What makes Elon Musk so powerful?

Written standpoint on Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, has managed to work his way up the power ladder, and to the right-hand side of the president. He saw a swarm of people who thrived on twitter, spreading their word and breathing in the word of others, and decided it was perfect. Elon bought twitter and reformed it how he saw fit. He managed to control the platform, pushing his own personal-political views to the first thing you see upon opening the app. From there, information only spreads, both fact and fiction. His reach spread, people tend to follow the crowd.

Social Media gives power. Many generations alike spend their time scrolling through content, twisted the necessary way to keep the user’s attention as long as possible, it’s the algorithm. Information seeps its way into folks’ brains, replacing their thoughts and opinions with what they see. Elon drips his platform into the algorithm, then all he has to do is wait. The more people that his opinion reaches, the more likely they are to agree, therefore bowing at his feet and spreading his thoughts like a plague with no cure.

I can understand why someone may disagree, saying that money gives him power. He did buy Twitter with money after all, but money can only legally buy so much. Social media is widespread, and already drastically affected people before he came around. It’s a way for people to communicate with each other, it will, without fail, affect how people see Elon Musk. The more people that see and hear him, the worse it gets for those who don’t agree with his personal and political views, like myself. Social media will, in my opinion, always be the easiest way to gain power and silently slip into the minds of citizens.
