Can we live in space?
Firstly, what would happen to humans when being in space? According to Google, NASA has learned that the ecosystem inside the spacecraft plays a big role in astronaut life. Microbes can change characteristics in space and microorganisms that naturally live on your body are transferred more easily from person to person in closed habitats like the space station. This means that space can affect the human body when in space.

Secondly, how will we build? According to HEROx, if the humans physically there, they have to be housed, fed and kept happy in between doing their work. If they're working from far away, there is a time delay to consider -- on Mars, the average 20-minute wait between transmission and reception means the rovers used there can't go very far. This explains how difficult it would be to contact and communicate to other people when far away from each other while building in space.

Finally, how will we be able to transfer the materials that we need across space? If we try moving life over to the planet of Mars, hauling building materials across 225 million km of space—the average distance between Earth and Mars—would be a nightmare. According to C&EN, it costs about $4,000 to launch a kilogram of material to low Earth orbit and many times that amount to send it to Mars, so trying to ship tons of concrete would be financially ruinous and logistically very difficult, says Robert P. Mueller, senior technologist for advanced products development at the Swamp Works, an innovation laboratory he cofounded at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. This explains how much money it would cost, how long it would take and how hard it would be to transfer materials into space.
In conclusion, living and transferring life into space would be financially, logistically and physically difficult. It is possible that we will discover a way to live in space in the future but at the moment, it would cost a large amount of money and time to complete such a task.

I think that we could live not in space, but a new planet that scientists say is ‘another Earth’ and when I did research, I found that this new planet looks like it has water and land and possibly life!

Yeah but you can do most of these on earth. Well you could not run out of oxygen on earth but you can basically do everything you do on earth,just you will always float and it could actually be really good fun!

I don't think it would be fair to travel to space and leave everybody else on earth because only wealthy people could go to space. As well as this the rocket might break if too many people might be in the rocket which would not end up very well

Personally, I think that this is a wast of time and money as it would cost $4000 to launch only 1 kilogram of material down to earth. Also it would be very hard to communicate.

We can't live in space because.
Firstly, oxygen would be extremely hard to generate because trees breathe out oxygen and breathe in carbon dioxide. I can't think of a way to plant trees in space. No one would be able to explore the outside world and get water. Imagine leaving all our wildlife and our planet we love and enjoy.
Secondly, black holes could suck up the house at any moment. I wouldn't enjoy living and having a massive risk of a black hole sucking me up. I would rather enjoy life on Earth than in space having a lot of worries.
Finnaly space doesn't have gravity so when we are in our house, we would be flying and we couldn't sleep on a bed or do anything. It is impossible because our house would float too. People could just float away from sivilization in a mater of seconds. I wouldn't enjoy that!

i believe that it will be really difficult to live in space, because we will need a really big rocket to carry the minerals we need and the oxygen we need for the 500 day wait on mars. But, it is possible, our space engineers are slowly, but surely getting us to mars.

On the one hand, lots of people think that althouagh going into space sounds cool, it is the right thing to do to not go to space. This is because they put health and safety before anything else! They believe that it could affect the human body so much it's not even worth thinking about going to space!
On the other hand, others believe that even though we are loaded with facts that going up there could be super harmful to our bodies, discovering and experiencing things in space is way more important than our health and safety!
After approaching the information with open mindedness and scepticism I strongly believe that not living in space is the right thing to do. This is beacause I am worried about humans dying out. Because of climate change this could be even more of a problem. I have more reasons stated above!

On one hand, living in space means we cannot use resources from the earth so will have to use an external power source like the energy from the sun which would cost a lot and be risky, we need energy to survive in this day and age. In addition to this it would be very risky to colonise a planet that we have not scanned the terrain and climate of and that might be difficult if we do not have a base we can receive messages from.

