Does the use of technology make new world records less impressive than those of the past?

The Winter Games - Standpoint image 4

Technology is used in many sports today, including the Winter olympic and Paralympic games. It can help make decisions fairer and help athletes improve. However it can also give an advantage to teams or countries with more money.

It can help make decisions fairer and help athletes to improve their performance. For example VAR which is also used in football checks important decisions such as penalties or red cards. Some people may cheat and deny it and not take accountability when they're lying. Then the referee checks VAR and then it shows the truth but they might be lying and might not be.

Some coaches might go to the referees before the match and say i’ll give you lots of money if you make unfair decisions for the other team and cheat for us. In my opinion I think the coach is saying that because they think they are going to lose. Sometimes some people can hijack VAR. Also in the winter olympics some teams that are richer can get better equipment and suits because they have the money but poorer countries have a disadvantage while the richer team has an advantage

Once I was versing my old football team and my new team and I all had Nike studs but my old team had soft old Adidas studs so we beat them 11-0 because we had better equipment.

In conclusion ,real-life examples show that technology can make sports fairer but it depends on the decision of the VAR but it can help referees make better decisions and help improve safety. But it depends on the equipment, so, for example if Liverpool had better equipment than Manchester City,Manchester United,Arsenal then Liverpool would win every match they play.
