Should we intervene in the Hong Kong crisis?

Dear MR. Gove

I am a student at Hammond Junior School in year 6. As a result of this, I live in Lightwater, Surrey which you shall know is part of your constituency in Surrey Heath. I am writing in regards of the Hong Kong crisis, and whether we should intervene or not. I hope you will agree with me and respond as soon as possible.

I am sure that if you are informed about this particular matter, you will know the situation in Hong Kong is escalating, and China may bring out their army to end the raging protests that have been happening since June. It is OUTRAGEOUS! How would you like it if this was your home city! The one country, two systems rule is being ignored, and these poor innocent people are being stripped bare of their Human rights! Which other country is responsible to sticking to the rule? We are! We must take action and end these people’s misery and free them of their despair!

However, we must plot our plan cautiously, and wait until the correct time to strike. Firstly, we must wait until the Brexit crisis has come to its conclusion, and then will be our glorious window of opportunity! Although we cannot act like blood thirsty barbarians, instead we must plan our attacks strategically and carefully. One important hurdle shall be sheer size and strength of the relentless Chinese army. The first step to complete if we are to have victory against the shadow will be to get the USA onto our side, as they are a strong ally of the United Kingdom and a worthy match for the shadow in the east. If we fail, there will be a growing darkness descending upon the earth and the age of the Chinese empire shall rise! And who would want that? Nobody, of course!

As you can tell, I strongly believe we should intervene and I hope you will take my ideas seriously, and inform the rest of parliament about the treachery and deceit of the enemy. I hope I will receive a response as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Hi genius_flute, thanks for submitting your Final piece. I can see that you feel passionately about this subject from the way you have written. However, I think we should remain open-minded and conscious of other people's experiences, even when writing to ask for action. For example, you say, "There will be a growing darkness descending upon the earth and the age of the Chinese empire shall rise! And who would want that? Nobody, of course!"
If a Chinese person reads this (which it's likely they will) how do you think they would feel? Is this sentence based on fact or opinion? I understand this language may have been chosen for dramatic effect, but it is important to stick to the facts and evidence in this context.
