Letter to mr Gove

Dear Mr Gove,

I am a student of Hammond junior school in Lightwater, Surrey which is part of your constituency in Surrey Heath. Today I am writing to you in regards of the Hong Kong crisis. Now I do know that you don’t study the particular event of the Hong Kong crisis, but what I do know is that you have got a much better chance of the government listening to you over me. The Hong crisis is where China agreed a deal with us called sino-british joint declaration which stated that China and Hong Kong would have a rule that meant 1 country 2 Systems. Now, China are choosing mostly everything for Hong Kong. Since 31st June, Hong Kongers have taken to the streets to protest. This deal was made in 1997 when Britain handed Hong Kong back to China.

I say that we stay and don’t go. I have many reasons to support this but I have only chosen a couple. Firstly, the Hong Kong crisis is infamous(famous for the wrong reasons). I see it nearly every day on the news and it has come round a lot. Also, if we go and intervene , we could spoil our trading with China. Finally, they have got more than 10 times as many people as us. Half of that is probably their Army.

Onthe other hand, life is getting hard for Hong Konger and we partly started this. Hong Kong are relying on us. Most things in Hong Kong are chosen by China. Also, we might as well go now (if we go ) before it gets any worse. In my personal opinion, we should not go, however , others will have different view.

In conclusion to this, we agreed a deal that China have now broken. And China have the largest army in the world. We should have the government negotiate a deal really.

thank you for reading this letter

yours sincerely
