Stop asking women how they balance work and family. Start asking men the same question. - anonymous.
Despite being in the 21st century, many businesses still ask women about their household responsibilities, while men are never asked about it. Even today, there are still people that think women are the ones that must be in charge of doing the housework, and men are just expected to help. Although nowadays we are in the 21st century, there are still people that think women can not be a good leader. I just can't keep quiet. We have to change the world.
Nowadays only 18 countries are led by a female head of state. Why is that? Because there are still people that think women are not able to rule in a proper way, but that isn’t true. Women are as capable as men to rule, and if we don’t allow women to try, we won’t be able to improve as a society. There are still lots of stereotypes, especially in the working world. Areas such as construction are seen just for men. Only 11.2% of construction workers are women, and it is just due to the stereotype that this is a ‘men’s job’. Why isn’t a woman capable of doing the same work as a man in a construction site? Just because of prejudices.
Besides, women around the world are paid 20% less than men when doing the same job, just because they are seen as inferior. This is happening now, we have to fight to finish with these injustices, and look forward to a better future.
We are able, we are strong, we deserve the same conditions, we deserve the same respect.
