Would giving 16-year-olds the vote improve democracy or just change the way campaigns are run?

Lowering the voting age - Standpoint image 1

SHOULD 16 YEARS OLDS VOTE ?

I think young people should have the right to vote because their opinion matters in shaping the future. They are affected by decision about education, jobs, and the environment, so omit makes sense for their voices to be heard in democracy.

At 16, many students are already learning about politics and society. This mean they can understand important issues and from their own opinions. Allowing them to vote could also make young people more responsible and interested in civic matters.

Some people worry that lowering the voting age would only change how campaign are run, with politicians focusing on younger voter. I think this could actually be positive, because it would encourage leaders to listen to the concerns of young people and include them more in national decisions.
