Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

The Winter Games - Standpoint image 3

In formula 1, way before halos were invented, lots of people in the races which go 200 miles per hour have died like Henry Surtees in 2009 and Jules Bianchi in 2014. The halo is made of titanium which cannot be broken in crashes which has happened to save a lot of people during races. In F1 Lewis Hamilton was so close to being hit by a piece of debris but because of the halo he was saved.

In football VAR has improved accuracy from 82% to 96% through the years they also had to make sure red and yellow cards were given to the correct players also teams with bigger budgets can purchase tech rather different teams may not have access to tech like them.

In tennis tech called hawk eye is used to track exactly where a ball lands. Hawk eye shows a computer replays and shows you where the ball is going to land. This makes it fairer and more accurate than a human doing the same job.

Ski jumpers is another example of using tech for sports. Some competitors used a piece of thread to cheat and they got caught.

My last opinion is that in either way you shouldn't be using any tech as it can make the game unfair as the other team may not be able to afford it. It tech is used, everyone should be able to use it.
