What we have done to space.

I believe that there are many reasons why we should/shouldn't escape Earth because of what we've done. We live on our beloved planet Earth but throughout the weeks looking through Burnet News Club I have seen a variety of different opinions on this and I have pointed out my opinion through the comment section.

  • The reason as to why we are even debating this is because human throughout the 4.543 billion years the Earth has been around we have messed it up so much due to climate change, pollution, rise in population e.t.c. We have been on Earth for about 200,000 years so if we set the 4.543 billion years it's been around down to a day and we shrink the amount of time we been on Earth against that...We have been on Earth for 3 seconds, in 3 seconds we have filled the bottom of oceans with plastic we have killed billions of animals we have filled entire fields with our junk we curupted something that was supposed to be our way of life, nature. And now we just wish we could of done it all again but this time tried NOT to completely destroy the world; we think we can just leave behind our terror, leave further than 1,000,000 miles away so we can forget all we did , in 200 years from when we leave Earth no one will even remember what we did and know how viollent our human race is.
  • Although the people who caused all this mess are the people who are in denial of even doing it and aren't stoping there mass producing of pretty much pollution there creating more pollution than we can cure that's why the good people are slaving themselves to do something to protect the future generations, there are people who are setting up charity events such as: #teamtrees, tree week and there's tons more that I can't even list as I don't know all of them there the people trying to stop polluting the planet so we don't HAVE to go up to space to flee the soon to be too hot for people to live on due to global warming.

A good post that includes a range of reasons. Well done. Some people might argue that we have been on Earth for 200,000 and that's a long time. In that time humans have made lots of progress. What might they say about the progress that's possible in the next 200,000 years if we explore space?

It would approximately consume 68,000,000 rockets just for our population NOW. We may need more or we may need less as people die and people are born. Even if we were able to get an accurate amount of rockets for our inhabitants all over Earth, we've only got a vague idea of which planet we'd want to civilize on. Simultaneously, we have 500,000 pieces of floating junk in space. This could alter our navigation and it may lead us to somewhere else! Also, if it takes 150-300 days just to launch ONE rocket then it would take... 10,200,000,000- 20,400,000,000 days for all us to be in Mars. Not to mention that the Ozone would be highly damaged.

    Thank you for reading.
