I believe it is safer for a country to have many different allies rather than rely on just one very powerful relationship. When a country has several allies, it does not depend completely on a single nation for security or support. If one ally changes its policy or faces its own crisis, other partners can still provide help. This creates balance and reduces risk.

For example, in alliances like NATO, countries work together and share responsibility for defence. This means no single country has to face threats alone. It also encourages cooperation, discussion and shared decision-making.

Some people might argue that having one very powerful ally is enough because that country can offer strong protection quickly. However, relying on only one relationship can be risky. If that powerful country decides to withdraw support, the smaller country may become vulnerable.
