I agree with the statement because when you're watching a video, it doesn't always have to be seen. I think this because with only just audio it would still be easy to understand what is happening because it could create an image inside your mind. With only the footage it would be difficult to understand what is happening in the situation.

I disagree a little bit about the statement because if there was a problem somewhere in school or outside there would mainly be consequences. If someone had a role that they need to do in those types of situations they would need evidence to know who to trust. If there was no evidence then the person who is dealing with it could check the CCTV cameras to get a better understanding of the situation and they'll know who is lying.

Would your argument change if there was no evidence of anyone or anything seeing the situation ?

Thank you for your comment magical_wilddog, you said that when they're dealing with some issues, they checks the cameras better than hearing what happened. So do you think visual journalism is more reliable than audio journalism?

I'm not certain because if you listen to an audio it is like someone telling you a story in person just via the media so I'm in the middle

I strongly agree with this statement because audio is an effective way that leads to visualizing, and as a perfect example of it is telling children stories before they go to sleep. Why do you think they enjoy it and sleep directly after? Because they're imagining the whole story and what's told, for example if the story was about Cinderella, they imagine the shape of Cinderella and her beauty and imagine the dress that she wore when she went to the party and imagine how her family treated her, so yes audio is the door of imagination.
However, people who might disagree might give an example of blind people, about how would they imagine something if they didn't see before, like if they didn't see how a dress looks like how would they imagine it? And this might be correct, but it's still an exception because they are minority of people.

I strongly agree with this statement and that because i believe in the power of imagination. Imagine you hear a story on audible or from someone, the scenes would be directly represented in your mind, and that's because you'd love to live the moment and understand better by creating that visions. But, it's worth to mention that everyone have his/her own of imagination and style so each one will have a unique scenes which makes it more special for each one to have what he/she wants. For instamce, everyone knows that watching tv and having a blue screen infront of your eyes before sleeping decreases your sleep hormone, and that for the lack of darkness, so when you watch a story before sleeping you won't feel sleepy until you're totally exhausted with dark bags under eyes, that's because you had your sleep hormoe disabled, while when you hear it you can dive with you imagination, closing your eyes, relaxing your muscles and relieving your vision senses so you can enjoy a better sleep. My question for other topical talkers is: do you agree with my point and example?

A really interesting example that shows a clear advantage of audio over visual media. In the same way, do you think there are any harmful affects of listening to things?

I strongly agree with this statement as when there is an image in front of you your imagination is just fixed on that one image, however when you're listening to a story being told you can interpret what is being said in your own way or you could even defy the author's vision and making something greater in your head than what was meant.

I strongly agree with this statement because when listening to someone telling you mainly things you have never heard or would like to hear is fascinating it really takes your thoughts to another level of high strong questions waiting for answer wanting to listen more & more. A example is when you or somebody you know reads a small 7 young child a bedtime story.

I agree with this comment because when you read something the words cant change on the page, however if you listen to something, you can understand what the words mean and think deep into your imagination about what they could be telling you, and also, you can change your perspective on the story.

I strongly agree with this comment because when hearing something you can picture it any way you want and let your imagination take control. It means you can decide what is going on a and create a picture in your head, completely up to you . If you have an image in front of you its telling you how the story is supposed to look but when you listen to it, you can make it more enjoyable by seeing the story as something you think of it as.

The fact is with the audio the "let your imagination go wild" may not always be a good thing as you could go zooming off the topic that is trying to be shown to you but at the same time visual can be hard to understand with only words and hand signals

I personally always got extremely disappointed when I imagined a character/place in a book a certain way after me reading it or someone reading it to me, then watching a film/TV adaptation of it and the character/place not being how I visualized it. This supports that hearing somethin gives your imagination more freedom that if you just see it. I think that it depends on the tone that the story is being told in, I find it more difficult to visualize a situation if someone is reading it in a 'boring voice' or a voice that shows they don't care or aren't really involved . I think that this doesn't fuel my imagination as much to come up with a amazing world in my head. But if the person reading/speaking is enjoying speaking, and showing that they are enjoying it, then I agree that audio is the key to the imagination.

"Audio is the most visual way of telling a story. There are no limits to your imagination like there are with something you can see." I agree because audio is a very good way of telling a story as you can use your imagination to either think of the what ifs or wonder what happened after the story. But i disagree to because deaf people use images to tell a story and it is harder for them to understand the story if it is being said.

I would strongly agree with this statement. I believe the visual aids you can create in your imagination can make more of an impact then real visuals. The gift of sound can truly transport you further with the way you can expand your knowledge and understanding. In life this is one of the most important things to help you succeed since you can acknowledge things without any need for pictures.

In addition this statement is a amazing way to explain that your imagination can run free with just a simple sound unlike the boundaries it can be set with images.

I am strongly agreed with this statement because let me illustrate this with an example when our teacher teach a lesson she use audio to explain to us.And we understand it in better way and imagine all the lessons in our mind that teacher says .In this way we learn and understand our lesson very quickly and easily because of audio imagination. Another example is that when we feel sad or upset we listen motivational or hopeful music. In this way we become happy and it gives us a lot of encouragement.
