Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

Technology is an amazing thing for making sports more fair.
Sports can be seriously unfair at times. Human inaccuracy is present in so many sports. We can’t fix unfairness in sports 100% of the time but we can make it more fair by implementing Technology to help make it more fair. Things like the VAR, Hawkeye System, and Automated strike zone can help monitor and control games. The VAR is great it allows referees to review important moments in a game using video footage, which makes the chance of a wrong call way less. Systems like the VAR and the Hawk-Eye system use camera technology to determine whether a ball was in or out of play or if a foul really happened. The winter games uses a similar replay system to help monitor keeping results fair and accurate. My argument is supported by The guardian.
Technology can make sports more even, it can help regulate equipment so no one gains a unfair advantage. In the winter games and in most sports, a tiny change in equipment can make a huge difference. If there were no rules, richer countries could spend UNLIMITED money making the most high tech gear possible and just have a unfair competitive advantage. But organizations like the ‘International Olympic Committee’ and the ‘International Ski and Snowboard Federation’ have strict rules on equipment size, weight and material. By using technology we can correctly measure equipment so we an ensure everyone has the safe fair standards. This turns the sport into a talent competition instead.
Technology helps make sports more even by making training methods for athletes around the world. We can use motion tracking, performance data and video analysis to improve training and techniques, instead of purely relying on their coaches opinion. Athletes can now measure their speed, balance and timing to help improve themselves.
Who would disagree with me? Wealthier countries have more money to invest in better research, training places, and advanced equipments. This is why countries like the US and Canada do so well in the winter games, because they can afford to buy the most in order to get an advantage.
To make an impact on this issue, I could raise awareness about the importance of technology in sports by talking about it with my friends and class, Discussing on social media aka topical talk :).
Technology doesn’t replace talent, it protects it.
