On the 14th May Conservative MP Ed Vaisey came to visit us and and answer our questions. Mr Vaizey was very friendly and gave an answer for every one of our questions. The topics varied from Brexit , Racism and immigration. One of the questions was if he thought that Brexit was racist. He told us that the idea of Brexit was not racist but that low-level racism had increased because of the referendum, its result and the fall-out of the last three years. This was very powerful because of the white ,racist stereotype of a Tori MP.
Another question was ,if an MP’s constituents could not see what the MP was voting in Parliament if the vote outcomes would be different. His answer was that article 50 would not have been triggered.
I would like to say a big thankyou to Mr Vaizey for coming and answering all of our questions and Mr Baker the leader of our news club for giving us this opportunity.
