Challenging Stereotypes

Hello everyone. There are many gender-based stereotypes that we face many times and consider them to be true though they are not. And being a student of the 21st century, I wanted to oppose these “narrow-minded opinions”.
It is said that females don’t know how to fight for their interests. But in the history too, it can be seen that women have protested in order to have their demands heard. English and French women didn’t have the right to vote initially. Only after the Suffrage Movement did they get the right to vote. In India, during the colonial rule, females first had to protest so that they can also participate in the national movement.
It is also said that females cannot become good leaders because someone meant for household chores cannot lead the mass. But leaders like Margaret thatcher, Britain’s first female and longest serving prime minister, who became a capable leader in an era when gender inequality was sharper, and Kamala Harris proved this wrong.
One more such saying is that females are better at cooking and singing whereas men should focus on things that require high thinking skills. But we see that there are many male artists who are famous worldwide. There are as many male cooks in the world as female cooks. Similarly, there are many women in jobs that were initially dominated by men.
On the other hand, if we look at tribal communities, we can observe that such differences don’t exist. The responsibility or the duty of both males and females is same.
This shows that gender stereotypes aren’t true. It’s just that as we started getting exposed to new ways of interpreting things, that gender inequality was established. Anyways, these inequalities are decreasing as there are many cases where these stereotypes have been proved wrong. I have listed only a few of them.
Please do share your opinion on the topic.
Thank you.

interesting comments artistic_engineer. Do you think there are any traditionally male-dominated jobs/roles which females cannot do?