First and foremost, I just wanted to say that this is a really good post, and it was fun to read your post and write this comment. I think it would be possible to live in space as I am showing in this comment.
To live in space would be incredibly hard, however, because of the sun’s harsh rays, the coldness of space and meteors, and we need our best equipment to survive, just like we already do. We are always proving that it is possible to live in space (by exploring it) time and time again. But the longest recorded time in space is 437 days and 18 hours (done by Valeri Polyakov, a Russian astronaut) not close to long enough to properly live there. We could, in theory, keep going back and forth between Earth and space, but people don’t really want to be taking the sometimes as long as a day adventure on a regular basis, rather than living their lives. But not everything is that simple . . .
When in space, astronauts experience lots of changes to their bodies, most of them for the worst. There bones get thinner and weaker because they don’t use them - unlike we do on Earth. Also, astronauts experience all their blood in our bodies going to their heads because of the zero-gravity factor, different to what happens on Earth, and so does the water. This causes astronauts’ faces to look puffy, but it isn’t only visual changes. Because all the fluids rush to the head, the brain thinks there are too many, and tells the body to make less. This has an affect on the body once returned safely to Earth, since there aren’t many fluids, and astronauts have to rest for a few days. This means astronauts and soon-to-be ordinary people can’t spend too much time in space to stop lots of harmful effects: a slowing of cardiovascular systems functions, decreases production of red blood cells, eyesight disorders, and many more definitely unhelpful things.
To conclude, I think it would be possible to live in space, obviously with the right equipment and tools. But it would be a huge risk to try and do so as we are just sending astronauts out there, with no definite of surviving.

Humans are great at living in tough places. Even before we developed modern technology, we had spread out to live in all of Earth’s continents – from the really cold areas in North America, Europe and Asia, to the hottest parts of Australia. In my opinion I think we could live in space but it might be quite tricky. We’d have to find a way to farm in space, have enough supplies and oxygen. We would also need a water source . We would need to find a planet with a safe area to live in and enough sunlight to plant trees and grow crops.

This is just a question but, when you say could we live in Space, aren’t we already positioned in Space as Earth is in Space, or do you mean where you float and there is no gravity. Just a blessed question l.
It would help if this was answered.
And if it is true that you mean in Space and the galaxy, there is no evidence as Anything could happen, but I think it is impossible at the moment because we would keep on floating and we could not stay in one position to build.

I don't think we should live in space, because if we tried to even get to a planet like Mars, it would probably take quite a long time. So if we went to another planet further away like Saturn, you would probably be travelling for the rest of your life. Also, if something went wrong if you were on another planet, or if you were travelling in a spaceship, you probably wouldn't know what to do. Even if you did know what to do, you probably wouldn't get back to Earth in time, so that means you would probably die. That's why I think we shouldn't live in space.

I think it would be half and half because we could live in space and have a new experience and see how its different to earth and similar.But if we live in space things could be really difficult and what if somebody gets lost or what if somebody cant take it in space🌌💈.

soon yes we will live in space but only one planet , Mars . This is only the most inhabitable planet in space and the universe people will like the new changes and some people wont and i think its great to have an extra planet in case climate change gets the best of us . There will be space tours in a very stable rocket but can have some problems along the way,it will just be like flying in an ordinary plane going on an ordinary trip to outside or magnificent outside world.

I think the big trend of wanting to live on space is cool but at the same time many things could go wrong that wont happen on the earth. The food will eventually run out as will your air in the bag on the suit witch keeps you alive and breathing.
You may also feel bored at times as the moon is only a huge ball of rock witch you float around on. When your on the ground and think about floating in space, most people get exited but when your actually up there, you will soon get bored of the same old thing all the time.

It is a yes and a no from me of the idea of living on Mars and in space since NASA hasn't fully explored it and due to the water on the planet it is very possible their could be unidentified life forms which could possibly be dangerous. If mars has at least some kind of oxygen, probably not , we would most definitely be unable to live there. But there is possible chances and we will find out as scientific research continuously. Recently, 3-4 female astronauts were meant to go to Mars but NASA hadn't made the suit big and strong enough to with stand the air pressure and could not hold enough oxygen, but it is obvious NASA is trying to discover more and I think they are on to something big.
It is most likely the next inter galactic mission will be taken to Mars with the correct equipment to withstand the circumstances. Lastly I think we would not be able to inhabit Mars due to the sudden storms and unexpected weather conditions. It is possible scientists could figure out the weather in Mars using the equipment used on Earth but the weather and signal could affect the outcome and we would not be prepared.
In summary, I believe we could NOT inhabit Mars..

