About this lesson

On February 1st 2025, President Trump began a global "tariff war" by imposing widespread tariffs on imports into the US.

Are tariffs a good way for countries to help their own businesses? Or do they mostly make things cost more?

Use this lesson to help students:

  • Learn what tariffs are
  • Discuss the effects of different tariffs on countries that import goods
  • Debate whether President Trump's tariff changes will be good or bad for America
