When Will We All Be Fairly Represented

Am I fairly represented across the media? This is a question we should all be asking ourselves, no matter our gender, race or sexuality there are many ways that the public is told to percieve us across the media. Whether we realise it or not we are all slowly being conditioned to view people a certain way because of what they are instead of who they are.

Let me take women as my first example, they are shown as these dainty, affectionate and bubbly people. So from a young age we look up to our mothers and sisters as these people. But unforunately as a result of this, the second we see someone who doesn't fit into this steryotypical description we take a step back and become confused because they aren't like what we are told women are meant to be.

This doesn't only apply to women though, men are percieved to be strong and emotionless. This leads us to have this same sense of confusion when we see a man having these so-called unnatural emotions. Which once again is because of the steryotypes that the media has made.

The only way we are able to fix this steryotypical society is by teaching the younger generations as they are our only chance of reaching this more desirable equitable society.
