Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

Does technology make the sport fair or give some athletes an unfair advantage?

In tennis the players say that they like technology referring to the match to make the game fairer. In tennis they use a piece of technology called the Hawk Eye to see if the ball landed outside the court. The technology helps to see things that the human eye can not see. They started using Hawk Eye in 2005. Some people say that it enhances the game and makes it more fun to watch but not all people think that. Some people think that it is bad because it takes away from tradition.

In football, VAR (video assistant referee) helps to know if you should give a yellow, red card or not a card at all. It also is used to see if there is a goal or if it has been saved. It can help to see if the ball has gone out of the lines and if so then the referee can know which team to give the ball to. VAR helps to improve accuracy in the game.

In the Former One there is a piece of technology called a halo that is mandatory now for races to have. It protects the driver's face and it does not spoil the view for the racer though fans (and competitors) complain that they cannot see the racer's face as well. People have proof that it does protect them like when Lewis Hamilton was saved by the halo from a bit of metal that was flying towards his face from a four cars collision that happened. Zhou Guanyu was saved from a crash that happened at high speed, but he came out uninjured. Even if some people complain, I think that safety always comes first.

In my family we have an exercise bike that can monitor your heart rate when you go on it and the bike shows your speed, calories and it also shows how often you go on it. My bike has a button that when you press the button it pauses so you can have a break with your speed not going down. It has the distance so you can see that if you were on a relay bike you know how far you have gone.
