Hi! this is faithful_fern here, and you are reading What's Wrong With Syria? The most important decision that needs to be made in Syria is to figure out the goverment and the leader of the country. In my opinion, I think Syria should be a democratic counry instead of having dictatorship. Because of a dictatorship, they were in the middle of a civil war. I think Syria should let their people vote because if the goverment thinks one thing and the people of the country think another then the people of the country might leave. Like how people fled the country because of Assad's rule. The population might decrease more and more until its just free land! That all can be avoided by having democratic government. I think the person that might disagree with me is Assad because he was the one that led Syria into the civil war. Tune in to another article to read more.

While you provide many detailed thoughts on the fall of the Assad Regime and finding a new political figure, Syrian residents are in distraught during this time, which could lead them to make an uninformed decision within their government and regret their decision following the recollection of stability within Syria. However, I do understand where you're coming from. You are correct, building a democracy within a currently unstable country should be a top priority. But nevertheless, finding how to rebuild with the right president-elect will create a new problem within Syria over political standpoints and debates between beliefs and possible fake promises during the campaign. A possible solution if Syria elected a temporary general or leader appointed by the majority of population during that time, therefore residents living their will be able to impeach or take the leader out of office if they have a change of heart or appoint them as their permanent leader if they feel that the figure has had a positive impact on the rebuilding of Syria and provided stability and resources improvements within the country.
