A Letter to Donald Trump

For my final piece, I am going to write it in the form of a letter to Donald Trump:

Dear Mr Trump,

I am writing to you to tell you about how barbaric building your wall on the border of the USA and Mexico is. I understand that you are trying to keep out illegal immigrants, but in doing this you are making some Mexican people and even YOUR OWN people’s life hassle. If people work over the border, you are stopping them from having a job. You are the cause of this. You are depriving these people of providing for their families. Let me ask you this: how would you feel if you had a job that you couldn’t work at anymore, so you couldn’t provide for your wife, Melania and your five children? I bet you would be stressed out- a lot. You are the person responsible for wrecking these people’s lives. Personally, I don’t know how you sleep at night.

In addition to this, you haven’t thought this through, have you? Mexico is a much safer country than the USA, and you know it. There has been so many more terrorist attacks in the USA than in Mexico, therefore mexico is safer. It’s actually ironic that you are putting a wall up to stop some of the safest people from getting into YOUR country, when actually it should probably the other way around. However, that doesn’t ignore the fact that you are wrecking these poor people’s lives. You are the one making these people think about how they are going to manage their finances, you are the one who is making them think about how their wives are going to react when they tell them that they can’t work anymore. You are the cause of all of this. Let me ask you two questions: bearing all of this in mind, could you remind the world why exactly you are building this wall? And when, like you promised in your speech, are you going to ‘Make America Great Again?

I hope you now realise how cruel you are being to these people. It’s too late now to stop it being built, but surely now I have taught you some morals about being SELFLESS and not SELFISH? If you haven’t, then the people of the USA need to rethink of how they want their country to be won.

Yours faithfully,

Well done for using lots of rhetorical questions and other techniques to engage the reader. I would challenge you when you say that Mexico is safer than the US, can you find any facts to prove this?

President Trump will be visiting the UK next week, perhaps you could send your letter to Parliament or your local MP.
