Written standpoint on women in space

Which problem caused by gender inequality is the most difficult to fix?

Gender inequality isn’t a very big problem in Romania these days, but it was an issue many years ago. The stereotype is men would work all day and women would stay at home, cleaning the house and taking care of their children.

Nowadays, gender inequality isn’t as big of a problem as it was a longer time ago, but there are some definite issues which need to be fixed. For exemple, there are many stereotypes. One of them is that “women can’t drive”. I don’t agree with people who say that no women can drive. In fact, women participate in way less car crashes than man do, because they drive slower and are more cautious of the speed limit. Another stereotype in Romania is that people tend to think that boys and men are more likely to break the rules than girls and women are. It is true that usually boys are more immature than girl are when they are kids, but not all of them break the rules. It’s the same with men too, but they are mature. For exemple, many people say that men always drive past the speed limit, which isn’t true. Some men do, but others actually respect the speed limit while driving.

Another part of the gender inequality in Romania is that women can’t work at “men jobs” and men can’t work at “women jobs”. Of course, there in no such thing as a man’s job or a woman’s job, but there are many people that think that only because the majority of people working there are men or women, the opposite gender can’t work there, which isn’t right at all. For exemple, usually, the people working as construction workers are men, but that doesn’t mean that women can’t work there too, or, usually, people working as nurses are women, but again, that does not mean that men can’t work as nurses too.

In conclusion, gender inequality in Romania isn’t as bad now as it was in the past, but there are definitely some things that could be better. In general, the first thing we need to target are stereotypes.
