Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

I think technology makes sports better because if the referee trips over and there was a clear foul then the referee could use VAR. which stands for ( video assistant referee).
I think technology makes sports worse because if you won the match then you can go to VAR ( video assistant referee) and say we have to play it again because two goals were offside or there were too many fouls or something else.
on the other hand some may say,
VAR makes sports better because if the referee doesn’t see a foul and it is a goal then the referee can use VAR to check. This makes the game more equal.
Technology can widen the gap more because one team might have more money than the other team and this can give them an unfair advantage.
To summarise, I think that technology widens the gap in sports.
