Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

HELLO EVERYONE,
TODAY I AM GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE WINTER GAMES! In my opinion not in all sports tech can be used because of cheating.
In skiing they have made a new thread which I strongly think is cheating. The thread makes a person faster. The material is very expensive and not many people can afford it, that is why I think it is cheating and extremely unfair.
NOW I AM GOING TO TALK ABOUT VAR AND HAWK EYE
In football they are using a type of tech called VAR and I agree because the referee might not have seen quick movements. You just have to rewind it, then it replays the bit you are looking for. VAR is very good because it has risen from 82% to 96%.
In tennis they use something similar to VAR, it is called HAWK EYE they used to have judges but again they cannot see quick moves so that is why HAWK EYE is not cheating and fair.
