Protesting for a differnce

Featured Image: Protest 8

Hi its Ethical cliff here,

Why do people protest ?

In my opinion people protest becaus they want to make a difference to the socity or even the world for dicussions like climate change. I also think people protest because they do not aggre with what people like Boris Johnson say and want their ideas to be included.

Does protesting makea difference ?

I think that protesting sometimes makes a difference because when people protest for climate change like Greta Thungburg and enororaged world leaders to make a difference and try to solve climate change.

What do you think ?

Hi there I love your post so much your post included loads of great ideas and creativity points and I had one of my points to also add to you hopefully agree with it.
I think that some protest may have a good impact on the government and on the world and other protest might not have the same impact as to what a good protest has.
The reason why I think that a good protest may make an impact on the world is because protest are made for people to let others hear that voices protest are made to raise a huge point and to say this is not right. If you didn’t have protest no one would be able to hear the voices the world would be a whole different place no one would get to fight for their Justice. No one would be able to say anything therefore I think some protest such as the “March, and the silent protest would be more suitable for that as you saw Olivia posted a post which said what is protest She added loads of information and gave seven types of process and the one I was concerned about was the silent protest and the match protest at first when I saw the silent protest I thought it was quite stupid because you’re keeping silent therefore what’s the point in doing a protest a protest is to use your voice but then I went into more research about that and I found that the silent protest is basically when a group or a crew create a silent protest by not fighting I’m not hurting each other but by creating like a platform for a suitable place to do the protest.Protest like this could actually make a change in the world in my opinion because you are not fighting anyone you’re not hurting anyone and you’re not putting that in self at rest that much but protest like the BLM protest and other protest climate change might have a bad impact on you. As I wrote in one of my post I gave an example and I said what if an old woman I was walking down the road and there was a protest going on and there was quite dangerous and the woman was walking down the same alleyway the protesters were walking on and please accidentally threw take us on that road and the old woman is really old and is that the point on that imagine what a serious impact that women could have the protesters might not be as hurt as the woman but the woman could be in serious pain. So I think that we should try and use the silent protest more in the world then the march protest and more protest like that. And I think that the more that we use that the more it would have an impact on them or they would have a difference in the world because I know no one likes to be hurt no one likes to be fighting but a silent protest doesn’t include any of that or it might do but I think you should try and use that so than the government realise that all these people want to change so let’s make up a few changes that the world would be more peaceful and that would mean no harm during any protest. Hope you agree with me you should be really proud of your poster was really good to read.

You make some great points about the impact that peaceful protests can have decisive_redcurrant. Do you have any ideas why protests might sometimes start as peaceful but then become violent?

Because people will come and ruin it Or maybe that they don’t think that people still have stopped becoming violent so therefore it ends up on the news or something and then they will probably think that the government have heard of heard there voices but they might of not

Thanks for your input @ethical_cliff. In your poster, you made a generalised statement: 'people like Boris Johnson say.' Can you give an example of what Boris Johnson said and why people would disagree with his opinion?

Thanks for your reply @ethical_cliff. You mentioned that some of Boris Johnson's colleagues blatantly broke the lockdown rules, but were not punished severely for it. Can you provide the title and author of the news article you got this information from? How does this link back to protesting for a difference?

Thank you for your response @ethical_cliff. To summarise, you have stated that some of Boris Johnson's colleagues broke the lockdown rules, for example Dominic Cummings, when they travelled whilst having COVID symptoms. What type of protest did people do to show their dissatisfaction with the difference in rules for ordinary citizens and public figures?

Because they didn't think that it was fair that there is a rule for one person but not the other

Thanks for your reply @ethical_cliff. I understand that people may protest because it isn't fair that there is one rule for ordinary people and another for government workers. Can you state what type of protest do you think is the most effective way to get public attention? For example, do you think a silent protest, a strike or any other form of protest is the best way?
