How can we help Refugees?

Refugees and Responsibility – Featured Image 3

Nowadays, people only look after themselves but what if all of that changed. What if we all helped each other and work as a team. If we work as a team, then we can create peace once again.

Why should we help Refugees?

We should help refugees because refugees are the exact same as people and we want to live in a world where there are problem's but we can solve them so we can live in peace and harmany. We all know that air, food, shelter, clothing, and safety are the basic human needs that everyone deserves to have. To end the refugee crisis, every country must take a stand to end this issue. This has been going since ww2 and we need to take a stand for this or else it wll carry on forever. Today, most of the world refugees are hosted by developing countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Libya, and Bangladesh.

How can we help Refugees?

We can help refugees by...

Donating money to a chartity for refugees

Employ refugees

Let a refugee in your property

Hold fundraising events

Recognize that refugees are humans, just like you

A great set of ideas, sympathetic_swan. Has anyone done any of these, or seen someone else do them?

    We can help refugees
Work as a volunteer at a refugee organization near you. You can harness your skills to teach refugees a specific language, craft or sport.
Helping refugees find work, where you can hire a refugee, support a refugee-owned business, provide training or volunteer opportunities for refugees.
Be a supporter and advocate! Join a campaign to raise awareness of refugee issues and show solidarity with them.
Help the refugees integrate and take a tour of your city, offering them activities such as watching football together or having dinner.
Make a donation. This option may not be practical for you, but your donation will make a huge impact on the lives of refugees.

My favorite is to employ refugees. I don't like donating, I want something that will have long lasting benefits. "Help a man catch a fish and you'll feed him for a day, teach him how to fish and you'll feed him for a life time". I don't remember the exact quote but you got the point.
Employing refugees will help them provide the minimum proper life for their families and not wait for aids or help to come their way. This will boost their mental health too! Feeling independent and and living a proper life will make them feel a little more like home. Which then will boost their productivity.

I am a Palestinian refugee, and as a refugee, I, my family and my grandparents have lived through this crisis that we are suffering from until now. I can only suggest the ways in which assistance was provided to us. At first, the United Nations sponsored us and collected many donations from countries, which gave us urgent and medical relief aid, which highlighted Our cause is to the world to mobilize financial support so that we can live and settle down until now. Many countries are funded by the United Nations Refugee Organization in Palestine. They have established schools, clinics, and hospitals for us, and provide food parcels to people until now. They have worked to employ the refugees themselves in their offices, headquarters and schools to serve refugees. They have built homes for the needy. I helped fund many surgical operations for refugees, granted scholarships to refugees, set up UNRWA universities, this is what the United Nations granted us because we are the asylum seekers, but if I had the opportunity to donate to refugees, especially since I am the closest to knowing their needs, I will be active on the communication sites To draw attention to the weakness, brokenness and need experienced by the refugee, I will hold a campaign to collect financial and material donations starting from home, school and In the neighborhood in which I live and present it to a human rights organization that takes care of refugees, through my campaign, I will ask industry owners such as the carpenter and merchant to donate furniture, food and clothing to the refugees. We must stand by them and help them overcome the difficulties of asylum.

I know of a president who has helped refugees from all over the world. President Joe Biden expanded the COVID-19 pandemic response beyond the U.S.'s borders. Upon taking office, the administration quickly acknowledged that the pandemic response could not stop at the U.S. border. It joined the World Health Organization (WHO), increased its resources, and launched the Global VAX program to provide vaccines to refugees, asylees, and people living in poor and conflict-affected regions. In addition, the administration agreed to a United Nations Security Council resolution to facilitate more cooperation to increase access to vaccines. A refugee from South Sudan, received his first COVID-19 vaccine at Bangatuti Health Centre III in Bidi Bidi Refugee Settlement thanks to the help of President Joe Biden.

I disagree with you sympathetic_swan that "air, food, shelter, clothing, and safety are rhe basic human needs, to live as a human in this modern world with the evolution of technology a lot of other needs are added. Isn't now a mobile phone a must? Isn't education a must? What were considered luxuries in the past decades have transformed into needs now. In contrast, someone might say that to live and be able to breath all what you need are the needs mentioned in the post, but no, this doesn't work anymore, if a human lives in this situation, then what's the goal of his/her life?
If you have other opinion please share with me.

Through the construction of institutions that support the refugee and provide him with all he needs of food and clothing requirements, and this institution represents the role of protection for them, so they must provide them with these requests. 2- Providing young refugees and children with study centers. 3- Helping the newly arrived refugees to settle down and provide them with housing. They must also be granted work visas or provide them with jobs to meet their daily needs.

I see you sympathetic_swan mentioning only ways to help refugees concerning financial issues and physical needs, which of course it's important and especially employing refugees. But on the other hand we don't have to forget the second part of refugees suffer which is related to mental health and well-being where now refugees don't even know what's the meaning of well-being. So we have also to mention some solutions and measures for such issue which were already mentioned in previous post and comments.
Let's always equalize between psychological and physical states even social one which is to let these refugees engage in our society by several ways which one of them is employing refugees.

