Should voting rights match a person’s legal responsibilities?

I think they should not lower the voting age because the brain does not fully develop until the age of 26. Ed Miliband said "the future of our society is going to affect young people the most, when you get to the age of 18, you can join the army, get married and pay taxes', and all around the world, countries like Brazil and Ecuador have lowered the age to 16 but most countries think that remaining at 18 is the best. I thikn the UK should do the same because this is when we legally responsible.
But, if parliament agrees and the law is passed in time, around 1.5 million 16- and 17-year-olds could vote for the very first time, despite not being mature enough. However, it has been over 50 years since the last change to the limit and that was when it got changed from 21 to 18 therefore a lot of people think we should change it (including the government). The time taken to decide this shows we should not rush this decision and we should keep voting in line with legal responsibilities.