We should focus on actually getting a man to Mars, rather than looking to live there. We can not afford to look to far ahead, we need to things on step at a time. Living on Mars or any planet is the step after travelling there. It would be more efficient to class getting to Mars as a separate mission from living there. We could have two budgets then! Following on from that, if we make a rover which travels to a planet and also starts to make housing, it would be worse than one rover to travel, and then inside that robot... a rover to build and release objects. I do see where other people are coming from on this matter, obviously one robot to travel and build would be more cost and environmently friendly.

I believe we should not live in space. Living in space presents many risks. Firstly, there is getting there and that in it's self presents many risks. For example: in 1967, in a launch rehearsal, three astronauts died in a flash fire, I know technology has advanced since 1967 but traveling further creates more room for error, I was amazed to find out, a couple of weeks ago, that if the launch angle of the rocket is less than a degree of then the rocket will smash into anything beside it. Long periods in space can lead to big amounts of stress, spine compression, DNA damage and muscle loss, if we were to live in space people with high blood pressure might be seriously ill. In addition to this, venturing to live in space will have to be a team effort and countries will have to cooperate, I know that many countries worked together on the ISS but living in space is a much bigger project. We will probably have to venture out of the solar system because all the planets in our solar system have a reason to be uninhabitable. It would also be unethical to colonise a planet that has life, we could spread disease and create a multi species war.
However, we might have to live in space to save the human race from the red giant fury of the sun.

I totally agree with you mindful_wallaby because I think that we couldnt really live in space because of the dangers that could happen such as floating away or not having enough of anything like food, water and clothes.
Another thing i wonder is how you are going to eat your food as you would have your helmet on as their is no oxigen in space.

I think you may not be able to live in space . The reason why is you have to bring oxygen from earth and to create more oxygen you have to run water through electricity that is called electrolysis.The air and water from the international space station was originally from earth by people that came to space . That is why you may not be able to survive or live in space

think that if we find other planets we should colonise them because if Climate Change doesn't work out, then we might have to find a new planet to live on and possibly stay on. The people living on the planet might welcome us, and let us live there.
The downside to colonising another planet is that the people there will definately live a different way to us and, like you said, we could interrupt their way of life and they might kill some of us or order us away. The travel there might affect our skin and change some of our natural features/genes. It would also cost a lot of money to transfer the all humans on Earth to that planet and if we get there and the people there kick us out, we would have wasted a lot of money and some people might of died in the rockets or in the planet
To conclude, I think that we should not colonise other planets with life for the resons I have stated above.

I WOULDN'T BECAUSE IT'S A DANGEROUS PLACE TO LIVE. Space is beautiful but humans don't what's up there.and even our astronauts know what they go through and see when they get there.there are those strange beings called aliens living in space,and how can we live with such beings ? There are some poisonous gas in space and we would not be able to live in space for even three years.there some substance on earth that support man's life but some are not in space. We should stay where we are and produce and inherit our motherland so that our children will know their history.

It always comes to my mind how we will colonize planets other than Earth, meaning that if we find a livable planet instead of Earth, how can people be moved and divide states because people differ in religions and beliefs
In languages and people, they differ from one race to another in regions where they adapt, some prefer the life of the desert and some prefer housing in agricultural areas .. How can we move to another planet without making this into account. How do we change the lifestyles of humanity as a whole ?? !!

I think that living in space for like a week would be fun because we would be able to float around but then after that it would get a little bit boring because I know I would miss my family and I wouldn’t like to be stuck in a space suit too. But again it would be a cool experience and I know my brother definitely wants to go to space so bad.