Helping refugees integrate into a new culture.
The movie The Good Lie did a great job of portraying the feelings of isolation that refugees can feel when they are relocated to a new country and then try to get over their trauma and restart their lives. Even small gestures of friendship can mean a great deal, so see if you can volunteer with an organization in your community that's working with refugees. (Religious groups and local nonprofits U.S. Together in Ohio often have refugee programs: quick research shows what's active in your area .) For example, in Canada, private individuals or groups can apply to sponsor refugees to come to Canada and help them integrate. A European organization called United Invitations invites people to welcome refugees to dinner or to accept an invitation to dinner at the home of a refugee.

    Hi my name is emotional_piano,
I have some ways to we can help refugees in the world, which are:
    1. give them a home.
-when refugees go to a new country, some do not have a home so some live on the street and some live on a box. We can help them by inviting them to your house, you can by buying them a house if you have the money to or you can help them get a job they are good at.
    2. Food and healthcare
    - you see some refugees are so poor that they eat dirty food for a garbage place (which is very bad for them and their healthcare). Some have money for food and healthcare but some don't don't know the language they speak and some know the language but some government don't allow them to have mental health care in hospitals. We can help them by protest in To the government to allow the refugees to have good mental health care and food, you can help them with food or help them get a job they like.
    - And that was my ways of helping refugees,
    Thank you for your time🙏🏽,

I think there is a range and variety of things to do to help. From donating food and water, to taking someone into your home. I think that many chi9ldren refugees need to be taken into a home because many dont have their parents and such a large change at a Childs age can impacts there life so for children i think the best option is to take them into your home rather than leaving them homeless and alone. At a young age their life is precious and not to just be thrown away. Adults that are refugees are better at defending themselves but that doesn't mean they aren't vulnerable and scared. They should also be taken into homes but donations will also help them.

Refugees don't only need physical help but psychological help too With psychological help, they undergo therapies treating traumatic stress caused by war, conflict, and resettlement problems. There is a specific therapy done for children refugees and adolescent refugees. Have you heard of (TST-R)? Trauma System Therapy for Refugees (TST-R) is a comprehensive method for treating traumatic stress in children and adolescent refugees that adds to individually-based approaches by specifically addressing social-environmental/ system-of-care factors that are believed to be driving a child's traumatic stress problems. In my way of thinking, we should always consider children's mental health since it leads to depression and other psychological issues.

We can help refugees by making people notice them. We can do this in various ways including:

People walking on the streets are always eyecatcher by street art and sometimes want to find the message behind the art, use it to educate others, and purchase them for beauty. Street art is one way of helping refugees by educating others through the art that there are refugees who need our help and we need to spread the good news all across the world.

Making a site that educates people and informs everyone who is using the site's latest news about refugees so that they can always think of more ways of helping the refugees in their country. The can be created in a way that refugees abroad can be taught the languages of their host country, and culture and can be shown employment places in their host country.

Some one who might disagree with me might say that most street art are done by graffiti and the cops will get them for vandalizing a public wall but actually you can get city permits for doing street art including on walls only if it is important to every one. By important to everyone, I mean that the piece of art should be educational like how we are educating people on how refugees are suffering and it is as to act to save them. Apart from permits you can get licenses and mostly the permission of the building or wall owner. Graffiti or having an store is good because you can always place your art without them getting lost or giving to people who can also help you in spreading the news. Real graffiti is permanent.

We have to help refugees in different ways, but the most important is how we help. We must help them with constant help. There is a saying that says don't give me fish every day but teach me to fish. Our assistance to them is by teaching them practical crafts such as sewing, embroidery and wood engraving, or even by finding a job for him with a good salary in order to live a decent and good life and to secure the basics of life. Countries that receive refugees cannot despise or humiliate them, treat them as slaves, and occupy them with salaries that are not enough for one day.

Most children and sometimes adults spend their time on digital devices playing video games. This means that we can help refugees through video games or show that we care so that the refugees can get the motivation of waking up every morning and saying to themselves ''today I am going to be successful''. Not only the game companies but also technology companies like Microsoft.

I play Fortnite and I know that most people know the game because of its popularity but I learned that Fortnite has raised $144 million to help with relief efforts for those who are affected by the war in Ukraine. Now, the computer companies, epic games or maybe most viewed games along with Microsoft, had pledged to donate all proceeds from the game to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine for two weeks.

I play Asphalt nitro 8:Airbourne but I noticed a good change that makes people help refugees and stop getting false information like refugees are the intruders/ bad people thus we have no right to help them. The game got updated and that's when I found that the rider I owned from the game had a new outfit that had a heart on his chest with yellow and blue to symbolize love for Ukraine. The outfit was titled #StandWithUkraine and a new type of color design was added to the cars. It was a yellow thick strip going till the back and two blue ones running on the sides.

I found this information from balloon pop the game that Tom gave as a post.

    Evidence:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev1jMAfaiX4

    #StandWithUkraine

I suggest we must employ refugees in our work works and when increase their salary doing this can help refugees
and we must also recognized refugees as human like us we should not be saying bad things about them and we should not sack them from our homes when they come but rather accepted them with a loving heart and help them
and we should send their children to school and we should go to stores that have employed refugees because the more we by things from there the more they money which will help them
so I think doing this may help refugees
