Fascism is the forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy. It is my belief that, whilst he isn’t a fascist, Donald Trump is a person who displays certain characteristics of it.
Firstly, he doesn’t think about anybody else. His views are immoral and selfish: his “Make America Great Again” centres around the suppression of people of other ethnic backgrounds. Since he came to power, he has tried to prevent people from certain countries entering America - 99% of whom are harmless! Trump blames the masses for the crimes of the individual - and this is unfair. Thankfully, due to America being a democracy (something which isn’t a fascist way of ruling), the Supreme Court didn’t allow it to take place.
Secondly, Donald Trump has prevented transgender people to join the army why is he trying to control society. He can’t tell people what they can or cannot do with their lives. Women and men can join the army why can’t transgenders?
Finally, he is trying to build a wall: this is outright discrimination. Since when did Donald Trump have the right to become more superior than regular humans? Since when does someone have the right to to bar people from their human rights? Just because he’s the president doesn’t mean he can put down other people due to their background. A president is supposed to be inspirational and encouraging; someone who uplifts the country and keeping them safe. Donald Trump is the exact opposite. He does not deserve to be president.
It is my belief that, whilst he may not BE a fascist, he certainly displays characteristics that are similar to them.
