Step two: check your work
So, you’ve created your Standpoints in class with your teacher. Now what?
Check your work one last time against the following success criteria:
-
Does your Standpoint answer one of the questions from the Standpoint lesson?
-
Are your points made in a logical order?
-
Have you used appropriate vocabulary? For example, the keywords from the lesson?
-
Have you used reliable facts and examples to support your opinions? For example, from the lesson or from topic experts?
-
If you did your own research, did you check your facts are from reliable sources?
-
Have you explained alternative opinions and said why you agree or disagree with them? For example, from other students on the Hub?
-
Have you made clear what is fact and what is your opinion?
-
Is your Standpoint under 400 words (for written entries) or two minutes (for audio or video entries)?
Help other students

To make a reliable, trustworthy standpoint, I think students should compare different news story to each other, to get a general idea of what the consensus is, so that they do not include any misleading information.
To make the best standpoint of course watch the videos first then make your point.Have capital letters, punctuation, make your words are spelled correctly.Mostly stay on topic. If the topic is talking about how healthy carrots are dont change the subject saying oh apples is the best. At that point your just changing the subject.
Checking your work, can help you get good grades and to make sure there's no mistake in your work, the process of reviewing your work, before you give it to your teacher or turn it in, how you see what you have to do to get a perfect score, like a presentation in front of the class, you have to make sure there is no mistake, in your sentence, or in your paragraph. There are some steps on how to check your work, Step 1: Carefully look over your work, and make sure there an answer to every single question, Step 2 : Reread the question to make sure your answer is correct, and Step 3: Compare each answer and cross out the answer, that doesn't make any sense. This is why you should always check your work.
If you did your own research, did you check your facts are from reliable sources?Yes,if you do your own research you have to make sure that the source or sources is right because you can't send out wrong facts.
Some tips I have for making a successful Standpoint, for example to go back to the lesson using key words to support your claim and make sure to support your reasoning, but they should also look for irrelevant details in there reasonings to not include any information that doesn't relate to the topic there talking about.
To make a reliable standpoint students could maybe put two story to each other so that they could get an understanding or idea of what it is and it can help them not include any unnecessary information
By following these guidelines and using the rubric as a checklist, I think students can significantly improve the quality and persuasiveness of their standpoint.
