Do international alliances always make the world safer, or can they sometimes lead to more tension?

What I think is that a more packed allie club is equal to a more stronger, secure, supportive and good relationship. What I think is when you have a packed alliance with good relationships you can get along with each other, for example if you are in a fight, and your getting attacked, then others will join to give support together. Another reason why is because, (by the way it's the opposite of the reason before), so when one of the allies are attacking another country, their allie could come and help invade or defend. Last reason is, an international alliance can scare of other countries from attacking your alliance. And also (sorry I know I said that the last one WAS the last one,,,, but one more please) a very strong alliance can invade very well. BYE
