Does the use of technology make new world records less impressive than those of the past?

Today, technology is used in many different ways for sports like checking for penalties in the FIFA World Cup. Usually, it helps make sports fairer because it can do it better than humans. However, it can also be used by richer countries to win games.
I believe that technology makes sports more equal because it allows competitors with disabilities to compete without their problems so that everyone has the same chance of winning. For example, Markus Rehm used a carbon-fibre blade to compete in the long jump in the Paralympic Games. This increases inclusion. From 2020, technology made sports fairer because it reduces human error and cheating. Also, cameras in the Premier League can check if the ball fully crosses the line, which stops unfair goals being given or missed. As evidence, there was a match for Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and a mistake happened, which was before the match’s system was improved.
On the other hand, technology also makes sports more unfair as richer countries can afford better equipment so they can play better in games. Also, wealthier countries might have better sports scientists, training centres and coaches so that their athletes can train easier than some other poorer countries’ competitors. Technology still gives advantages to some players because some teams can’t afford the newest gear so they might play worse than a team who does have all the new equipment. For example, some athletes in curling might use modern specialized shoes and high-tech brooms but some don’t, so they don’t have the advantage of easily sweeping and gliding.
In conclusion, real examples show that technology has made sports like the Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games fairer by helping referees make more accurate decisions, with no mistakes or disagreements. However, technology also makes sports games unfairer because only some countries can afford it. I believe that technology should only be used for making the games more accurate and recording them, so every team uses the same equipment, which makes it more equal.
