International aid - Standpoint image 4

Control for the receiving country

I think international aid should be controlled by the people that are receiving the aid, because they know what it should be used for. Local leaders and communities know which areas require the most urgent attention whether it is healthcare, education, infrastructure or food security. By allowing the receiving country to the most say, aid can be used in ways that directly reflect the receiving country to have the most say aid can be used in ways that directly reflect the real challenges on the group

The reason why foreign aid is important is that it save lives. All countries that give foreign aid dedicate a portion of their funds to humanitarian assistance. This helps people who are affected by crises, disasters and conflicts around the world. When global catastrophes strike whether through conflict, natural disasters, or disease, communities find themselves without out the most basic means. In these moments, humanitarian aid organization provide a lifeline offering food shelter medicine, and protection to people in immediate and urgent need. Unlike long term development, these programs are designed to temporarily stabilize people and families by resting dignity and livelihood in the face of crisis. The counteries receiving aid know where they need the most support and can action this quicker as outside counteries will need to investigate and then oraganise the aid which will slow the process down. Money should not be the main focuses of this topic. Countries do many things to help such as donating clothes and even donating food.
