Hong Kong in crisis

Dear Mr Cleverly,

There is a crisis in Hong Kong and people are protesting in the streets. They are angry because they are not getting the ‘one country, two systems’ that was promised to them when China took over.

Britain ruled Hong Kong for 156 years then we signed it over to them on the 1st of July 1997 and made a promise with them that said that Britain would make sure that Hong Kong could keep their freedom until 2047.

I think that we should help but not intervene because if we intervene our country might be at risk of danger because they have the BIGGEST army in the world and it could risk war with the Chinese or at least risk trade with them. But I also think we should help because we made a deal with them and we should honour that. Mr Cleverly please take my concerns to the parliament and debate what we can do.
