Does the use of technology make new world records less impressive than those of the past?

Technology is getting relied on more and more each year in sports such as the Winter Olympics, Paralympics and the Olympics. It does help make games fairer and reduces human errors but is it good for society? But it can also give richer countries and teams an advantage.
I think technology is a good thing. Most of the times VAR(Video Assistant Referee) which is used in football do make sure that the red card and fouls are called at the right time but some fans think it slows down the game and say it makes the game less enjoyable.
When they counted up the polls it revealed that 99.4% of respondents wanted change, with over 50% calling for a total demolition.
In the recent Winter Olympics some curling teams introduced electronic handles on the stones. The handles use sensors and magnetic sensors to automatically detect whether the throw was legal or not. Players use specialized footwear with one sliding sole (Teflon) and one rubber gripper sole.Modern brooms use hair (hog/horse) for bristles to sweep the ice, reducing melting ice to direct the stone. Although it does not help athletes, new tech like AI replays and drones are used to show the event from all angles.
However, technology can also make sports unfair as well. Some teams and countries are richer than others meaning that some teams have to use old equipment while other teams use newer. On 17th June 2020 Aston Villa lost to Sheffield because of VAR. It isn’t common for VAR to make mistakes but it is not impossible.
This has happened to me when I was doing my gymnastic competition and I had to have an AI video replay my moves and saw that my legs were slightly bent but then when the other team bent their legs it looked straight. My experience is similar to when some athletes have better tech than others.
In conclusion, real life examples and experience show that some technology can make mistakes and it can improve the game even when it does make the game even more long winded. It is good for certain circumstances but it depends on the technology that is being used. Therefore, technology should be controlled carefully when it comes to sport.
