Eradicating Hunger - Future Or Fantasy?

Many have tried, are trying, and will continue to try, but is it truly possible to feed the whole globe? Certainly, it is possible to feed many more hungry mouths, but eradicating world hunger sounds like an extremely utopian milestone.

While the world continues to be plagued by food shortages and famines, the human population stands at 8 billion and counting. Instead of decreasing, it seems like the number of people having to go hungry is increasing day by day.

However, in spite of these seemingly unbeatable odds, some heroes have emerged, endeavoring to battle the many-headed hydra that is world hunger.

Is a world free of hunger our future, or merely a fantasy inspiring those who try to achieve it?
