do you look at money. In my opinion, money is an improving process and someday, we will have solved all difficulties financially. Although it may not look to great currently, money will improve ( by the way things are looking) and things like the financial crisis won't happen again. If we're careful. I'm pretty sure of this though BNC has helped me to practise open-mindedness and welcome other points of view. What do you think of my opinion and what's yours?

I believe money can be good or can be bad, it just depends on who's hands it's in.

For example, if a charity had money, it could be seen as good because the money is being used to help people who need it. However, if someone bad, like the mafia for instance had the money, then it could be seen as bad.

Yes I think that it depends on how and who money is given to and used. If you spend it on sweets it could be a waste of money, if you spend them on drugs or things like fireworks it could be dangerous, used for charity (like you said) it could be good and used when people bribe each other (like the bosses in the financial crisis) it ca certainly be bad. However, as money is precious, we should look after it whether or not you use it for something dangerous...

Money could be a good thing because without it we might not be where we are now. The house, flat, bungalow et that you are in now, was bought with money. The device that you're reading this comment with was bought with money. Money is like a friend. It helps you when you need something done.
However, you might begin to get over powered by it. In other words money might begin to be your solution to every thing , instead of thinking about other options.
So overall I believe that money is a good thing.

Yes because I can use it for many this which are appropriate. But also No because there are many homeless needing homes but we don’t want give money to them. So I feel half half about this situation.

I think money can be good and bad too
it just depends if you are using it wisely or not. For example, if you use it for reasons like giving it to the poor or contributing it to the charity it can be good. Where as if you over use it like showing off and telling people to do stuff for money it will be over using the power of money which is bad.

So overall I think money is good and bad

Money is a weird thing, it does cause jealousy and crime but also it is the way civilisation is formed. People earn lots which causes crime and the crime is caused by jealousy. Sometimes people have very little to no money because of mistakes or just the way it is. Money helps or ruins all and it is a very hard thing to debate about. Why do we have money? What is the point of it?

I think money has a point as money is useful and very bad as people buy alcohol or smoke.

Money is very significant due to the fact that you need it to survive because if you don't have money then you can't buy things you want or that are actually necessary.

I couldn't agree more, though there are good sides and bad sides. I think that their might be some other things we can use, stopping people using money for the wrong reasons...
      • We could introduce trading, e.g if you make some trousers I'll give you twenty tomatoes. The downsides are people may be better than others and lose things if others are better than them, and businesses like Tescos will lose business.
We could introduce competitions in which you earn life supplies, in local communities so everyone has a chance to win. The downsides of this idea is things might be organised badly meaning people rely on the competition and end up in BIG TROUBLE!!!
We stop money altogether and in groups people swap things. This is ok apart from the fact that this will take a lot of time and work.
      What do you think?

Can you describe money in 3 words

I agree with benevolent_musician, everyone uses money in a different way that may be good or bad.
I think people who are very mature and have a great deal of respect should be able to have the money. Instead, and this is sometimes the truth, people who are bad and have no respect whatsoever come with a hand full or money in their pocket, this allows them to make sure even more bad things happen.

    Let me ask you this:
Why is money important, not only for food or necessary things, but in other?
