Does the use of technology make new world records less impressive than those of the past?

I think it does because technology sometimes ruins it and if you know technology well, you can cheat by for example, use it to cheat in some occasions (basically fraud) by using shoes that puffs up for more giant leaps, therefore cheating to get on guiness world records.
Some world records get boring after a while, about a few years after some people find it unamusing (i might be wrong) and loads of world records have passed.
Some people might im wrong because without technology VAR wouldn't exist so people can't check if the record was fake or not.
In summary, I think it does because people can use stuff to cheat with technology
