Should we use inflatable rockets or not??

I think that we should use inflatable rocket's because...
Good things about it:
1.well firstly it would be much more cheaper than a normal rocket.
2.It would be easier to make.
3.It will be easy for them to inflate it.
Bad things about it:
1.it could burst under the pressure
2.it could burn when it is taking off
So what do you think, that we should use inflatable rockets or not???

I dont think inflatabe rockets would make it to space because it does not have any thrusters and it would be a death wish because if you put thrustors on it it would straight away blow up and you will be dead.

I think it is a bad idea because it`s a waste of money and time. (Save up for better rockets)

I disagree that we should use inflatable rockets because yes, you can get up there. But how would you get back down? You can’t put thrusters on it because the moment you turn them on the whole thing would blow up. You can’t deflate it because that wouldn’t do anything, you’d just still be floating around in space with an even smaller chance of being able to get back down. And also if it’s inflatable you can’t have firm surfaces to stand on or store things in, so your food and water would just be floating around.
Interesting counter-arguments, valuable_insect. Do you think inflatable rockets could be used to help the main rockets?
I think they could HELP, but I don’t think they could ever be used on their own.

I believe that inflatable rockets should not be used because the weight of equipment inside the rocket is too great for it to float. Using an engine would power it upwards, however, it will burn because of the sheer amount of helium used inside the rocket. In addition to this, the rocket will disintergrate on arrival outside of the atmosphere and the Gs will just rip it apart, plus if it can go back to earth then the arrival will burn up an d if it already isn't disintergrated it will be and it needs good heat resistance so in conclusion it is just not a good idea and its a safety hazard therefore, I believe it is a bad idea.
Can you find any evidence which suggests inflatable rockets could be designed to deal with these problems?
to try and find a solution (I believe)
1. I think that if the rockets had a backup coating of steel and heat resistant stuff it could be possible but the cost will be high and going against the reason of making inflatable rockets, but they could well be making a solution to that problem. For example lets say that a rocket was coved in plastic that was not heat resistant but scientists made a liquid that made the plastic heat resistant and it was cheap to make and lightweight but it is not invented yet, and in the future it could be, meaning that the heat problem is a minor little roadblock.
2.the gas in side the rocket can be changed from helium to a safer fuel source
3.if you have a reinforced top part of the rocket then it might not rip as easy however, the cost of reinforcing the rocket is still high
in conclusion I think it is possible to fix this problem but it is still a safety hazard. And at the moment they still have to be designed and hopefully they do this stuff to the rockets and are ok.
Well done for thinking critically about this problem and giving some open-minded suggestions for how it could be solved!

I think it is a bad idea yes it costs a lot of money to build a normal spaceship so this will be a way to save money but it also has some problems which will effect how early some downs of it as it could not hold the weight of all the engines in the space craft is quite heavy so it will be hard to power it though the atmosphere. In Addison to this, the space craft might burn when it is tagging of so the people in the inflatable rocket would die making less people want to be an astronaut so there is a bit of a safety hazard then .Also it could burn under the pressure of the atmosphere hiting the rocket . To conclude,Ithink it is a bad idea to have inflatable rocket .

I wouldn’t use an inflatable rocket because, if the rocket makes it to the destination it would be hard to get back out of orbit. Also that means the rocket could deflate overtime. Mars is a minimum of 54.6 kilometres away and I don’t think an inflatable rocket would have enough power to make it that far considering a normal rocket has only made it 384,400 kilometres.
Don't forget your millions!

I think we should use inflatable rockets because it will be a lot less expensive and will be easier to launch into space since they are lighter. Also we should use inflatable rockets because even though they can’t be reused they are still easier to design and make and therefore can be used in space a lot quicker.

I think we should definitely use inflatable rockets because they are way cheaper and useful,

They could use different materials to put on the balloon so it wouldn’t burn so I think that we should also it is much cheaper!

I do not think we should us inflatable rockets
Reason: 1. We know more about normal rockets than we know about inflatable rockets. 2. A inflatable rocket can burn up easily.

And it can burn up while taking off

I think we should stick to normal rockets because it could burn up when your going up and then you would fall to your death. Secondly, you can't get thrusters on it because it would burn/pop. Thirdly, we don't know how it will cope in space for a really long time. Finally, it might rip itself apart in space if someone does something to it and then you'll be stuck floating around in space.
I agree, because as you say, if the inflatable rocket ripped in space, then that is basically littering in space!
