Should modern sport test not just natural talent, but also training methods and technology, or does that make competition unfair?

The Winter Games - Standpoint image 4

This is my opinion of the Winter games. Have a nice day!

Hello everyone, I am Philosophical Reflection and I'm here to discuss about the Winter Olympics and Paralympics and how using technology is unfair to the others who aren't. I personally think that using tech in any sports competition, Olympics or not, is completely unfair and uneligible for approval in sports competitions, as people would definetely protest and give the Olympic team too much backlash it can handle. Nevertheless, people think it is a good idea, even maybe the competitors would give it a try, but they would definetely find a loophole through using the technology, such as using certain types of snowboards or skis that bypass the rules in some way. As well as this, people would gain a bigger ego, think they are better than they really are, thus them being clowned on in the Olympics if they ban certain technology. Some people might say that they could set it so that people on a certain skill level couldn't buy certain tech, and only the more skillful people could buy it. I would say that some suits with carbon fibre threads cost from hundreds of pounds to thousands of pounds, leading to people complaining about expenses. As well as this, using technology could make the original tradition fade away, which people who have taken part in those sports before could be mad at, leading to protests. So, as you can see, technology is a bad influence to the Olympic and Paralympic games and those who are playing it. Thank you for reading this standpoint.
