My final piece

Featured Image: Protest 2

Hello I am eager_chocolate and this is my final piece, hope you enjoy reading.

Host: Hello and welcome, my name is Alyssa Pillow, your host. As many of you may know last week’s topic

was climate change but this week we are moving on from that and exploring the topic “Protest, Does It Work?”

We are joined today by Tyler and Samantha to discuss protests.

The things we are going to consider are:

  • Do they work?
  • Are they effective?

Here are a few examples of current protests that you may have seen in the news:

▪ HS2

Riot

Virtual activism

Civil disobedience

March

Host: We would like to welcome Tyler to the show. Tyler would you like to introduce yourself and tell us your views about protests and whether they work?

Guest 1: Hello, my name is Tyler, I am 12 years old and I live in West End with my parents. I do agree with protesting and I think that it is a good way to express what you think about the subject. I think it is effective because it draws attention to the issue.

Host: Why? Can you give me an example?

Tyler: In my opinion, I think they work because, for example, Black Lives Matter have really got the message across because it has been flashed up on the news many times.

Host: Why?

Tyler: Because people are made aware of the issue and either want to help or at least take an interest in what is happening and changes are beginning to happen.

Host: Thank you

Host: Let’s now meet our second Guest, Samantha. Hello Samantha, would you like to introduce yourself and let us know what you think about protesting?

Guest 2: Hello, my name is Samantha, I am 11 years old and I live in Lightwater. I don’t agree with protesting as it is not a good way to get your opinion across.

Host: Why? Can you explain please?

Samantha: I feel this because most protests are not getting the message across because the violence is all that is generally reported, and once people have seen that violence, they think that protesting is bad and the message of the protest is lost. They are seen to be getting in the way of other people’s lives.

Host: Thank you, Samantha.

Host: Thank you both for contributing with your opinions. And that is all for today, see you next week when we will be discussing the highs and lows of home schooling. Bye for now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, eager_chocolate
