Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

Technology is great, sports is amazing but should they always work together. My first opinion to support my answer is because if technology fails or misleads(e.g inaccaurate VAR) it directly influence match results, undermining the integrety of the game and this usually happens many times.
my second opinion to support my answer is that somtimes the referees mic turns off and have to check the network and that alone can take 10 to 30 ,minutes and fans came to watch football not and not to see people play with technology for 10 minutes. It's fine for the football players but not fine for the fans watching.

Some people may disagree with my answer and may say that referees mic only break somtimes. Nowadays world records in sport are much easier than the old sport days because the technology is getting way to slow.
