Letter to MP

To Faisal,

Hong Kong was once ruled by Britain and the people of Hong Kong got used to living like us in a democracy.

I think Britain should get involved in the Hong Kong crisis because in the agreement that was signed by China and Britain, they both promised to make sure that the way of life and the economy in Hong Kong would remain unchanged until 2047. China has broken this agreement.

In china, you can get put in jail for criticising the government or for campaigning for human rights. This isn’t fair because they are used to having freedom of speech.

In 2015, five Hong Kong booksellers who sold books that were critical of Chinese leaders vanished and ended up in Chinese prisons.

China has a policy of not interfering in the problems of other countries. Britain does not, so we must help Hong Kong now!
